“Brittney was a dream! She watched our 1 year old dog dash who’s got some funny sleeping habits and she cared for him with some much love and patience! Took him round with her so he wasn’t lonely and even took him on a beach walk, all the things he’s loves to do with us :)) 10 out of 10 would recommend Brittney and she left the house exactly the way we left it!”

“Daylin was a tremendous dog sitter for our beagles, Slate and Astoria. My wife and I were in Las Vegas for a long weekend, and she took incredible care of them the entire time. She sent regular photos and videos, kept us updated, and made sure they felt safe, comfortable, and well-loved. You can tell she genuinely enjoys spending quality time with the dogs she watches. We’d absolutely book with her again!”

“Aileen was wonderful. This was the first time we used Rover and first time our pet needed a sitter. Aileen stayed at our home and took very good care of our 10yr old pet and our home. She sent us pics and also gave our pet a special little birthday snack we had left. I highly recommend Aileen.”

“Grace was absolutely amazing. As a first time rover user, she took away all the stress and worry I had leaving my boy alone for the first time. She was communicative, patient, sent daily updates and pictures, and overall was very kind and respectful of our space. We will be sure to use her again.”

“Indra was phenomenal. We were out of town and Eevee had a case of severe stress colitis while we were away, but Indra handled it very well and went above and beyond what was expected of her. Her compassion shows and Eevee was so thankful for all the help she provided. She kept in touch with us through videos/text and photos so we knew out furbaby was in good hands.”

“Zakiya was wonderful. She helped our 6 month old pup through his first sit. She was very patient and compassionate with him. She was very detailed in her write up for his it and was very careful to maintain hi training. We very much appreciated her excellent care of our pup. We will definitely love to book Zakiya again”

“JoAnne was soo good with my pets! I came back to these happy pets and a clean house ♥️. Awesome feeling! My pets were very comfortable with her.. my dog needed some extra care for his ear.. she took care of him very well! I will definitely use her again! Its so hard to find loving pet sitters.”

“Ruth was amazing!!! She stayed with Zeus for 8 days. He loved her. She had a lot of patience. She would always communicate with me. Friendly. You can tell she has a love for what she does. Zeus has some anxiety but with Ruth he was fine. She is the new sitter for him and we will definitely be working with her in the near future. We recommend her to any fur parents. I was so nervous but at the end it was the best decision!! Thank you!!”

“Wyatt was super accommodating to me not knowing if I needed him last minute and with our irratic appointment schedule at Cleveland Clinic. He was a great sitter and it wasn't easy sitting six hours in a hotel room but Ollie got plenty of love and long walks. I would use Wyatt again and you should too.”

About: Animal lover! I’ve taken care of many different type of pets- big, small, young, and old. I have extra love and patience for seniors pets <3 I’m currently working part time with a somewhat flexible schedule. I’m available all day on the weekends but only available all day on some weekdays. I’ll make sure all food/bathroom areas are clean and home is secured before leaving. I can follow instructions, no matter how specific or silly they can be.
About: I was a dog owner for 15 years; she passed away about 3 years ago. Her beds are so big and comfy I didn't want to throw them away. I had proclaimed this to be a forever dog home! Since then, I began dog sitting for friends from my church. I knew if a dog came over, I would want it to be comfortable. I enjoy learning each dog's personality and needs because all dogs are different. My friend's dog doesn't like to be pet but loves to sit next to me. I learned that different dogs have different needs and wants. I enjoy spending quality time with dogs through walks, companionship, and learning each dog's unique personality and needs. Some dogs love affection while others prefer quiet company, and I respect and adjust to what makes each dog most comfortable. Dog sitting allows me to provide attentive, loving care while giving dogs a calm and supportive environment. I am working but I make my own schedule. I would take care of your baby just like my own, We would go for a walk at least twice a day. Ill feed once or twice a day, depending on instructions. My mom {Frances} lives right next door, and she is my emergency contact. She loves dogs too. She is a great help if I need to step out for a minute. I do enjoy seeing the dog happy and comfortable, the rest of the day will consist of making that happen. Your pet will get a one on one experience. I will care your pet just like I would do my own. Again, a home away from home. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is take my fur buddy outside. Next is breakfast and play time if it's preferred. I look for direction from the owner on specific things to know and look for to make my fur buddy comfortable. Safety is #1. Every decision is made with safety first in mind. Second is satisfaction for the pet and the owner.
About: I’ve had many pets since I was a child, from cats to chinchillas! Cared for puppies to senior doggos and love them all the same. I own a boba cafe that doesn’t require me to be there from day to day so I have time to look after your fur children. Plenty of love and attention for those that need it. If yours likes to do its own thing that’s no problem as well but will still show love!
“I had an amazing experience with Allen taking care of my dog on short notice. He was very communicative and kept in contact with regular status updates and photos. Not only did he take excellent care of my dog but also went above and beyond to ensure the house was tidy. I highly recommend Allen to anyone looking for a reliable, caring and professional dog sitter. I will definitely be booking again!”

“Laura took such good care of my dog! When Laura left, my dog was whining and looking out the window for a while. She was very flexible, also feeding my hamster from time to time. If you're looking into boarding, Laura's dogs seem to be sweethearts and well-behaved, they were welcoming to my dog and got along very easily. Really appreciated all the cute photo & video updates too. Highly recommend!”

“When I say, Haylee is amazing. I truly mean it. She was so informative and considerate of letting me know what was going on while she was cat sitting. And I love that she sent me pictures during the stay. I will definitely be booking her again in the future.”

“Morgan is wonderful! She is communicative, responsible, and flexible! She took great care of our dog and we got lots of pictures and updates. It is clear she loves animals. We hope she will come back and watch our dog next time!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gardena
Indra stayed at my house for a week and watched my two dogs. I was very nervous because I had a 3 month old puppy that I was still potty and crate training. Indra sent photos and videos every day of the pups, watered my plants and took care of my house. She is very responsible and what I especially appreciated was she was committed to staying with my dogs and didn’t leave them for too long alone. I would highly recommend her and, in fact, I hired her the following weekend to watch the pups again.

Kristin is a god send!! My boys are big dogs with so much energy and sometimes some behavior issues. Not only did she get them to behave on walks, she has helped with some of their reactivity. She plays with them and loves on them so much and they get so excited when she comes over. And she’s an incredibly sweet woman. 12/10 would recommend!!!

I can’t even begin to express how amazing Elle was! She stayed at my apartment for almost 2 weeks with my two cats, which is already a lot to ask, but she went above and beyond with communication and photos and playing with them. They were very happy boys when I got home and had obviously been cared for very well. I can’t recommend her enough.
Aileen is a phenomenal and trustworthy sitter. She house sat for us and took really good care of our high energy German shorthair pointer puppy and our other dog. She follows directions well and it’s clear she really cares for your pets. When we got back, the house was clean and she even washed the bedding. So happy to have had her as our sitter. We came back to chilled out pups and received pics while we were away. They had fun and enjoyed her a lot.

Tony was the absolute best! He was incredibly attentive and caring with my doggos—they loved him. He followed all of my instructions to a tee, kept me in the loop, and always responded quickly. I have an older, injured dog, and he did an amazing job caring for her. I really appreciated his clear communication and the photo updates. I would absolutely book with him again.

Iliana could not be more amazing. She took such wonderful care of our three pups while we were away. Right before her visit, one of our dogs was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was ready to cancel our trip, but Iliana assured me she had everything handled. Iliana took our dog to her vet visit, and stayed on top of all of our dogs’ medication schedules. Iliana made us feel so at ease. She could have not been a more wonderful house and pet sitter. We are so, so grateful to her!!!

Laura took such good care of my dog! Highly recommend!

Jasmin was FANTASTIC. She took such great care of our pup! I like receiving many updates, and she did just that - I got updates throughout the day, everyday. And our dog clearly loved her. She was great with his separation anxiety, and took wonderful care of the house. I highly recommend her - she's wonderful.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gardena on Rover is $54.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 14,830 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gardena. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gardena walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gardena maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gardena choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
