“Brittney did an amazing job taking care of our Frenchie and our home while we were away. Her communication was consistent, thoughtful, and always kept us informed. We especially loved getting the adorable photos and updates of our little pup throughout the stay. We came home to a happy doggie and a well cared for house, and we would absolutely book Brittney again!”

“Eva was so loving to our dog while we were away. We were able to relax and enjoy our trip without worrying about our pup. She was very responsible, reliable, and communicative. We will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

“Sydney was great with our 2 dogs. She sent us lots of pictures and kept us well informed. The house was in perfect shape as well. Already have her booked for our next trip.”

“This is my second booking with Flo & Sid, and this is experience was just as great as the first time. Sid took care of our dog Jeff for 4 days, and provided us with real time updates and photos throughout each day. Jeff went on so many walks, and enjoyed daily cuddles with Sid. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely book Flo & Sid again whenever we’re in need of a sitter!”

“Sam was truly amazing. We needed a sitter for our two dogs very last minute and she responded to my request almost immediately. She was able to do a meet and greet same day before we left the next day. She sent pictures daily with lots of wonderful updates. She cared for our dogs (and home) with so much love and thoughtfulness. We recommend Sam to anyone looking for a kind, thoughtful, responsible dog sitter.”

“When I say, Haylee is amazing. I truly mean it. She was so informative and considerate of letting me know what was going on while she was cat sitting. And I love that she sent me pictures during the stay. I will definitely be booking her again in the future.”

“Andrew was great! He stayed with our Violet overnight and kept her fed and walked. She is typically a nervous pup so I was worried about leaving her with someone, but she seemed happy and content when we returned. Our internet went out the whole time Andrew was here, and he was very easygoing about it. We would definitely have him back!”

“Ruth was amazing!!! She stayed with Zeus for 8 days. He loved her. She had a lot of patience. She would always communicate with me. Friendly. You can tell she has a love for what she does. Zeus has some anxiety but with Ruth he was fine. She is the new sitter for him and we will definitely be working with her in the near future. We recommend her to any fur parents. I was so nervous but at the end it was the best decision!! Thank you!!”

“Grace was absolutely amazing. As a first time rover user, she took away all the stress and worry I had leaving my boy alone for the first time. “Indra was phenomenal. We were out of town and Eevee had a case of severe stress colitis while we were away, but Indra handled it very well and went above and beyond what was expected of her. It was the first time in our young pups (6 mos and 18 mos) that we needed to leave them😢 but we were very grateful to have found Sid! He was an instant hit with the pups at our meet & greet, so we felt he would be a good match and take great care of our girls and we were right. He was very communicate, sent fabulous pictures and never left us wondering about how things were going. If you are able to book with him your furry friend(s) will be in excellent hands.

Jasmine is a true gem! This was the fourth time she has taken care of our dogs for walks , and we completely trusted her for a weekend with sleep over both nights . She guided us with the whole process which we were new about it. She suggested first a few walks to get the animals used to her. She watched them from Friday to Sunday, took them on three walks a day, and kept us updated throughout the weekend with photos and messages. She even sent us an update at 7 a.m. when our cat, Osi, woke up for breakfast, which really showed how attentive she is! Also one of my puppies has anxiety separation and is hard to warm up to people. In less than a day I could see on pics how happy and safe my dogs was feeling with her. She knew was our first time leaving our pets at night in our home. She is reliable, caring, sweet and our pets are always happy and comfortable with her. Her prices are also very reasonable, and the level of care she provides is outstanding. You can tell that being a pet sitter comes from nurturing and passion to animals. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!

Henry was more than satisfactory. He really listened to our needs for our doggies. He even came early one day to help out! Very prompt/attentive. We came home to very happy and healthy dogs. One of them has special needs (pills) and he handled that beautifully. We would trust Henry to watch our dogs anytime.

Morgan was so fun to meet and speak with. She has a long history of taking care of animals and was not the least bit shy with my mini zoo. Morgan asked important questions regarding my senior pet . She also wanted to know daily routines and feeding schedules. I really enjoyed meeting Morgan and I will definitely book her again!

Jackie was amazing! She took such good care of our dog while we were gone for over 2 weeks. We hate leaving him, but felt very grateful to have such a responsible and loving person with him. We got regular updates and pictures. She even got him extra treats and gave him a bath. We hope Jackie will come back next time to watch our doggie!

Indra stayed at my house for a week and watched my two dogs. I was very nervous because I had a 3 month old puppy that I was still potty and crate training. Indra sent photos and videos every day of the pups, watered my plants and took care of my house. She is very responsible and what I especially appreciated was she was committed to staying with my dogs and didn’t leave them for too long alone. I would highly recommend her and, in fact, I hired her the following weekend to watch the pups again.

This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with Mindy. She was incredibly communicative throughout her stay at our home and kept us updated the entire time. Our dog absolutely loved her, and it was such a comfort to receive so many pictures while we were away. Seeing those updates made missing our dog a little easier. Mindy took wonderful care of both our home and our dog, and we felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such good hands. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and all around amazing pet sitter.

Sam was amazing! She took such great care of Prince and Teddy and kept us updated throughout the stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was kind, reliable, and clearly loves animals. We would absolutely book with her again. Thank you!! 🐶💕

Kristin is a god send!! My boys are big dogs with so much energy and sometimes some behavior issues. Not only did she get them to behave on walks, she has helped with some of their reactivity. She plays with them and loves on them so much and they get so excited when she comes over. And she’s an incredibly sweet woman. 12/10 would recommend!!!

She did well taking care of our very energetic Boxer pup. She sent us a picture and provided an update. When we arrived back home the house was in order. Usually or pup gets zoomies and will move the area rugs or coffee table. We would definitely book her again.

Brittney did an amazing job taking care of our Frenchie and our home while we were away. Her communication was consistent, thoughtful, and always kept us informed. We especially loved getting the adorable photos and updates of our little pup throughout the stay. We came home to a happy doggie and a well cared for house, and we would absolutely book Brittney again!

I can't say enough great things about Josephine! I was nervous to leave my fur baby for 2 weeks, but Josephine helped us both feel at ease when I was away. I received daily detailed updates and photos, and my dog seemed to feel safe and relaxed in her care. I am so glad I found her!

Lara swooped in last minute to take care of our duo - a high energy Aussie and a Chihuahua — which together are a lot of doggie love. She was communicative and even replaced a Frisbee when one went over the fence (we said it was OK to leave it!) Would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lawndale on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 14,532 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lawndale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lawndale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lawndale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lawndale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lawndale. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
