“This lady is amazing. She came to our rescue when our hotel advised us our dog could not.go unattended for any amount of time. She was fast to respond and arrive on the scene. She kept me updated with pics. Pinto was scared at first as this was his first time being with a sitter but I soon received pics of him chilling with her. Thanks a million from me and pinto for visiting us! 🙂”

“Amelia is the real deal. She is great with my animals which is saying a lot because I have a bipolar cat that fell in love with her immediately, an energetic large pup that is still in training and a senior 95lb pitbull that doesn’t always love the puppy’s need for attention. All of my kids warmed up to her immediately. I am so happy to have met her and trust her implicitly with my fur babies.”

“Tyler was a dream! Took such great care of our dog, was a pleasure to communicate with, took great care of the house, and most importantly sent great pics. :) We would definitely hire Tyler again!”

“Mindy was our first pet-sitter for our new puppy for a whole day and she did an amazing job! She sent plenty of photos and updates, gave us great advice for our new puppy, and helped make us feel like our puppy was well taken care of and happy. We would happily use her again!!”

“Josephine was responsive and accommodating during the booking and pre-stay period. She was also great at sending photos and communicating during the stay. I also appreciate that she has cats. Highly recommend!”

“Sydney was absolutely incredible. She watched our dog, Cody, over Thanksgiving and we felt completely at ease with her staying in our home. She’s responsible, trustworthy, and genuinely knows what she’s doing with dogs. Her dog Riley stayed with Cody and the two of them became best friends—walking together, playing together, even napping side by side. Sydney handled their introduction perfectly and brought a doggie gate to make sure they were safely separated at first. Everything she did was thoughtful and professional. Cody is a German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix and Riley is a Golden Retriever, and they got along beautifully thanks to Sydney’s calm, experienced approach. We’re so grateful for her care and will 100% use her again in the future. Highly, highly recommend Sydney!”

“Daylin was polite and thorough with her questions about our elderly dogs when we first met. She did a great job taking care of them and making sure they received their medications. She also regularly sent great pictures to keep us assured that our dogs were doing well. She also left our house clean. We would hire her again. Thank you, Daylin!”

“Carolyn totally took care of my special needs 15 year old honey bunny Sonny. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Sonny is a bit high maintenance with his health and Carolyn met all his needs. She was active in communicating and let me have some peace of mind while I was away for work. House and pup were great when I got back. Sonny and I thank you Carolyn and we are so greatful.”

“Julie was wonderful! She followed all my instructions when it came to my little senior fur baby & treated him like her own. She’s reliable, responsible & caring. I’d highly recommend her for your pet!”

“Lucky had a wonderful time with Lizett! Lucky is still adjusting to his life after being rescued off the streets, but he connected with Lizett instantly. She took him on many walks, which is he loves! She sent me pictures while I was away, so I was extra peaceful knowing Lucky is in good hands. She fed him and made sure to give him lots of cuddles. I am definitely going to get her to watch Lucky again.”

“Piper is amazing. My cat Ruprecht can be very shy, but he was really comfortable with Piper, which I know because she sent me plenty of pictures. She’s great with animals and professional with humans!”

“Lillian watched our dog, Cleo, for 4 days while we were out of town. She went above and beyond while taking care of our girl! I could tell she really took the time to get to know our dog and made sure that all of her needs were met. Not only were her needs met but Lillian took the time to play extra with Cleo, took her for long walks, and gave her lots of love. Lillian gave me very thorough updates every morning and evening updating me on how things were going and what they did that day. She attached tons of pictures which were so fun to see! It looked like Cleo was having a blast with her new friend. Cleo is also a bit of a handful and I thought Lillian handled her perfectly. She followed all of the rules we had laid out for Cleo and was very respectful. Lillian stayed at our house while we were away and when we got back I swear the house was nicer than when we left it!! Overall, we absolutely love Lilian and trust her to watch Cleo at anytime. She really gave us peace of mind!”

“Sid was an excellent dog/house sitter for our 15lbs pomchi while we were out of town for a week. He spent considered effort during the meet and greet to befriend our pup, and during the actual stay he was incredibly communicative which put our minds at ease. I recommend Flo and Sid to anyone looking for a dog sitter, and we hope to use them again in the future.”

“Liz was amazing with my house and especially with taking care of my little zoo. All my animals were happy and fed when I returned home. I love her attitude most of all. She is a special person who really knows animals and how to care for them.”

“First time with Stephanie house-sitting for my 15yo beagle and it was a huge success! Great communication, easy and flexible. Stephanie followed all instructions to a tee and I came home to a happy pup and a pristine home, will definitely book again!”

“Kebri was excellent. Mochi was very comfortable having her in our home. Kebri is patient and communicative. She understands Mochi being blind and almost deaf took a different mind of attention. I will for sure hire her again.”

“Jasmine is a true gem! This was the fourth time she has taken care of our dogs for walks , and we completely trusted her for a weekend with sleep over both nights . She guided us with the whole process which we were new about it. She suggested first a few walks to get the animals used to her. She watched them from Friday to Sunday, took them on three walks a day, and kept us updated throughout the weekend with photos and messages. She even sent us an update at 7 a.m. when our cat, Osi, woke up for breakfast, which really showed how attentive she is! Also one of my puppies has anxiety separation and is hard to warm up to people. In less than a day I could see on pics how happy and safe my dogs was feeling with her. She knew was our first time leaving our pets at night in our home. She is reliable, caring, sweet and our pets are always happy and comfortable with her. Her prices are also very reasonable, and the level of care she provides is outstanding. You can tell that being a pet sitter comes from nurturing and passion to animals. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!”

“Allen is an awesome dog sitter! We have two high energy doodles, one of whom is blind, and he took really good care of them while we were away. He sent plenty of pictures and videos which gave us peace of mind and when he left, they were standing at the guest bedroom door looking for him. We highly recommend Allen!”

I reached out to Lolita last-minute when my pup was sick and couldn't attend his regular doggy daycare, and I'm grateful she was available! She kept me updated throughout the day, was kind, and took wonderful care of him. My pup was excited to see her on day 2, which speaks volumes. I would not hesitate to book her again!

Lynzie was great. She kept us updated with cute photos and kept the house in great shape. She was also very responsive and responsible. She offered to go the extra mile with respect to things around the house. It was very helpful. We were gone for a while and she made everyting much easier. We would definitely use her again.

Brooke was amazing from the first time she entered my house to meet my dog Lily. Lily took a liking to her right away which is not normal for my little girl. Brooke provided feedback on to how the stay was progressing and sent pictures with updates. Brooke just seemed so natural with my animals and she was beyond professional , arriving on time , asking appropriate questions and leaving my house very clean. I will definitely be booking Brooke again!

Rebecca is truly a person that you can trust. She sat for our pets at home for 3 weeks. She scrupulously applied all the gestures and followed the timelines that we asked from her. Our pets were sad to see her leave. We highly recommend Rebecca and will use her services again for sure

Morgan was so fun to meet and speak with. She has a long history of taking care of animals and was not the least bit shy with my mini zoo. Morgan asked important questions regarding my senior pet . She also wanted to know daily routines and feeding schedules. I really enjoyed meeting Morgan and I will definitely book her again!

Julie did a great job taking care of Waldy while we were out of town. We met beforehand to walk through his routine, and she was very thoughtful, communicative, and attentive throughout the stay. She sent lots of photos and updates, which we really appreciated, and we came home to a happy dog and everything in perfect shape. We’re very grateful for her help!

Highly recommend Victoria. We had to change our boarding plans last minute due to one of our older dogs having to recover from a medical emergency and opted to use Rover. Plus we have another dog to manage during all this. Victoria came in and just instantly bonded and calmed our energetic pups. She took notes and asked great questions to get to know our dogs. She checked in the days leading up and morning of which put us ant ease as we’re were having her house sit while we were out of the country for 10 days. She kept us up to date with daily pictures and check-ins. She let us know if we she needed to adjust some of care notes or as concerns came up. We came home to happy and healthy dogs.

This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with Mindy. She was incredibly communicative throughout her stay at our home and kept us updated the entire time. Our dog absolutely loved her, and it was such a comfort to receive so many pictures while we were away. Seeing those updates made missing our dog a little easier. Mindy took wonderful care of both our home and our dog, and we felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such good hands. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and all around amazing pet sitter.

Sam was amazing! She took such great care of Prince and Teddy and kept us updated throughout the stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was kind, reliable, and clearly loves animals. We would absolutely book with her again. Thank you!! 🐶💕

She did well taking care of our very energetic Boxer pup. She sent us a picture and provided an update. When we arrived back home the house was in order. Usually or pup gets zoomies and will move the area rugs or coffee table. We would definitely book her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Manhattan Beach on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manhattan Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manhattan Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manhattan Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
