“Andrea is a great dog and house sitter. The dogs are well cared for and she left the house as if she was never even here! She is a great communicator and provides updates regularly. So happy to have found her!”

“We were nervous for our 10 day trip since we’ve never left our dog for so long, but Julie made us feel so comfortable! She is very reliable and really cares. She sent a lot of updates the whole time and we could tell our dog really warmed up to her! She also left our place spotless. Highly recommend her - we already booked her for our next trip. Thank you again Jules!!”

“Jasmine has been watching Zuko since he was small and he loves her! She's very patient and kind with our pup. She follows our instructions for his care and sends updates with photos often. She left our apartment nice and clean as well. Will definitely continuing working with Jasmine!”

“Sarah and Karl did a great job looking after our dog and cat for the day and night. They followed all of our instructions carefully and were gentle in their approach to the animals. Both pets seemed well-cared for, which made the experience smooth and reassuring. We’re happy with how they handled everything.”

“I am so happy that I had Liana care for my dog Sparky. Sparky is a geriatric special needs dog that needs medication for heart disease 6 times a day. He also has degenerative disc disease so needs help going up steps and lifting him. Liana was tender and lovingly caring for Sparky, knew where he was all the time he was in her care. I highly recommend her without any reservations. I was totally at ease knowing Liana was cring for Sparky.”

“Hannah was amazing! This was a very last minute booking for our 4 mth old Mini Austrialian Sheppard Hank ( within a hour) and Hannah responded right away. She was great with his high energy and kept him very entertained throughout the evening. He slept so well he was worn out! I would call on Hannah again next time we need a sitter. I highly recommend her also!”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Wisconsin surrounded by pets, animals, and farms, and have more than 20 years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all kinds. My family has always had pets, and I was helping with their care practically as soon as I could walk! I have experience with dogs of every size, from tiny breeds to gentle giants, and at every stage of life, from energetic puppies to sweet seniors. I have an especially soft spot for older animals and understand the extra patience, attention, and gentleness they sometimes need. I’m also comfortable giving oral medications, applying routine flea and tick treatments, and checking for and removing ticks. And I’m definitely not just a dog person! I’ve grown up around and cared for cats, birds, rabbits, hamsters, and other small animals, and I’m very comfortable in homes with multiple kinds of pets. Most importantly, I know pets are family. I also know how much trust it takes to leave them and your home in someone else’s care. Whether your pet needs a long walk and plenty of playtime, a quiet companion to keep them company, or just someone patient enough to let a senior pup take their sweet time, I’ll care for them with the same attention and affection I’d want for my own. My schedule is currently very flexible, which allows me to make pet care a real part of my day rather than something I have to squeeze in around work. I’m active, outdoorsy, and love being outside, so walks and playtime are a natural fit for me! I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting, and I’m happy to work with your pet’s usual routine whenever possible. After years of balancing school and a professional career, I’m very organized, dependable, and genuinely excited to use my extra time to help care for pets in my community. I live in a pet-friendly two-bedroom condo surrounded by beautiful, expansive grounds, including a park right within our community. My neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and low-traffic, with plenty of nearby parks, dog-friendly areas, and even the beach just a short walk away, so there are lots of options for safe walks and outdoor time depending on your pet’s needs and energy level. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I’ll always follow their normal routine and your instructions closely. I know every animal is different, and I’m happy to adjust walks, playtime, feeding, medication, and downtime to what makes them most comfortable. Safety and trust come first, and I’ll treat your pet and your home with the same care and respect I would my own.
“Marie is an absolute treasure. I don’t think I could ever leave my dogs with anybody else. She loves them like they are her own and I’ve never felt so comfortable traveling, knowing that they were so well cared for. I cannot recommend her enough. She’s truly the absolute best. ❤️❤️❤️”

“Marianna was such a great sitter! She took care of my house, leaving it more put together than before I left. She took out my trash, figured out the high tech litter situation, sent me cute pictures and even left me with a little card and Polaroids of my kitties. My cats were so mellow and happy when I came home. Seeing pictures of them piled on top of her left me feeling so secure that they were comfortable. I would highly recommend Marianna.”

“Kevin did a fantastic job taking care of our dog and cat for a week. He communicated consistently and left the house very clean. It meant so much to know our home and pets were in good hands while we were away!”

“Eva was so loving to our dog while we were away. We were able to relax and enjoy our trip without worrying about our pup. She was very responsible, reliable, and communicative. We will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

“Marianne was available on short notice and got us out of a tight spot when another sitter fell thru. She was patient with our Beau who can be loud when meeting new people and takes some time to warm up to people. She was able to connect with him in the first 20 minutes and was smooth sailing after. She was thoughtful and asked for information on how to take care of him and our senior cat Tuzo too, as well as what signs to look for that could be a health issue with him. Will gladly reach out to her when we need another sitter in our visits to LA.”

“Daylin was polite and thorough with her questions about our elderly dogs when we first met. She did a great job taking care of them and making sure they received their medications. She also regularly sent great pictures to keep us assured that our dogs were doing well. She also left our house clean. We would hire her again. Thank you, Daylin!”

About: I’ve always been obsessed with dogs for as long as I can remember. I got my first dog when I was 6, and she became the love of my life. I cared for her until I was 19. She was my best friend, part of my daily routine, and went everywhere with me. Since then, I’ve had two rescue dogs, Nani (6) and Lupita (2), who are my whole world. My pets are truly family! They sleep with me, have birthday parties, and are treated with all the love and care they deserve. Because I know how hard it is to trust someone with your biggest treasure, I care for every pet as if they were my own. All my friends always leave their dogs with me when they travel because they know how much love and attention I give to every animal. I have experience walking, bathing, grooming, and playing with dogs of all ages. I’ve also trained my own dogs to follow simple commands like sitting, catching the ball, and peeing on command. I have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs, my first dog had cancer, and I made sure her final years were full of love and comfort. I run my own business from home, so I have a super flexible schedule! I’m home most of the day, which means your pets will always have company, attention, and lots of love. I can easily adjust my routine for walks, drop-ins, or overnight care. I don’t host pets in my home because I need to respect my older dog, Nani, she’s super sweet but takes time to get comfortable around new dogs. Instead, I offer house sitting and walks at the client’s home. This way, your pet can stay relaxed in their own space, following their routine and getting all the love and care they need.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - El Segundo
Ashley was great! She was very interactive, and sent me updates and pics of my 2 pets while I was gone. My dog has a bit of sep anxiety which she handled like a champ. At no point on my trip was I nervous about being away, and thats such a huge deal for me. The apartment was left in perfect shape, I couldn't even tell someone was there for 3 days! Thank you Ashley for the great Rover experience <3

WHAT A GEM! I reluctantly want to write our rating because she is truly wonderful and we want her all to ourselves! haha Kristen is incredibly professional, attentive and a wonderful communicator. She is everything we could have asked for and more. We had a dog recovering from a serious surgery with a list of meds and an elderly dog that needs attention, which she handled with absolute grace and confidence. A wonderful person who we look forward to working with again.

Chyna was fantastic! Took amazing care of our two pups – both are rescues, anxious, and a challenge to walk. Chyna went above and beyond, giving them extra love and extra exercise – sending lots of pics. And our place was beyond immaculate upon our return, going so far as to do change sheets & do laundry. Highly recommend her & look forward to having her care for our dogs again💕

Josh and Fi are wonderful and have watched our pets for drop-ins, long trips, walks, etc and have taken care of them through health issues and sicknesses. They are the most reliable, responsible, and communicative sitters and we are sooo thankful to have them!

I reached out to Lolita last-minute when my pup was sick and couldn't attend his regular doggy daycare, and I'm grateful she was available! She kept me updated throughout the day, was kind, and took wonderful care of him. My pup was excited to see her on day 2, which speaks volumes. I would not hesitate to book her again!

Rebecca is truly a person that you can trust. She sat for our pets at home for 3 weeks. She scrupulously applied all the gestures and followed the timelines that we asked from her. Our pets were sad to see her leave. We highly recommend Rebecca and will use her services again for sure

Julie did a great job taking care of Waldy while we were out of town. We met beforehand to walk through his routine, and she was very thoughtful, communicative, and attentive throughout the stay. She sent lots of photos and updates, which we really appreciated, and we came home to a happy dog and everything in perfect shape. We’re very grateful for her help!

This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with Mindy. She was incredibly communicative throughout her stay at our home and kept us updated the entire time. Our dog absolutely loved her, and it was such a comfort to receive so many pictures while we were away. Seeing those updates made missing our dog a little easier. Mindy took wonderful care of both our home and our dog, and we felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such good hands. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and all around amazing pet sitter.

As of September 2026, there are 13,964 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across El Segundo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred El Segundo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in El Segundo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in El Segundo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
