I absolutely recommend Larissa for anyone looking for a caring, attentive, kind pet sitter!”

“Our 6 months old puppy was under Lai’s care yesterday. She kept me informed of our little one’s activities, including lots of pictures. She was gracious and understanding of his accidental poop on her carpet. 🥲🤪 Lai was fantastic. I would highly recommend her and leave our little one under her care in the future.”

“Sheila is absolutely wonderful! She provides such a loving and welcoming environment for my puppy, including plenty of fun with her three beautiful dogs. The care he receives is truly top-notch, and he always comes home exhausted after a full day of playing! About: Hi! I'm a dog lover of all sizes. I'll run with your dog, teach them tricks (taught our former dog how to use the clicker and various commands), throw the ball with them, take them on walks and feed them. I'm located in PV by the PV reservoir so I'm always out and about in the neighborhood on runs, etc. I grew up with a Scottish Terrier and have watched German Shepherds, Cattle Dogs, Dashunds, Shiba Inu’s and other Terrier breeds. I've got many books on how to deal with various dog behaviors and it's taught me a lot over the years. Would love to help during the week or if you need someone to assist on the weekends too, that can be arranged. Hope to meet your pooch soon! I’ll be able to balance time as I’m at home most days of the week. I’m pretty flexible with my schedule and can typically make it work. I have a fenced yard and can take care of your pooch inside or outside. If your dog likes to run, I love running with em.
About: I have a 25lb goldendoodle named Churro 😊 I currently cannot commit to getting another fur baby; however, would love to watch your furbaby and treat him/her like family 💕 I'm currently a stay-at-home mom with two sweetest boys (one furbaby, one hooman). If I do go out to run errands, I'm back home no more than 2 hrs later. I have a fenced yard and a furfriend + toddler to keep your fur baby company. If you provide a crate, I can easily crate your fur baby for extra protection.
“Dorle was SO wonderful with my dog Arthur. So easy to work with, very trustworthy, and gave me lots of updates throughout the day. Her house is dog HEAVEN. Wish I could stay with Dorle and Arthur could go to work. Thank you so much!”

“Sara + Jose are Amazing! Our Puppy Bowie loves it there with his doodle buddies. They are caring, kind, flexible, and great communicators. We are so grateful to have them for Bowie.”

“This was my first time leaving my dog with a non-family member when I went away for the day and Perla made it a good experience for me and my dog. She kept me updated throughout the day with his progress and how he was settling in and sent plenty of pictures. I really appreciate everything she did to put me at ease about leaving him. When I picked him up for the day he even got to keep the toy he enjoyed playing with while he was there for the day. I will definitely be using Perla again to watch my dog when we go out of town.”

“Armando was terrific! My 35 lb 2-year-old had stitches and needed to be kept calm and supervised for a couple days that we were unable to stay home with him. Armando was available on short notice and asked the right questions about what sort of care was needed (one of his dogs had just gone through a similar experience). His dogs were very sweet and he took terrific care of my boy both days, lots of play and socialization while keeping it nice and easy. Stitches came out on schedule after and he's healing up nicely. Thank you Armando!”

“Traci was a great sitter! She acommodated us last minute when our other sitter canceled on us last minute. She took good take of our dog taking him on walks and sending us pictures and videos.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a child. We had 3 dogs, unfortunately they all passed due to old age recently. We would love having your dog as part of our family while the visit. I treat them like my own kid, lots of play, cuddle, balls and going on nice walks. Dogs have been a big part of how I describe who I am, I also rescue dogs and help them find loving forever homes. We have a huge fenced yard and leave close to a park, we love to go on walks and stay active. I currently work part-time so I have the ability to mindfully attend to your fur baby. I am also a very organized person and send updated timely with photos. I have a super large fenced large and lots of tennis balls (left overs from my dogs who passed last year). I also have a park 5 min from my house.

“Kimberly was awesome! She was very accommodating to my last minute request for a sitter. She sent plenty of photos and updates of my puppy and took her on 3 big walks! I love that she has a fenced yard for my dog to run around in. My pup came home very tired, which is a great indicator that she had a fun day. I will definitely use Kimberly again and would recommend her to anyone!”

About: I love dogs and have always enjoyed taking care of them. I have experience caring for pets belonging to family, friends, and people I know, including feeding them, playing with them, taking them on walks, and making sure they are safe and comfortable. I am responsible, patient, caring, and attentive. I will treat every pet like they are part of my own family and will always follow the owner’s instructions to make sure their pet is happy and well cared for. I am available to care for pets with a flexible schedule. I can provide feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and attentive care while following each owner’s instructions and routine. I provide a safe, calm, and caring environment for every pet. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, pay close attention to their needs, and always prioritize their safety and comfort.
About: Accountant at big 4 looking to walk your dog while studying for CPA exams. I have two rescued dogs on my own (not at home). Would love to walk or babysit your baby! I’m currently studying for exams from home, which gives me a super flexible schedule. I’m also an avid runner, so staying active is part of my lifestyle. Whether it’s a walk, a jog, or just some playful energy, I love making sure your pup gets the movement and attention they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When I meet a new dog, I take time to observe their personality, energy level, and any behaviors that might need extra attention. This helps me understand what kind of care they need and how to create the right environment for them. I adjust our walks, runs, and activities based on what keeps them calm, engaged, and regulated. I choose walking routes and locations that match your dog’s needs, quiet areas for easily overstimulated pets, open spaces for high‑energy dogs, and familiar spots when routine helps them feel secure. If your dog needs to burn extra energy, I make sure they get both physical exercise and mental stimulation so they come home relaxed and satisfied. I also pay close attention to behavior, body language, and triggers to keep every outing safe. Whether it’s avoiding certain dogs, managing reactivity, or reinforcing good manners, I stay focused and intentional. My goal is to create a safe, structured experience that builds trust with your pet and gives you peace of mind. I want life to feel easier for pet owners, and I work hard to help you understand your dog’s needs a little better while giving them the care, consistency, and support they deserve.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rancho Palos Verdes commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
