“Sierra was house sitting our Belgian malinois Ayva. She said right the way that she doesn't have an experience with this type of breed yet. We explained all the details and directions to take while she was here with our dog. It was easy stay with no issues. She sent pictures to us daily to make sure that we know our dog is fine. House was clean as well, which was very important.”

“Red has a warm, relaxed vibe and both my dog and cat were immediately comfortable with him. During a 3 night, 3 day weekend trip, he took great care of both my babies and my home. He adheres to clear direction, and even found new ways to entertain my often high energy pooch. I plan to utilize his service again. Thanks Red!”

“Jackie was great! She pet sit my two dogs and cat. She was communicative and sent photos during my trip. I felt totally comfortable having her in my home and caring for my pet kids. Everyone was happy and relaxed when I got home and my house was immaculate. Highly recommend Jackie and will be booking with her again - I feel lucky to have found her!”

About: Experience with senior dogs that need more special attention due to their diet and medication needs giving them plenty of exercise or playing going on walks and making sure that they get all the attention and love that fur babies need. Currently work part time and available after 2 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Fully available Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. I will have plenty of time to take care of all pets needs whether it’s check-ins, housesitting, walks, feeding and even baths if needed. This all depends on clients wishes and what the fur babies need will be based off of clients comfortability with me being in their own space. My general rule is making sure I leave space(s) clean and respecting others homes and boundaries due to me being a guest and being respectful of property and the safety of pets and fur babies.
“Andwele watched my pup and took the best care of him. He feed and played with my pup and made sure he was ok. I felt confident having my puppy in his care. I would definitely reach out to him again if I ever need a sitter”

About: Hi! My name is Lea, and I'm a college student looking to earn extra income while doing something I enjoy caring for animals. I've helped care for my nana's dogs over the years and currently have a cat of my own. I pride myself on being responsible, dependable, and attentive to each pet's individual needs. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply having someone keep them company, I'll make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I understand that pets are family, and I'll treat yours with the same care and respect that I give my own. I'm currently taking online summer classes, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I can provide regular walks, feedings, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day. I love animals and enjoy making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. When caring for pets, I always follow the owner's instructions closely to make sure their pet's routine stays as consistent as possible. I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect both the pet's routine and the owner's space, keeping everything clean and secure. My goal is to help pets feel comfortable, safe, and stress free while their family is away.
“Sam was absolutely amazing!!! Not only did we provide great updates but she was constantly loving on and playing with our boy. We truly appreciate the care she gave him and our home!!”

“We were very happy with Nicole. She let us know that she had arrived and sent us a nightly check in with a photo. :) She also kept notes about length of walks and eating habits and medication. She was careful to ensure that Brie received her medication. Nicole stayed over nights and the house was left as she found it! We would trust Nicole in the future to take care of our sweet frenchie. We look forward to having her sit again someday. :)”

“So amazing even with my apprehensive pups! They ended up falling in love with her and had the best time! So thankful she was flexible and took our booking even though it was last minute! Absolutely amazing!”

“Jenny took care of our cat & kitten while we were away for 10 days and she was amazing. Kept the place clean, kept us updated, and our cats were happy when we returned. No worries here for our long vacation.”

“You were extremely professional. I hired you to take care of my dog for four days, and you did a wonderful job. You even helped with a few small household chores, which was very thoughtful of you. Thank you so much — I truly appreciate it.”

“WHAT A BLESSING SHE IS!! Yaritza was amazing and kept me updated the entire length of my vacation. So nice to know that someone who cared so much for animals was with my sweet 14 year-old fur baby!! I would hire her again in a second!”

“Munchkin, who is blind, is hesitant being with people other than me. Not the case with Kemoni! At our meet and greet, Munch already had her head resting on Kemoni's knee! While I was gone, I received photos and videos of their adventures...it was such a relief to see them having fun. Highly recommend Kemoni to love on your pet when you're away ♡”

“We have booked Jorie twice to dog/cat/house sit while we’re out of town. For 1 and 2 week long trips. Highly recommend her. Our pets love her and the dog doesn’t like anyone but us, but Jorie won her over easily. It’s also important to trust someone with your home and Jorie leaves our home in perfect condition. We can go on vacation with peace of mind knowing she’s there to watch over our babies.”

She was absolutely amazing with my dogs! From the moment I left, she made me feel completely at ease by sending regular updates and lots of photos, so I always knew they were happy and doing well. She followed every instruction I left, paid attention to all the little details, and truly treated my dogs like they were her own. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were safe, loved, and well taken care of while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable. I would 100% book with her again if she wasn’t moving. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my pups!

I was nervous using someone new and pleasantly surprised at how great of care and attention my home and pets got. I would highly recommend Elizabeth and absolutely reach out to her in the future. My pets were well tended to! She even ran the dishwasher and took out our trash!

Elena was absolutely wonderful! She took exceptional care of our precious schnauzer, Leopold, while we were away. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such loving and capable hands. Elena was excellent with communication, sending us frequent updates and adorable photos that reassured us Leopold was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and treated him like her own. In addition to taking such great care of Leopold, Elena also looked after our home beautifully. We returned to a spotless house and a very happy pup. We highly, highly recommend Elena to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring pet sitter and house sitter. She exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would gladly have her watch Leopold again!
This was the very first time using Rover and Elizabeth was very dependable and reliable. She did a great job of making it easier for us to be away and not worry. The daily photos of the pups really helped ease my anxiety. They pups seem to have enjoyed being with Elizabeth in our home instead of boarding. Thanks Elizabeth!!

Maria stayed with our 2 senior dogs while we were out of the country. We never worried at all about them while we were gone. Maria took such great care of them, kept them in their routine and loved them as we do. She was very detailed and conscientious about their care. It was a seamless transition both leaving and coming home. We highly, highly recommend Maria.

I booked Tony to watch my 3 dogs & cat for the weekend & they all loved him! He was punctual and his communication was top notch. He sent lots of photos, which made me feel reassured knowing my babies were being so well taken care of. I can tell that Tony has a real love for animals as he cared for my babies as if they were his own. I would definitely recommend Tony & will be booking him again!

Dev was a great house and dog sitter! She was very communicative and sent daily photos and videos. Our pup, Judy, seemed calm and happy and had a great time. Dev asked thorough questions about Judy's needs and preferences and did everything she could to keep our anxious girl content.

Chanel exceeded every expectation we had for a dog and house sitter! From day one, she treated our two pups like her own precious family members. Her communication was absolutely stellar: we received beautifully detailed updates throughout our trip, complete with gorgeous photos that made us smile every time. Chanel's genuine love for animals shines through in everything she does. She's reliable, trustworthy, and has such a warm, caring personality. Our dogs were clearly happy and comfortable in her care. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking Chanel again for future trips!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spring Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spring Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spring Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
