I currently have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a Mini Australian Shepherd, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes and energy levels. I welcome friendly dogs of all sizes—from tiny pups to large breeds—as long as they are comfortable being handled by someone new. Because every dog is different, I require a meet-and-greet before accepting new clients. For dog walking, I’d like to meet your dog first to ensure we’re both comfortable together and that your dog walks calmly on a leash around people and other dogs. If I’m caring for your dog in my home, a meet-and-greet with my dogs is also required to make sure everyone gets along and feels comfortable. While I have many years of experience caring for dogs, I am not a professional dog trainer or behaviorist. For everyone’s safety, I only accept dogs that are friendly with people and can be safely managed on walks and in new environments. If your dog has a history of aggression toward people or other dogs, I may not be the right sitter for your pet. I love puppies and will take in un-spayed or un neutered young puppies (less than 9 months old), at my discretion. I work remote from home and have the flexibility to visit or walk your dog. I have my own three dogs that hang out with me when I work at my desk. I have some flexibility to take a dog to join us to hang out for the day or night. I walk the dogs every afternoon. I have a fenced yard, three friendly dogs to keep your’s company and an XL crate if needed. If I am dog sitting, I would not leave your dog home alone and unattended. There is shaded patio, artificial turf for running and not getting dirty, I have a magnetic screen so my dogs are free to walk in and out of the house at leisure.

“Zahara and her family were amazing. They took really good care of Zeke. It’s the most comfortable and happy I’ve ever seen him, while being boarded. Zeke is super finicky when it comes to eating and most times partakes in fasting, while being boarded. Zahara took the extra time and care to prepare his food, adding toppings and other goodies, which Zeke thoroughly enjoyed. He ate very well, and did not seem stressed out when we picked him up, and aside from missing us, if he had it his way, I think he would have stayed. Also, I loved that she doesn’t take too many dogs at once. Overall, great experience. We will definitely be back soon.”

Herman got lots of walks, ate well and settled in with her and her dog very seamlessly. Herman usually has leash aggression issues with new people, but Vanessa was able to stop that before it started, which is pretty magical! She clearly loves dogs and has a great relaxed vibe which sets a good tone for a happy stay. About: I begged my parents for a cat when I was 5 and have been a cat person ever since. About: I’ve taken care of primarily neighbors dogs, as well as one cat. One of the dogs I cared for lived to be almost 21 years old. I work part time, so I am usually able to fit dog and cat sitting into my schedule, and can watch them for up to a month. So i am a pro at this I have a well balanced daily routine but if things change i find ways to fit or change plans around to get things done. I currently have two mini Australian Shepard’s and one rescue cat who bring me so much joy, even though they are high energy handfuls! I live in West Adams in close proximity to various parks. About: New to Rover, but not new to caring for pets: I am an empty nester who loves dogs and cats. I’m easy-going and have cared for both puppies and older dogs, and I look forward to keeping your pet safe and happy while you’re away. When I pet sit, I’ll send you lots of photos and videos to reassure you that all is well. I won’t list myself as available on weekends when I know I will be in and out too much to give your pet the attention s/he deserves. I have a small fenced/gated area, and the gate is tall. We have a dog door we can utilize or lock depending on your preference. There is a small section of artificial grass outside. Indoors, dogs are allowed on the couch with me unless you prefer I not allow it. I can walk them in the morning early, usually between 7:00-7:30 am. Afternoon walks are typically between 2:30-4:00. I am flexible with when evening walks happen. Dogs don’t ever have to be crated here, but I can do so if you provide the crate. On the weekends, I can certainly let them out more often than the 4-8 hours indicated on the app. Some weekdays, however, fall within that window depending on my work schedule. I require proof or rabies and other vaccines at the meet and greet, please.

About: My approach with any animal is to use positive reinforcement and a lot of patience. I grew up with dogs, cats and various other animals. I was heavily into 4-H and adopted a wild burro, raised pigs and joined the dog training group with my shelter dog, a German Shepard Samoyed mix. Currently, we have two rescue dogs. Whenever we host our neighbor's dog, all the dogs have a blast and act like they are having a sleepover. In addition to caring for dogs, I also have experience with a diabetic cat that required two daily shots. My husband and I work from home so there is always someone around. We take the dogs out for frequent potty breaks throughout the day. We also live near Valley Park and the green belt which are perfect for longer walks. In addition to my husband, I have two teenage sons who will also be here to play with your pup. We currently have two welcoming adopted dogs, Koko, who is the older wiser pup bringing calm energy, and Mango, who very lovable and wants to be friends with every human and dog. At our condo, the dogs have access to two decks in the back, perfect for quiet naps in the sun, and one deck in the front overlooking all the action that passes by on the street. If your pup likes to play tug-of-war, Mango will happily play and share her toys.
