âErik has a heart and passion for dogs. He's not just a sitter, he's committed to Odin's needs. Odin's breed can be misunderstood and be labeled as difficult by some. Erik has been wonderful at keeping odin on schedule and using the activities I suggest to drain Odin mentally and physically. EVERY time I've come home after Erik's been with Odin, he's been balanced. (Which says a lot as Odin learns to how to navigate his separation anxiety). I feel safe and confident leaving Odin with Erik. I'm sure you will too!â

âJoAnne is wonderful and did a great job with my dog! She gave lots of updates and pictures and always responds super quick. Iâd highly recommend her to anyone!â

âAbsolutely perfect. Jihae watched our three dogs while staying at our house for several nights while we were away. As basically a complete stranger, she went above and beyond what we asked of her, was super communicative, and was overall just perfect. I highly highly recommend.â

About: Hi, Iâm Vanessa! Iâve always had a passion for animals and genuinely enjoy caring for them. I started pet and house sitting for friends and family, and over the past couple of years Iâve also cared for pets through Rover. I enjoy getting to know each petâs personality and making sure they feel comfortable while their owners are away. Cats are my favorite. I love their unique personalities, but I also have experience caring for dogs and birds. Throughout my life Iâve had cats, small and large dogs, and cockatiels, which has given me experience with a variety of pets. I currently have a German Shepherd, so I understand the importance of keeping dogs active, engaged, and well cared for. Iâm dependable, detail oriented, and treat every pet like theyâre my own. I know every pet has their own routine, and Iâm happy to follow it closely, whether thatâs feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box cleaning, giving simple medications, or spending extra time playing and keeping them company. I also enjoy sending updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and helping you feel at ease while youâre away! Iâm a self-employed business owner with a flexible schedule, which allows me to adapt to a variety of pet care needs. I offer weekday and weekend availability and am happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits both you and your pets. I take respect and trust seriously, using positive reinforcement and plenty of love. I follow the rules and guidelines set by owners to maintain consistency and respect boundaries. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable environment where pets feel at ease and provide care that keeps them happy and secure in their familiar surroundings.
âIâm a so happy we chose Ivy. She went over all our pet instructions and loved my fur babies . Ivy sent daily pictures and responded within minutes to any questions or concerns.. She went above and beyond taking care of my house in the process. I trust Ivy and look forward to another wonderful experience choosing Ivy. Thank you so much Ivyâ

âElizabeth is like a spark plug- full of energy and positivity. She is wonderful as a pet sitter and house sitter. She has saved me last minute more than once .She has been wonderful with all my crazy pets. I look forward to having her in my home much more in the future!â

âGabby provided exceptional care for our dog. From our initial meeting, her professionalism and thoroughness were immediately apparent; she asked insightful questions that covered details we hadn't even considered. We truly appreciated the consistent updates and photos she shared throughout the stay. Upon our return, our home was in pristine condition. Furthermore, the training tips she provided have already proven effective. We are incredibly pleased and will definitely be booking her services again!â

âIf possible I will use Allen again! This is the first time I've left my dogs with a stranger and it was a great experience for them and me. Allen sent videos and pictures every day. We were gone for a week and when we returned he'd washed the sheets and vacuumed the house. It was a joy to return home!â
About: Hello! My name Emilly! I am an undergraduate anthropology student and love spending time outside, crafting, and learning. Since I was 14, I have taken care of family and friendâs dogs & cats. I believe that every pet deserves the best of care, and it is of utmost importance to me to accommodate to your petâs individual needs. In order to provide your pet(s) the best care, I might ask about any potential hazards to be aware of - whether behaviorally or environmentally - and take preventative measures to ensure that safety remains a priority.
âCarolyn totally took care of my special needs 15 year old honey bunny Sonny. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Sonny is a bit high maintenance with his health and Carolyn met all his needs. She was active in communicating and let me have some peace of mind while I was away for work. House and pup were great when I got back. Sonny and I thank you Carolyn and we are so greatful.â

âTessa house sat and took care of my 2 cats and 2 dogs while my husband and I were on vacation. One of my dogs has a history of reactivity and Tessa was able to bond with him and all of our pets. She is very thorough and sent constant updates and pictures which I loved. We came home to a clean house and a thoughtful note. We 100% would book Tessa again. She truly cares about treating pets like family and making pet owners feel at ease.â

About: Iâve had dogs for as long as I can remember; Iâve had several of all sizes throughout my life, and they were like siblings to me. I love dogs of all kinds; wherever I go, they seek me out, greet me, and let me pet them. I think thatâs a great sign that I connect with them. I am a freelance videographer and video editor. I set my own schedule, so at any moment I can pause my editing work to go walk dogs or look after my son's cat when he travels. Yes, often. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Walteria
If I could give JoAnne more than 5 stars, I would. We hired her to stay with our Great Dane, Gandalf, for three days while we were camping. He had just had surgery, so this wasnât a typical pet-sitting job. She stayed with him around the clock, administered all of his medications, monitored his recovery, and gave us complete peace of mind. JoAnne kept us updated throughout every day with photos, videos, and thoughtful messages, so we always knew exactly how Gandalf was doing. It was so clear how deeply she understands animals. She has an incredible intuition, endless patience, and a genuine love for the pets she cares for. What completely blew us away was everything she did beyond caring for Gandalf. She unexpectedly cleaned our home, folded our laundry, and even washed all of our bedding so we came home after traveling to fresh, clean sheets. It was such an incredibly thoughtful gesture and something we never expected. Coming home to a happy, well-cared-for dog and an immaculate house honestly felt unreal. JoAnne is the real deal. Sheâs one of those rare people who genuinely loves both animals and people, and it shows in everything she does. We trust her completely and wonât hesitate to book her again. She is an absolute gem, and anyone would be incredibly lucky to have her care for their pets.

Absolutely perfect. Jihae watched our three dogs while staying at our house for several nights while we were away. As basically a complete stranger, she went above and beyond what we asked of her, was super communicative, and was overall just perfect. I highly highly recommend.

Ivy did a fantastic job for us with our dog and cat! This was our first time hiring a housesitter, so she was really patient with us communicating back and forth about our instructions before we left town. Once we left, she was easy to reach if we needed anything and let us know right away when anything was out of the ordinary. She handled the unexpected competently which made us feel at ease. She sent us daily pics and updates, as requested, which was reassuring. When we got home, we found the house was just as we left it and both pets were happy and healthy.

Grace was absolutely amazing. As a first time rover user, she took away all the stress and worry I had leaving my boy alone for the first time. She was communicative, patient, sent daily updates and pictures, and overall was very kind and respectful of our space. We will be sure to use her again.

Sophie is the best! She is very responsive, sends us updates, and a very nice person! Our dog Theo loves her and she cared for him so well. I was nervous booking a sitter because itâs our first time to ever leave our puppy for a long time and she definitely made us feel at ease that she is a reliable and nice person. We will definitely book her again. I highly recommend her! âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸

Jack was beyond wonderful with our very sassy yet loving Cavapoo, Coconut. We were a bit weary about this process and werenât sure what to expect but meeting Jack for the first time along with how he took care of our precious Coconut quickly dissolved any of those apprehensions. He was so timely, attentive, detail-oriented and loving towards Coconut. He demonstrates good judgment and is so kind and considerate. We just really appreciated him. Thank you so much, Jack. We are so grateful to you!!

You wonât regret it if you hire Allen. He is outstanding! Allen easily managed our furry beast. Chloe is a Chinese slaughterhouse rescue and has some serious trust issues but Allen quickly won her over and was giving her belly rubs in no time. He also took great care of our home, leaving it better than he found it! We are so pleased with Allen and will definitely hire him again!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Walteria
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Walteria on Rover is $71.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 14,650 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Walteria. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walteria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walteria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walteria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Walteria. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
