“Sydney was great with our 2 dogs. She sent us lots of pictures and kept us well informed. The house was in perfect shape as well. Already have her booked for our next trip.”

“Reina was great with all of our animals. She is knowledgeable and attentive, and made sure we got lots of pictures and updates when we were away. She stayed at our place and was tidy and left our guest bedroom spotless. Would definitely hire again.”

“JoAnne was amazing. She took my dogs out on multiple walks, let them cuddle up with her while we were gone and we came home to happy dogs! Means so much to have someone we trust with our fur babies when we have to leave town for the weekend! Thank you again so much! Will definitely be booking again.”

“You know those videos where a dog sees its owner for the first time in 3 years and takes off with no cares about anything else besides licking their owner’s face and wagging their whole butt in happiness? That’s what it was like when my pup first met Kristin. He was all over her during the meet and greet. Unfortunately, she was watching him because I had him fixed the day after she met him. But when she watched him she still managed to keep him entertained while also not letting him run around and pop his stitches. She did a good job, my pup loves her, and I would definitely have her watch him again”

“Tyler was a dream! Took such great care of our dog, was a pleasure to communicate with, took great care of the house, and most importantly sent great pics. :) We would definitely hire Tyler again!”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give every pet. As a pet owner and experienced sitter, I’ve cared for dogs through walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting for friends and family. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, from tiny teacup Yorkies to large Dobermans, and I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I’m also a future nurse, so caring for others is at the heart of who I am. My nursing education, combined with volunteer experience in hospitals, hospice, and as a caregiver, has taught me patience, compassion, reliability, and close attention to detail. I bring that same mindset to every pet I care for, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll tailor my care to their needs and keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in caring hands! Pet care fits well into my daily routine because I’m currently a nursing student with a flexible schedule and multiple days available throughout the week. I am able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to each pet and provide reliable, consistent care. I’m available most mornings and after 5 PM on weekdays, with full day availability on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Wednesdays, I’m fully available after 12 PM. My flexible schedule allows me to work around your pet’s routine and provide walks, check-ins, playtime, feeding, and companionship while you’re away. When I care for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping them comfortable and sticking to their normal routine. I know pets feel most secure in their own environment, so I make sure to follow their usual feeding schedule, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions from their owner. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and what makes them feel comfortable. Some pets love attention and play, while others need more patience and space to warm up. I’m happy to provide whatever care they need, whether that’s walks, cuddles, feeding, cleaning litter boxes, or simply keeping them company while their owners are away. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, loved, and well cared for!

“Jasmine is a true gem! This was the fourth time she has taken care of our dogs for walks , and we completely trusted her for a weekend with sleep over both nights . She guided us with the whole process which we were new about it. She suggested first a few walks to get the animals used to her. She watched them from Friday to Sunday, took them on three walks a day, and kept us updated throughout the weekend with photos and messages. She even sent us an update at 7 a.m. when our cat, Osi, woke up for breakfast, which really showed how attentive she is! Also one of my puppies has anxiety separation and is hard to warm up to people. In less than a day I could see on pics how happy and safe my dogs was feeling with her. She knew was our first time leaving our pets at night in our home. She is reliable, caring, sweet and our pets are always happy and comfortable with her. Her prices are also very reasonable, and the level of care she provides is outstanding. You can tell that being a pet sitter comes from nurturing and passion to animals. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!”

“Liz was amazing with my house and especially with taking care of my little zoo. All my animals were happy and fed when I returned home. I love her attitude most of all. She is a special person who really knows animals and how to care for them.”

“My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Europe for 2 weeks and we could not recommend Lillian enough for a house sitter. Our Whippet Niles is an energetic and loving little guy but loves his routine and Lillian went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and stayed on track while we were away going on walks, driving him to daycare, etc. She also sent us check ins everyday with pictures and it made our honeymoon so special and stress free knowing our little guy was so well taken care of ❤️.”

“Henry was more than satisfactory. He really listened to our needs for our doggies. He even came early one day to help out! Very prompt/attentive. We came home to very happy and healthy dogs. One of them has special needs (pills) and he handled that beautifully. We would trust Henry to watch our dogs anytime.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid I used to watch my neighbors dogs. I also managed a dog hotel for five years. I would love to be a dog trainer and I just have such a loving heart for animals. They hold a very special place in my heart. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine, allowing me to provide flexible and attentive care for your furry family members. I currently have an open schedule, which means I can dedicate plenty of time to walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and making sure your pets feel safe and loved while you’re away. I’ve always had a deep love for animals and understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for them. My goal is to give pet parents peace of mind and treat every pet as if they were my own. I am very well trained in dog behavior. I worked at a dog hotel with 800 dogs and managed it. I have a huge heart and no what they need. I would love to come housesit and take care of your pet as if it was my own.
About: I specialize in caring for calm, well-trained, highly independent pets while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-cared-for home. My goal is to follow your pet’s established routine and provide consistent, dependable care while you’re away. I’m a great fit for households with pets that are well-mannered, comfortable with their routines, and able to settle independently. I focus on maintaining the environment your pets are already familiar with, ensuring they remain safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout your absence. As a full-time traveling house sitter that has cared for 25+ homes, pet care is a central part of my daily routine. I intentionally schedule my days around each pet’s established feeding, exercise, play, and care routines while maintaining the home as if it were my own. Because this is my full time focus, I’m able to provide consistent attention, adapt to each household’s preferences, and ensure pets receive dependable care throughout my stay. House and pet sitting gives me the ability to experience new environments while maintaining structure and consistency in my daily life. I genuinely enjoy the companionship and presence of pets in the home. I like learning their personalities, how different animals and breeds interact with their environment, and what helps them feel comfortable and at ease. I also enjoy play, interaction, and building a calm, steady presence with them during a sit. I provide structured, routine based care including feeding, walking, playtime, enrichment, and oral medication when it can be given with ease and cooperation. I value calm, stable home environments with clear instructions and consistent routines. I do best in well maintained, organized homes that are clutter free, odor free, clean, and with minimal excess pet hair buildup. I also appreciate the use of air purifiers when available. While I work remotely and am primarily at home, my work includes focused independent periods, and I check in on pets throughout the day as part of their routine care. A video call (Zoom or Google Meet) is required prior to confirming a sit to ensure a mutual fit for both home and pet care expectations. I appreciate homeowners who are familiar with my profile and come prepared with any questions as well. I am not a fit for: • Highly Velcro pets requiring constant proximity or attention • Aggressive behavior toward humans or other animals • Physical force based handling, training, or behavior modification responsibilities • Daily intensive mess cleanup or unmanaged accidents • Co-sleeping (pets must sleep independently in their own space outside the bedroom) • Frequent last minute changes, unclear schedules, or unstable routines I value clear communication, respectful, hospitable, and well structured sits.
“Carolyn totally took care of my special needs 15 year old honey bunny Sonny. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Sonny is a bit high maintenance with his health and Carolyn met all his needs. She was active in communicating and let me have some peace of mind while I was away for work. House and pup were great when I got back. Sonny and I thank you Carolyn and we are so greatful.”

“Victoria was awesome! She was just what our pups needed while we were away and we felt very safe with her staying in our home. I hope that we found our go-to sitter when we travel in the future!!”

“Out of 5 stars, Alexa gets 10 from me and my boy Blu. This was the first time using the Dog Sitting Service, and since I haven't spent too much time away from my Dog because I got him right before Covid, needless to say, I was extremely nervous about going out of town without him. Alex went above and beyond, and kept my mind at peace. She took tons of pictures which should my boy super happy and super well cared for. Peace of mind goes a long way, and this is an example of doing a job well done. I will definitely be booking the service again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

“Eva was so loving to our dog while we were away. We were able to relax and enjoy our trip without worrying about our pup. She was very responsible, reliable, and communicative. We will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

“Thank you for taking care of Ava & Theo! Sid sent us daily updates and photos. Both pups were well taken care of and seemed happy when we returned. Sid also helped us collect our mail and our home was tidy when we returned. Thank you so much & we’d happily book Sid again!”

“Cynthia was wonderful with Boba! It takes people a bit of time to get used to our dog ( anxiety, likes to know people are around him but limited physical interaction with him ) but Cynthia caught on right away. I’m sure the next time she Boba-sits, he’ll he happy to see her!”

“Judy was great with our 2 dogs. 1 is a very quirky English Springer Spaniel and Judy was able to win her over. The house and dogs were left in great shape. Judy also provided training tips which were much appreciated.”

About: Animals tend to warm up to me quick so we'll be on our merry way with walks, treats and play time :) I usually have a few treats on hand if I know I'll be seeing them often (My dog enjoys hers as soon as I walk in the door) and I've got experience with dog sitting a few fellow friend's like Shih Tzus, Chihuahuas, Lhasa Apso, Schnauzers and even a Chow Chow (She was lazy, so it was a piece of cake! lol) I work in Commercial Real Estate at a Tech company in the day and enjoy taking time out to unwind by staying active with my own dog. Brooke was amazing from the first time she entered my house to meet my dog Lily. Lily took a liking to her right away which is not normal for my little girl. Brooke provided feedback on to how the stay was progressing and sent pictures with updates. Brooke just seemed so natural with my animals and she was beyond professional , arriving on time , asking appropriate questions and leaving my house very clean. I will definitely be booking Brooke again!

It was the first time in our young pups (6 mos and 18 mos) that we needed to leave them😢 but we were very grateful to have found Sid! He was an instant hit with the pups at our meet & greet, so we felt he would be a good match and take great care of our girls and we were right. He was very communicate, sent fabulous pictures and never left us wondering about how things were going. If you are able to book with him your furry friend(s) will be in excellent hands.

Morgan was so fun to meet and speak with. She has a long history of taking care of animals and was not the least bit shy with my mini zoo. Morgan asked important questions regarding my senior pet . She also wanted to know daily routines and feeding schedules. I really enjoyed meeting Morgan and I will definitely book her again!

If I could give JoAnne more than 5 stars, I would. We hired her to stay with our Great Dane, Gandalf, for three days while we were camping. He had just had surgery, so this wasn’t a typical pet-sitting job. She stayed with him around the clock, administered all of his medications, monitored his recovery, and gave us complete peace of mind. JoAnne kept us updated throughout every day with photos, videos, and thoughtful messages, so we always knew exactly how Gandalf was doing. It was so clear how deeply she understands animals. She has an incredible intuition, endless patience, and a genuine love for the pets she cares for. What completely blew us away was everything she did beyond caring for Gandalf. She unexpectedly cleaned our home, folded our laundry, and even washed all of our bedding so we came home after traveling to fresh, clean sheets. It was such an incredibly thoughtful gesture and something we never expected. Coming home to a happy, well-cared-for dog and an immaculate house honestly felt unreal. JoAnne is the real deal. She’s one of those rare people who genuinely loves both animals and people, and it shows in everything she does. We trust her completely and won’t hesitate to book her again. She is an absolute gem, and anyone would be incredibly lucky to have her care for their pets.

Highly recommend Victoria. We had to change our boarding plans last minute due to one of our older dogs having to recover from a medical emergency and opted to use Rover. Plus we have another dog to manage during all this. Victoria came in and just instantly bonded and calmed our energetic pups. She took notes and asked great questions to get to know our dogs. She checked in the days leading up and morning of which put us ant ease as we’re were having her house sit while we were out of the country for 10 days. She kept us up to date with daily pictures and check-ins. She let us know if we she needed to adjust some of care notes or as concerns came up. We came home to happy and healthy dogs.

This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with Mindy. She was incredibly communicative throughout her stay at our home and kept us updated the entire time. Our dog absolutely loved her, and it was such a comfort to receive so many pictures while we were away. Seeing those updates made missing our dog a little easier. Mindy took wonderful care of both our home and our dog, and we felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such good hands. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and all around amazing pet sitter.

Sam was amazing! She took such great care of Prince and Teddy and kept us updated throughout the stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was kind, reliable, and clearly loves animals. We would absolutely book with her again. Thank you!! 🐶💕

She did well taking care of our very energetic Boxer pup. She sent us a picture and provided an update. When we arrived back home the house was in order. Usually or pup gets zoomies and will move the area rugs or coffee table. We would definitely book her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Redondo Beach on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 14,135 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Redondo Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Redondo Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Redondo Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Redondo Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Redondo Beach. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
