“Daylin was a tremendous dog sitter for our beagles, Slate and Astoria. My wife and I were in Las Vegas for a long weekend, and she took incredible care of them the entire time. She sent regular photos and videos, kept us updated, and made sure they felt safe, comfortable, and well-loved. You can tell she genuinely enjoys spending quality time with the dogs she watches. We’d absolutely book with her again!”

“This lady is amazing. She came to our rescue when our hotel advised us our dog could not.go unattended for any amount of time. She was fast to respond and arrive on the scene. She kept me updated with pics. Pinto was scared at first as this was his first time being with a sitter but I soon received pics of him chilling with her. Thanks a million from me and pinto for visiting us! 🙂”

About: I have 10+ years experience of loving and caring for dogs in varies sizes and breeds! I find peace in taking care of 4 legged fur babies! I’m a recent graduate from Washington DC who just moved back to Los Angeles! I’m saving up to ago back to school for a masters in Environmental Science! I have plenty of free time since I’m out of school this semester. I have a beautiful gated yard and a front porch so dogs can relax and get their sunlight. Pets will be with me at all times even when I’m running errands. I have a dog seat carrier if needed!
“We had Zakiya house sit our newly adopted shelter dog for three days while we were gone on a weekend trip. She was INCREDIBLE. She followed our dog's medication schedule and sent us pictures of our sweet girl every few hours. She took detailed notes on our dog's activities with timestamps, and she left a general behavior report at the end. The house was in perfect condition when we got back. She is incredibly organized. We will be repeat clients!”

“Amelia was a great house sitter. Our pup decided to forget that she’s potty trained and Amelia handled it with compassion, care and patience and we are grateful for that.”

“Aileen did a fantastic job house sitting at our home with our 3 dogs for a week. She met with us prior to our trip for a meet and greet and right away we felt at ease. We were so delighted to have regular updates and photos. She even tended to some of our plants and flowers:-) The thing that sets Aileen apart is her excellent communication skills, her attention to detail, and her love for animals. We will always try to book with Aileen whenever possible.”
“First time with Stephanie house-sitting for my 15yo beagle and it was a huge success! Great communication, easy and flexible. Stephanie followed all instructions to a tee and I came home to a happy pup and a pristine home, will definitely book again!”

About: Hi! My name is Megan, and I'm a college student home for the summer with a flexible schedule thanks to my online classes. I'm a huge animal lover—especially cats—which is why you'll notice a lot of my photos are with cats! I've been caring for my mom's boss's cats for the past 2 years, helped care for and walk my close friend’s two dogs, and am currently walking the lovely Golden Lab on my profile every day in my hometown in the Bay Area. I’m moving to the Los Angeles area on the 29th and will be able for all services in LA after! I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. I may be younger than some sitters, but I'm dependable, patient, and genuinely excited to gain more experience doing something I love. Pet sitting is also helping me fund my college education, so I truly appreciate every pet parent, their booking, and the trust that comes with it. I'll follow your instructions carefully, keep your pet’s routine consistent, and send plenty of photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I’m a very active person in my daily life, so I will have no issues with walking, carrying, or other high energy activities I may need to do with your pet! I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members, thanks for considering me! Once the semester starts and I move back to LA on the 29th, my class schedule will be very flexible, with Tuesdays and Fridays off completely. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I have classes in the morning. My busier day, Monday, only consists of about 4 hours of class from 9-1:30 so, even at my busiest I am available for afternoon and evening services! I always do my best to maintain every pet’s daily routine to make them feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away.. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home for an extended period of time or stopping by for quick visits, I’ll follow your instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and anything else you need. I believe every pet deserves patience, attention, and plenty of love, and I'll make sure they are well cared for. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you are aware of what your pet is up to, and to give you a little peace of mind while you’re away from them!
“Piper was great. She did her best to win over our shy cats. A few more visits and she would have won them over. Would highly recommend to anyone with cats or dogs.”

About: I have been a dog-friend all my life. I have been a pet sitter for many years, both in Portland and Los Angeles. I’ve had dogs most of my adult life. An Australian shepherd (Ghost), a Kelpie (Freyja), and currently a Boxer/Bullie (Princess Leia), and a Staffie (Kylo Ren). While I am not a professional trainer, I have personally trained all of my doggies who all became calm, well-behaved kiddos. Kylo is still in training, as he is newly adopted and just over a year old. My work schedule is flexible, and can mostly be done remotely. I can dedicate much time to the care and/or training of your kiddo. My doggos eat twice daily with at least three trips outside. Kylo is still working on his bravery skills for walks. I am happy to adhere to your preferred schedule for your kiddo(s).
“Marianna was such a great sitter! She took care of my house, leaving it more put together than before I left. She took out my trash, figured out the high tech litter situation, sent me cute pictures and even left me with a little card and Polaroids of my kitties. My cats were so mellow and happy when I came home. Seeing pictures of them piled on top of her left me feeling so secure that they were comfortable. I would highly recommend Marianna.”

“Allen is an awesome dog sitter! We have two high energy doodles, one of whom is blind, and he took really good care of them while we were away. He sent plenty of pictures and videos which gave us peace of mind and when he left, they were standing at the guest bedroom door looking for him. We highly recommend Allen!”

“I can’t even begin to express how amazing Elle was! She stayed at my apartment for almost 2 weeks with my two cats, which is already a lot to ask, but she went above and beyond with communication and photos and playing with them. They were very happy boys when I got home and had obviously been cared for very well. I can’t recommend her enough.”
“Carolyn totally took care of my special needs 15 year old honey bunny Sonny. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Sonny is a bit high maintenance with his health and Carolyn met all his needs. She was active in communicating and let me have some peace of mind while I was away for work. House and pup were great when I got back. Sonny and I thank you Carolyn and we are so greatful.”

“Rose was great. We needed last minute dog sitting. She had quick and great communication throughout the day. Followed all instructions for our pup and even sent pics :) would recommend and use again :)”
“Jehiny was wonderful! She took care of my English bulldog while I was away for the weekend and sent lots of pictures and updates. The house was so clean it looked untouched when I got back! Will definitely have Jehiny back again!”

“Sydney was great with our 2 dogs. She sent us lots of pictures and kept us well informed. The house was in perfect shape as well. Already have her booked for our next trip.”

“Monica is an absolute gem! I haven't left my dogs with a non-family member since before Covid, and I was so nervous to go out of town and leave them with a "stranger." You can absolutely trust Monica with the care of your pets. She provided daily updates and pictures and communication was great. My dogs typically don't have much of an appetite when I'm out of town, so seeing pictures of them eating and coming home to empty bowls shows me how comfortable they were with Monica. She even tidied up the house before leaving. I highly recommend!”

Kristin is a god send!! My boys are big dogs with so much energy and sometimes some behavior issues. Not only did she get them to behave on walks, she has helped with some of their reactivity. She plays with them and loves on them so much and they get so excited when she comes over. And she’s an incredibly sweet woman. 12/10 would recommend!!!

Daylin does so great with my little baby. She gives great updates and communicates well. Our girl loves having her around when we are away. Our girl has a sparkly personality and Daylin handles it so great. We will continue to use Daylin anytime we are away to take care of our baby. Thank you!
Aileen is a phenomenal and trustworthy sitter. She house sat for us and took really good care of our high energy German shorthair pointer puppy and our other dog. She follows directions well and it’s clear she really cares for your pets. When we got back, the house was clean and she even washed the bedding. So happy to have had her as our sitter. We came back to chilled out pups and received pics while we were away. They had fun and enjoyed her a lot.

Camille was absolutely wonderful while caring for our two fur babies. She is incredibly trustworthy, kind, and communicative. She sent us photos and updates throughout the weekend, which really put our minds at ease. Our pets were very comfortable around her, and she even took the time to take our dog to his favorite park, and provided constant play and engagement to both fur babies. Camille also took excellent care of our home and left everything spotless. I can’t recommend her enough! If you’re looking for someone who will truly care for your home and pets, you’ll be in great hands with her.

Tony was the absolute best! He was incredibly attentive and caring with my doggos—they loved him. He followed all of my instructions to a tee, kept me in the loop, and always responded quickly. I have an older, injured dog, and he did an amazing job caring for her. I really appreciated his clear communication and the photo updates. I would absolutely book with him again.

Iliana could not be more amazing. She took such wonderful care of our three pups while we were away. Right before her visit, one of our dogs was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was ready to cancel our trip, but Iliana assured me she had everything handled. Iliana took our dog to her vet visit, and stayed on top of all of our dogs’ medication schedules. Iliana made us feel so at ease. She could have not been a more wonderful house and pet sitter. We are so, so grateful to her!!!

Laura took such good care of my dog! When Laura left, my dog was whining and looking out the window for a while. She was very flexible, also feeding my hamster from time to time. If you're looking into boarding, Laura's dogs seem to be sweethearts and well-behaved, they were welcoming to my dog and got along very easily. Really appreciated all the cute photo & video updates too. Highly recommend!

As of August 2026, there are 14,511 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Athens. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Athens walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Athens maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Athens choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
