“I’m so happy we found Ji Hae! She’s so communicative and followed all our instructions exactly. Shes experienced with caring for large dogs which was especially helpful for our two pups. It was so nice traveling and knowing she was taking care of our dogs and our home! Definitely will be reaching out again!”

“If possible I will use Allen again! This is the first time I've left my dogs with a stranger and it was a great experience for them and me. Allen sent videos and pictures every day. We were gone for a week and when we returned he'd washed the sheets and vacuumed the house. It was a joy to return home!”

About: I’ve been officially pet sitting consistently since 2024 and have built my client base through word-of-mouth referrals and repeat bookings. I grew up with dogs but through petsitting, have experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, tortoises, betta fish, shrimp, and chameleons. Most of my experience is with overnight stays ranging from weekend trips to 1–2 week vacations. I’m detail-oriented, adaptable, and take pride in following care instructions closely while keeping owners updated with photos and messages throughout their trip. As a powerlifter and active person, I’m comfortable with both short and long walks and can keep up with high-energy & strong dogs. I work in-office during weekdays but am available mornings, evenings, overnights, and am fully flexible on weekends. My goal is simple: to make sure your pets feel safe and comfortable while giving you peace of mind when you’re away. I work in an office Monday through Friday, so I'm most flexible on weekends. For pets that are comfortable being home during the workday, I'm available for feeding, bathroom, and walks before work, in the evenings, overnight, and throughout the weekend. I am detail-oriented, adaptable, and take pride in following care instructions closely so pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m flexible to either board your pet in my home, stay at your home whether for drop in visits or overnight stays, whatever you and your pet feel works best for their comfort. Prior to the stay, (my home or yours), we will go over your pet’s routine and your expectations to make sure this is a good fit before moving forward.
“It was just an overnight trip but Casey did a great job looking after our fur babies. Especially my senior dog who needs daily medication. Thank you so much for the care and compassion given to the pets.”
“Elaine was great with our pups. She kept us updated throughout our trip about how our pups were doing. We received wonderful pictures that showed how happy they were. Elaine is clearly an animal lover. We were very happy with the care and love she showed our pets. I highly recommend Elaine.”

About: I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember; I’ve had several of all sizes throughout my life, and they were like siblings to me. I love dogs of all kinds; wherever I go, they seek me out, greet me, and let me pet them. I think that’s a great sign that I connect with them. I am a freelance videographer and video editor. I set my own schedule, so at any moment I can pause my editing work to go walk dogs or look after my son's cat when he travels. Yes, often. I take two dogs for a walk every day; I've been doing it for years, and babysitting my son's cat when he travels.

I can't wait to meet you and your furry family! I have a flexible schedule right now, which allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs throughout the week. I'm happy to work with your schedule whenever possible and will always provide reliable, dependable care for your pets. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. “Jessica did an amazing job caring for our dogs! She was very communicative and sent a ton of pictures. She also took our dog to the groomer which was great. We would definitely hire her again!”

“They were amazing taking care of my sweet girl Luna who get nervous and barks like crazy with any new people! She was over that in a minute and had the best time while we were gone! And even the cats were happy! No small feat, would definitely use you guys again! Thank you!”

“Sydney was great with our 2 dogs. She sent us lots of pictures and kept us well informed. The house was in perfect shape as well. Already have her booked for our next trip.”

About: I originally grew up taking care of rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, which included grooming / shaving/ nail clippings and baths. I even litter trained them myself. I learned at a young age how to be gentle with all types of small animals and the importance of a clean environment. I am also available for exotic animal drop in visit care services (rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas). In my later years I fell in love with dogs and cats. I rescued all of my cats from trees and crawl spaces and learned how to cut their nails as well. When I got my first schnauzer - I learned the joy of training, patience, and positive reinforcement. My favorite thing to do is walk and spend time with animals, so it only makes sense that I create a lifestyle conducive to the things that bring me joy. I love spoiling dogs with special treats and I always talk to them like I would a person because they are so smart and pick up so many words. Walking with dogs outside, playing, chasing squirrels, and the joy of fresh air is my favorite thing to do. No walk is ever long enough for me. I am highly interactive and assertive to animals needs and I know how important positive energy is for their wellness. A good environment allows them to thrive and trust the company they are with. I am currently working part time, and I have a somewhat flexible work schedule, so pet care is something I enjoy and do daily as I have a pup of my own. I share my pup part time with my ex partner, so I have many days available to help take care of other animals. If it was completely up to me I’d have a tiny farm. I love animals so much and walking dogs is my absolute favorite pastime. I live in a one bedroom apartment with my cat Penny. My pup visits me two days a week. My cat is very dog friendly because she is used to my pup visiting twice a week. Fresh water, teeth brushing, home cooked meals/kibble are all things I do and I have stairs for smaller dogs to come on my couch. No areas in my home are off limits to pets.

“Kristina has been an absolute godsend to me. She took care of my dogs for 2 weeks while I was gone for a honeymoon trip. Aside from that she also took care of my dogs during my wedding and she absolutely did her job so well by making sure my dogs are comfortable, pottied every now and then, drank water regularly and fed them. She focuses on her job and does it well. While she as dog sitting for 2 weeks, she followed every single instruction I gave her on how to take care of my dogs and cat and my house. She went above and beyond of what was asked for. My dogs and my cat were very happy with her. My pets were all comfortable with her and were very close to her. She would regularly send pics and videos of them which I truly appreciated because I was missing my pets while I was gone. The pics and videos made me feel that my pets were still close even though I’m halfway across the globe. My house was clean and in order the way I left them. I trust her with my home and my pets 100 percent and will avail of her service repeatedly no questions asked. Thank you Kristina gif what you do. God bless you!!”

Hannah took exceptional care of our dogs once again. All of our dogs require medication, which she handles with ease. Additionally, she cooked special food for our dog when he had an upset stomach. She also took out our garbages and brought in packages for us. Highly recommend!

Kristina was a life saver!!! Pearl got sick and had some diarrhea before my trip. She was getting better but I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her at my normal boarding place (a daycare) when she wasn’t feeling 100%. I thought I was going to have to cancel my trip but reached out to Kristina the day before and she agreed to stay with her! She finished Pearl’s medicine, took her for daily walks, sent me frequent updates, and also took care of my cat! I was able to go on my trip AND relax knowing my babies were in excellent hands! I would recommend Kristina to anyone and trust her with my babies anytime!!!

Absolutely perfect. Jihae watched our three dogs while staying at our house for several nights while we were away. As basically a complete stranger, she went above and beyond what we asked of her, was super communicative, and was overall just perfect. I highly highly recommend.

I was not sure we could leave our pets for 15 nights! But then we met Cassandra and instantly felt good and comfortable about it. She spent so much time with our two dogs and cats, loved on them, fed, filled water bowls, walked the dogs, watered plants, vacuumed, wiped down, scooped litter boxes, picked up dog poop, etc. We are so grateful for all she did to keep everyone safe and well cared for! Thank you Cassandra!!

Grace was absolutely amazing. As a first time rover user, she took away all the stress and worry I had leaving my boy alone for the first time. She was communicative, patient, sent daily updates and pictures, and overall was very kind and respectful of our space. We will be sure to use her again.

Absolutely amazing experience with Velvet! She took such great care of my two dogs and treated them like her own. I could tell they were happy, comfortable, and well looked after the entire time. Velvet was reliable, attentive, and kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dogs absolutely loved her, and I truly appreciated how caring and responsible she was. I would 100% book with Velvet again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving to care for their pets!

You won’t regret it if you hire Allen. He is outstanding! Allen easily managed our furry beast. Chloe is a Chinese slaughterhouse rescue and has some serious trust issues but Allen quickly won her over and was giving her belly rubs in no time. He also took great care of our home, leaving it better than he found it! We are so pleased with Allen and will definitely hire him again!!

Taylor did an amazing job and I will 100% be bringing her back to babysit my cat Bella. She responds quickly, sent photos every day, kept my apartment clean, took out the trash, and even kept my little plant alive! It’s obvious she is a pet lover and had a great relationship and was so caring for my little kitty. She really brought me so much peace of mind while I was out of town!!
Katie cared for my 2 dogs for a few days. It was clear from the start when we did a meet and greet that she was the best sitter. She asked lots of relevant questions and took notes. When I returned, my dogs looked happy and well taken care of. Katie kept me in the loop about everything that happen. Would def book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Carson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Carson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Carson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Carson. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
