“Erik has a heart and passion for dogs. He's not just a sitter, he's committed to Odin's needs. Odin's breed can be misunderstood and be labeled as difficult by some. Erik has been wonderful at keeping odin on schedule and using the activities I suggest to drain Odin mentally and physically. EVERY time I've come home after Erik's been with Odin, he's been balanced. (Which says a lot as Odin learns to how to navigate his separation anxiety). I feel safe and confident leaving Odin with Erik. I'm sure you will too!”

“I’m so happy we found Ji Hae! She’s so communicative and followed all our instructions exactly. Shes experienced with caring for large dogs which was especially helpful for our two pups. It was so nice traveling and knowing she was taking care of our dogs and our home! Definitely will be reaching out again!”

“Liz was amazing with my house and especially with taking care of my little zoo. All my animals were happy and fed when I returned home. I love her attitude most of all. She is a special person who really knows animals and how to care for them.”

“JoAnne was soo good with my pets! I came back to these happy pets and a clean house ♥️. Awesome feeling! My pets were very comfortable with her.. my dog needed some extra care for his ear.. she took care of him very well! I will definitely use her again! Its so hard to find loving pet sitters.”

“Victoria was extremely attentive, communicative and wonderful. She left my house neat and tidy and took incredible care of my dog. I truly could not recommend her more.”

“Sydney was great with our 2 dogs. She sent us lots of pictures and kept us well informed. The house was in perfect shape as well. Already have her booked for our next trip.”

“Ivy took a good care of our dogs for 9 days including administering insulin shots to one of our senior dogs. All of our 3 dogs warmed up to Ivy right away because of her calm demeanor, and Abi, the young GSD, even got zoomies while we were away which tells us she was very comfortable with Ivy. Ivy is also a great communicator, flexible, and always punctual. Thank you Ivy!”

“Reina was absolutely wonderful once again! She took great care of our dog and two cats during one of the worst rainstorms in LA, and ensured they felt safe all weekend. She’s great!”

“Elizabeth was amazing!! She was extremely thorough, and was giving constant updates and pictures while we were out. She went above and beyond to make sure Max was loved and cared for. I had no doubts that Max and our home were in great care, and that kind of feeling is priceless.”

“Bethany was attentive, kind, and a wonderful communicator. My little Ripley was happy and calm with I returned home. I would absolutely recommend Bethany as well as request her services again. Wonderful pet sitter!”

About: I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember; I’ve had several of all sizes throughout my life, and they were like siblings to me. I love dogs of all kinds; wherever I go, they seek me out, greet me, and let me pet them. I think that’s a great sign that I connect with them. I am a freelance videographer and video editor. I set my own schedule, so at any moment I can pause my editing work to go walk dogs or look after my son's cat when he travels. Yes, often. I take two dogs for a walk every day; I've been doing it for years, and babysitting my son's cat when he travels.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid I used to watch my neighbors dogs. I also managed a dog hotel for five years. I would love to be a dog trainer and I just have such a loving heart for animals. They hold a very special place in my heart. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine, allowing me to provide flexible and attentive care for your furry family members. I currently have an open schedule, which means I can dedicate plenty of time to walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and making sure your pets feel safe and loved while you’re away. I’ve always had a deep love for animals and understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for them. My goal is to give pet parents peace of mind and treat every pet as if they were my own. I am very well trained in dog behavior. I worked at a dog hotel with 800 dogs and managed it. I have a huge heart and no what they need. I would love to come housesit and take care of your pet as if it was my own.
“Allen is an awesome dog sitter! We have two high energy doodles, one of whom is blind, and he took really good care of them while we were away. He sent plenty of pictures and videos which gave us peace of mind and when he left, they were standing at the guest bedroom door looking for him. We highly recommend Allen!”

“Cynthia was wonderful with Boba! It takes people a bit of time to get used to our dog ( anxiety, likes to know people are around him but limited physical interaction with him ) but Cynthia caught on right away. I’m sure the next time she Boba-sits, he’ll he happy to see her!”

“Julia did such a great job taking care of our Lola! This was our first time using rover so we had been nervous to have someone new watching our dog, but Julia was really accommodating with us and having her meet Lola beforehand was so helpful and made us feel much more comfortable. Julia sent us lots of photos and gave updates each day that made us feel at ease that Lola was doing great. Highly recommend her!”

Absolutely perfect. Jihae watched our three dogs while staying at our house for several nights while we were away. As basically a complete stranger, she went above and beyond what we asked of her, was super communicative, and was overall just perfect. I highly highly recommend.

We were out of town for two weeks on vacation and Madison did a fantastic job with house sitting. Great communication, details on concerns and the house was very clean when we came back. Madison even went out of her way to take our dog to the vet for a quick recheck of an injury. Our pup was in very good hands! Highly recommend!

Jack was beyond wonderful with our very sassy yet loving Cavapoo, Coconut. We were a bit weary about this process and weren’t sure what to expect but meeting Jack for the first time along with how he took care of our precious Coconut quickly dissolved any of those apprehensions. He was so timely, attentive, detail-oriented and loving towards Coconut. He demonstrates good judgment and is so kind and considerate. We just really appreciated him. Thank you so much, Jack. We are so grateful to you!!

Julia was absolutely fantastic with our dog Charlie. She stayed with him at our house and everything was perfect. He can be a bit demanding sometimes, and Julia was extremely patient and living with him. Her communication was spot on. We revived many updates and photos during our trip. I would 100 percent recommend Julia

Callie is a very caring and kind pet sitter. I contacted her last minute and she was careful to follow me instructions. My dog was a recent rescue that had fear issues and Callie won her over. I received daily updates and videos and pictures of Bunny doing her daily routine. Callie really understood Bunny’s needs and helped her bloom while I was away. She helped with a few household things and I appreciate that. I will definitely be using her again.

Andrea came and stayed with Hattie for the first time and it couldn’t have gone better. Andrea was very intuitive with Hattie and her needs. She was a great communicator, which is a stress reliever for me when I can’t be there. And most importantly Hattie loved her!! Thanks Andrea. Until next time!!

Gabby provided exceptional care for our dog. From our initial meeting, her professionalism and thoroughness were immediately apparent; she asked insightful questions that covered details we hadn't even considered. We truly appreciated the consistent updates and photos she shared throughout the stay. Upon our return, our home was in pristine condition. Furthermore, the training tips she provided have already proven effective. We are incredibly pleased and will definitely be booking her services again!

Chloe was wonderful. She was really helpful, especially with it being a last minute booking and holiday. She took great care of the animals and the house was left exactly how it was. She was very communicative, cooperative, and came to meet everyone without hassle. I highly recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rolling Hills Estates on Rover is $73.53 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 14,301 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rolling Hills Estates. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rolling Hills Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rolling Hills Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rolling Hills Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
