Top rated San Pedro house sitters

“If you’re looking for someone who truly understands cats, look no further. We had Amanda stay at our house for a week to look after our cats and home. Our 9 year old quirky kitties can be slow to trust new humans. They have met many sitters over the years but Amanda has proven to be one of their absolute favorites. She knew just what to do to quickly earn their trust and had them literally eating out of her hands within days of our departure. Amanda was kind enough to take time prior to our departure to come meet us and the cats and get a feel for the finer details of their daily routine. We could tell within minutes of meeting her that her calm energy and vibe would jive well with our fur babies. Her level of communication leading up to and during our trip was stellar. We received daily updates, pictures and videos. The cats looked so content in her company. It was as if they did not even miss us. We could not have been more pleased. It really allowed us to enjoy a worry free vacation. Upon our return we found our home just as clean, if not cleaner, than when we left. Our cats greeted us as if we’d been gone only a few hours. A true sign that they did not go without excellent care during our absence. We hope to have Amanda look after our kitties again in the future. She has set the bar very high.”

“Pearl did a great job taking care of my dog and cat. Not only following all the instructions very well, she provides so much comfort for my needy fur babies and provides so many updates so I didnt have to worry while i was out of town. I would to recommend Pearl to my family and friends.”

“LOVE BETHANY!!! She is sweet, amazing with my pups, and extremely responsible. She replied to my inquiry immediately, and scheduled a meeting with me and the dogs for the following day. My difficult pup loved her, and my loving pup was even more excited to have her come over even though I was gone. I had Bethany house-sit for a long weekend, and received numerous photos and updates on my fur babies. I was nervous to leave them at home, but was able to leave with confidence that my babes would be cared for. If I could give 6 stars I would. Thanks Bethany!”

“I cannot recommend Courtnie enough for anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog and cat sitter! From the moment I met her, it was clear how much she genuinely loves animals. She took incredible care of our fur babies as if they were her own, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. ❤️🥰🐶🐈⬛🌟 Courtnie went above and beyond—she sent daily updates with photos and videos, followed all my care instructions perfectly, and even gave my pets extra cuddles and playtime.”

About: I have worked in the animal industry for 16 years running holistic pet supply stores in the Pacific Northwest. For most of these years, I had my loyal companion Roscoe the Pit bull and Baloo the Lynx Point Siamese. I co-owned a pet supply shop in Portland, OR called Meat for Cats and Dogs for 7 years. During my time as a store owner, I formed strong relationships with clients and their pets, many of whom I would pet sit and house sit for. This was a rewarding experience for me because I was able to provide a reliable service to people who were already loyal customers of mine. As a pet sitter I am well versed in pet care in many ways: diet, administering medications, training, activity needs including playtime and any length walk, and the importance of maintaining daily routines. Not having any of my own current pets makes providing overnight services incredibly easy which gives me almost full availability. I currently only work a few weekends a month, doing demo's for a dog food company called California Dog Kitchen. This gives me full Monday-Friday availability (including all overnights), and morning and evening availability on some weekends (still including overnights). Since I am only available to provide care at client's homes, I can follow the animals exact schedule per usual Monday-Friday and on weekends I can provide care outside of the hours of around 11am-6pm.

“Showed up last minute to save the day and went above and beyond for us! We definitely hope to book Brianna again soon! She sent updates throughout and even left late when plans didn't go as hoped! Thank you Brianna!”

“Kyle is a quick responder and very sweet. Our dogs love when he comes to stay. He asked beforehand if it was okay to introduce his dogs to ours and we said yes. The pictures we got of the dogs meeting was probably the highlight of our weekend. We will definitely hire Kyle again!”

About: I’m an enthusiastic animal lover. I have fostered, adopted, and cared for dogs and cats all my life. I have an old lady staffy who is absolutely spoiled. I’d be happy to spoil your pets, too! I work part-time as a substitute teacher. My schedule is flexible and I can usually adjust my teaching hours to accommodate pet walking and sitting. Let me know what you need, and I’ll do my best to make it work for you. I am trustworthy and reliable. I have a fully closed-in yard where dogs are free to roam. Pets are also welcome inside the home, of course! I will stay home all day with your pet to insure their comfort and safety.

“Emily was lovely. She stayed at our home for a long weekend with our 16 year old cat Bear. Bear was very content when we got home and the house was exactly as we left it. Thank you, Emily!”

“José is the best! He takes such great care of our dog Bear. We are so grateful to have found him on rover.com. He sends us lots of pictures and ensures our dog is well fed and gets lots of exercise.”

“Amanda has great communication and was on time. She sent me updates with pictures during her stay with our pups. Definitely beyond satisfied with her service. Thanks Amanda!”

About: As someone newer to Rover, I'd greatly appreciate your business to allow me to start being consistent with the app ☺️ I offer compassionate and attentive care for dogs and cats alike. They'll definitely enjoy our time together staying active and playing. Growing up, I cared for my family dog, who lived a full, healthy life of 20 years, which gave me valuable insights into senior pet care. I know how to handle the attentive needs of senior dogs, including gentle exercise, medication routines, and lots of patience. In addition to dogs, I’m a cat lover, and my cat even knows how to sit and give me a kiss on command! I believe in positive reinforcement and making every pet feel safe, loved, and engaged. Whether it's going for a walk, playtime, or learning a new trick, I’m here to provide the best care. (Yes my cat goes on walks!) I’m excited to meet your furry family members and make sure they feel at home! Pet care is a meaningful part of my daily routine. I make time each day for feeding, play, and basic training, while also fitting in weekly tasks like grooming and health check-ins. My goal is to ensure my pet stays happy and healthy without disrupting my schedule. In my home, I prioritize safety and comfort by keeping the environment pet-friendly—secure spaces, accessible water, and safe toys are always available. I use positive reinforcement to build trust and create a stable, stress-free environment, whether for my own pets or others in my care. When visiting a client’s home, I take time to understand the pet’s routine, any safety precautions, and the household’s rules to ensure a smooth, respectful experience that matches the pet’s usual comfort and habits.

“Alyssa was very communicative and took great care of Benji and my house. She sent regular photos of the two of them on walks and left my house clean and tidy. I highly recommend her services.”

“Si-Mon did a housesit for my mastiff Blue! Blue had just had surgery and was in need of help with meds and TLC. So-Mon took excellent care of her and our home. She was responsive and so helpful. We can’t wait to use her again!”

“Kelsey was so great! I had a family emergency and had to book last minute. Her communication was excellent and she took care of my pup just as I would. My place was just as I left it too. I would happily book her again!”

“We needed a sitter for an overnight visit. Julee was on time and took the boyz for a walk right when she got here. Our kitty Tres usually takes several visits to trust anyone. He warmed right up to Julee. The boyz were all well taken care of we will be calling Julee next time.”

About: I love dogs of every type and have been a dog owner and advocate for over 20 years. Same for kitties. Some people call me a whisperer :) I'm the person who meets all my neighbors because of walking the dogs, I know the animals names first before the people :) I have been dog sitting/caring for years; often too with friends who also are pet owners, to help each other. All three of my doggies passed away within a year and half of each other. I'll eventually be a dog mom again, and mine have always been very social, sweet and good with other dogs. But if your doggie likes the company of other dogs, I've got you covered! I have close friends with dogs (ours played all the time) and can have doggie playdates and go to the dog park (on leash) if your doggie likes that. I'll watch your doggies in my house or yours. I have dog beds, blankets, treats, toys, even stairs/ramp if they need help getting on things. They are allowed on my furniture; unless! You don't allow it! I don't get upset by any potty accidents or if they get sick. My place is cozy, doggies always know they're in a doggie home. And they know by my voice - and box of toys! - this is a dog home. Walks, hikes, playtime. I'm diligent about following your direction for whatever your beloved fur baby(s) need - diet, medication /topical treatments, how they are around people and animals, what they like/helps them the most. Adapt easily to their needs - cuddles or not, pets, belly rubs, whatever :) I can bathe them, take them on field trips to the beach, park if they like that. I have a lot of friends who host dog-friendly parties. I keep them on your schedule. If they do anything different/out of the ordinary, I'll let you know. I'm an excellent communicator, so if you like updates and photos you're all set. I have been involved with rescue for 20 years, working with rescues, as an independent rescuer, fostering. I am very active with the community to help abused and neglected animals, networked on social media. I work in events and remote from home. I also have a dog walker/sitter whose been with me for 8 years. She's a high functioning special needs adult, wonderful with animals, so she will pitch in. Care of your pets is 100% joy. I have a cozy place, that has a enclosed front yard, a three foot wall, with a of shrubs for more than half. They love it. Depending on your dog's size, habits (jumper!) I won't leave them unattended. I have a smaller, completely enclosed back area where they can be unattended but only if I'm home. I live in a great walking neighborhood with lots of dogs; and have really good friends nearby with dogs who love playdates. All my friends are dog lovers too. In either my home or yours, I follow your direction for their care, no 'spoiling ' :) I make homemade food too if yours like that. I can crate them, take them to their appointments. I am devoted to their care, feeling loved while you're away, their needs and routine. I currently don't have dogs of my own, my three passed away within a year and half - a chi mix, a terrier mix, and a tiny chi, ages 13, 12, 10. But when I did they were super social, loved other dogs (and cats) and were amazing with fosters.

“Elissa got along with our two dogs very well, giving them good exercise and lots of attention. She was very responsive and understanding. We’ll be in touch when we need a dogsitter again!”

“If I could leave more than 5 I would. Natalia was amazing! Scooby has lots of trauma and she was so sweet and patient with him. So much so that they were friends at the end. She put our mind at ease and was so grateful that she was in such good hands!!”

“Was so happy with Leah’s care of both our dog and our home. We met in advance of our travel and I was immediately comfortable. She was professional, punctual and caring. She sent pics during her stay and was communicative. Things were in great order when we returned home. I will definitely book agsin”
