“Ye Young was so sweet and took great care of our pug! She kept us updated with photos and videos the entire time and was easy to communicate with. We would love to have her watch our dog again.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover and experienced dog owner living in the Seaside neighborhood of Torrance. I currently have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a Mini Australian Shepherd, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes and energy levels. My dogs are part of my family, and we stay active every day. We enjoy daily walks, hiking, trips to the dog beach, and playdates. I know how important it is for dogs to get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I grew up surrounded by animals, including dogs, horses, chickens, rabbits, and cats, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I work from home during the week, and now that my kids are away at college, I have more time to dedicate to caring for pets. Whether your dog needs a neighborhood walk, extra exercise, or a longer adventure on a local hiking trail, I’d love to help keep them happy, healthy, and active. I treat every pet as if they were my own and understand that trust, safety, and communication are the most important parts of caring for someone else’s beloved companion. SAFETY & COMPATIBILITY Your dog’s safety, my safety, and the safety of my pets are always my top priorities. I welcome friendly dogs of all sizes—from tiny pups to large breeds—as long as they are comfortable being handled by someone new. Because every dog is different, I require a meet-and-greet before accepting new clients. For dog walking, I’d like to meet your dog first to ensure we’re both comfortable together and that your dog walks calmly on a leash around people and other dogs. If I’m caring for your dog in my home, a meet-and-greet with my dogs is also required to make sure everyone gets along and feels comfortable. While I have many years of experience caring for dogs, I am not a professional dog trainer or behaviorist. For everyone’s safety, I only accept dogs that are friendly with people and can be safely managed on walks and in new environments. If your dog has a history of aggression toward people or other dogs, I may not be the right sitter for your pet. I love puppies and will take in un-spayed or un neutered young puppies (less than 9 months old), at my discretion. I work remote from home and have the flexibility to visit or walk your dog. I have my own three dogs that hang out with me when I work at my desk. I have some flexibility to take a dog to join us to hang out for the day or night. I walk the dogs every afternoon. I have a fenced yard, three friendly dogs to keep your’s company and an XL crate if needed. If I am dog sitting, I would not leave your dog home alone and unattended. There is shaded patio, artificial turf for running and not getting dirty, I have a magnetic screen so my dogs are free to walk in and out of the house at leisure.
“Dorle was SO wonderful with my dog Arthur. So easy to work with, very trustworthy, and gave me lots of updates throughout the day. Her house is dog HEAVEN. Wish I could stay with Dorle and Arthur could go to work. Thank you so much!”

“Delaney was a godsend for an unexpected LA weekend. My golden retriever (and best friend) was immediately comfortable with her and pleased to never leave and just sit at her feet. She was communicative, friendly, and a wonderful guardian to my pet. I hope more travel in the area allows me to book her again, bc I had no worries. You can tell right away that’s she’s an animal lover and goes above and beyond for our furry friends. Thanks again, Delaney!”

“Jessica is an absolute angel. I was in a bit of a pickle and I went on Rover and asked if she could please pick up my dog and watch him for a few hours. He was so happy he had a good time she came promptly and was so kind and helpful and I cannot thank her enough. We will forever use Jessica.”

“Connie, her kids and her house are all perfect for dogs! Connie is such a sweet person and my dog loves her! I get constant updates and know my dog is having so much fun. All of the other dogs at her house are always well behaved and play well with each other. I trust my boy with her completely and know he’s getting exercise, discipline and lots of love. I highly suggest Connie’s place!”
“First time with Kyle; I have a very anxious Chihuahua mix & Kyle was very patient with her and gave her her own space until she became comfortable. I can tell he has plenty of experience dealing with this type of situation. Communication was easy and efficient with Kyle the entire time that I was at my function. I did check it quite often. Kyle was very responsive which I really appreciated because I was a little bit nervous seeing that my poor baby is very anxious.. We will see you again! Thank you.”

“Sara + Jose are Amazing! Our Puppy Bowie loves it there with his doodle buddies. They are caring, kind, flexible, and great communicators. We are so grateful to have them for Bowie.”

“Comfortable and relaxing outdoor space was great! Gina was very gentle with Pumpkin who was very shy at first. This was her first experience of day-care and Gina said she did great. I was very happy to see her photos that Gina took during the day. Very grateful for that! Pumpkin will be staying with Gina for two nights soon. I hope she enjoys her time with Gina like she did last time. Thank you so much for the gentle care, Gina. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!”

“Qing was wonderful with our Truck. He is a bit nervous about new places and people but he did GREAT!! Typically, even though I take him his supper he does not eat it. At Qing's he actually ate his entire dinner - this means that he was super relaxed!! She sent many photos of Truck. He was actually smiling in a couple of them. We will definitely use her again if we have need.”

“Five stars—no hesitation. Christy adores dogs, especially golden retrievers. We left our golden pup, Honey, with her for one day while we hit Disneyland. When we returned Honey had several new BFFs: Christy and her canine savvy family, with couch-snuggle photos as proof; and Phoebe (Christy’s own golden retriever). Christy’s day plan nailed all Honey's need—timed meals and potty breaks along with the perfect play–nap balance. Christy sent updates and snapshots, so we stayed relaxed and guilt free at the park. I had zero pet-parent stress. When I picked up Honey she trotted out tail-wagging, paws dragging, slightly heavier (treats happen!) and blissfully wiped out. We all slept like babies after our day at Disneyland, including the dog. Safe arms, golden fluency, endless love—Christy is our go-to sitter. Book Christy—your retriever will thank you!”

“We were so lucky to find Samantha on Rover. Our 90lb puppy had minor stitches so during the day we needed someone to watch him to make sure he didn’t mess with his injury. We got way more than that - Duke was walked, watched and spoiled. He came home tired 🙏 and happy. Highly recommend”

“Bogie LOVES Deeja and Luc and their dog Milo. She’s always so excited to go to them for day care or boarding. They take great care of her and she seems relaxed and happy after time there.”

“Grace took amazing care of Nebula! We felt very comfortable leaving her for the day. They went on multiple walks and Neb came home happy and tired. Thanks again for watching her!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Palos Verdes Estates
As a first time Rover user I was very hesitant to leave my 2 year old pup with someone who wasn’t a relative and in her own home. Everyone I know who had used Rover had great things to say, but when you get your companion at 12 weeks old and spend almost every moment with them for almost 2 years it can be difficult to leave them with anyone new. Pia eased my worries right away and take incredible care of my German Shorthaired Pointer, Tootsie. If you don’t know how energetic GSP’s are, they need lots of exercise daily. Pia and her family took excellent care of Tootsie and I couldn’t be more pleased with how well she was taken care of. My dog makes herself at home wherever she goes but Pia made Tootsie feel right at home, so much so that I’m not sure she wanted to leave when I came to pick her up! I received plenty of pictures/updates on how she was doing and all the fun she was having while I had to travel out of town for a few days. I don’t expect to need any pet sitting services for a while but I would absolutely rebook with Pia again! 11/10!

Kimberly is a wonderful, kind, caring, loving, and attentive dog sitter. I love her loving energy and her love for dogs. I found a perfect sitter for my dog. I can feel confident and secure while I’m away knowing my dog is in good care under Kimberly. I highly recommend her!

Jessica is an absolute angel. I was in a bit of a pickle and I went on Rover and asked if she could please pick up my dog and watch him for a few hours. He was so happy he had a good time she came promptly and was so kind and helpful and I cannot thank her enough. We will forever use Jessica.

Very impressed & thankful for Greg’s care for my senior beagle Chuckie! Appreciated the updates and knowing Chuckie was happy & safe! Loved the big enclosed yard and the dog company Marley. Such a dog friendly home making my dog feel good! Greg was also exceptionally responsive with all my communications. Highly recommend this sitter!

Kaitlin was so amazing with my puppy Arthur. She has a very friendly dog named Benji and she sent me pictures all day of them playing. Super attentive, great communicator, and very trustworthy. Was very accommodating with the my last minute request. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my dog in her care. Thank you so much Kaitlin!

Awesome sitter. Delaney made sure to make Denver feel comfortable and trusting before bringing him into her house and when they did go inside, he was happy to join. Delaney provided much appreciated updates/pictures of Denver during his stay and he left just as happy as when he arrived!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
