“I was nervous at first to leave my dog with anyone other than family but from day one Tatiana eased all my fears. She was so patient and attentive to mine and Canela’s needs. She sent videos and photos daily which let me see how well cared for my furbaby was in real time. My puppy was so happy in her care and didn’t seem to miss a beat. I am so thankful to have found her on Rover already looking to book again in the future.”

“Katie is the best!!! She would send me updates about my girls and pictures daily. She really put my mind at ease while caring for my dogs. This was my first time booking with Katie and I am most definitely re-booking her!!! I highly recommend her. I’m giving her 10 stars forget the 5 stars max on rover!!!!”

“Brian is a conscientious sitter and was really good with Bucky. He sent pics and videos of of my puppy at the end of each day, and we appreciated the constant communication. We definitely recommend Brian as your pet sitter.”

“Zahara was so great with our dogs. Not only did she do great with our one dog who is a senior dog needing medication, she also just clearly loved on them like they were her own. She also was incredibly flexible scheduling a meet and greet and coordinating everything while we were out of the country. Will definitely use her services again in the future!”

“Elaine and her husband are great dog sitters and dog lovers. I wouldn't hesitate to leave my dog with them in the future again when I go out of town. They provided plenty of photos and videos everyday and gave extra care/ attention to my dog. Thank you again!”

“Valeria is definitely someone I would consider reliable! She was able to watch my puppy on a few day notice and was very communicative which I loved!. Big thanks to her for helping me out. I was able to go to work, do some errands and catch up on some sleep while knowing my puppy was in good hands.😊🐶”

“My labradoodle and I needed last minute boarding, and Delaney really came through for us. My doggo had a great time, and their house is ideally set up fior dog boarding with a clean and fenced back yard with room to stretch”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We left our golden retriever with this wonderful family and their golden while we were out of town celebrating our son’s birthday. From the very beginning, their communication was excellent and they made us feel completely at ease. Our dog had the best time — it was her very first time staying with another golden retriever, and the two of them clearly had a blast together! Knowing she was in such loving, attentive hands allowed us to fully enjoy our family trip without worry. The updates and photos we received were such a treat. This family clearly adores dogs and provides genuine, caring, home-away-from-home care. We are already planning to book them again for our next trip. Highly, highly recommend!”

“My dogs had the best stay! Carla is very communicative and so friendly. She seems to really care and love the animals. Will definitely come back as the pups very much enjoyed themselves :)”

“Ashley had a wonderful time with Monika and her family. She was well taken cared. She was very welcomed. Monika gave us the updates/pics/vids we needed. We’ll definitely have Monika and family again. Thank you so much Monika.”

“Alice is awesome. We had a playdate before the actual reservation. Alice sent me videos with Zoe playing with the other dogs. I felt very comfortable leaving Zoe with her. Alice is very sweet and professional. I will definitely use Alice's service again. Thank u Alice.”

“As usual, Jami & Frances were fantastic! My dog Murphy is pretty much a regular with them. They love him and treat him like family every time he stays with them. Communication is always clear and timely and I couldn't ask for a better sitter. They are simply wonderful.”

“Mollie was such a great dog sitter to Dexter , she gave me updates && sent me a lot of pictures. Highly recommend. Will definitely be rebooking. Thank you.”

“Brian and Kristy were amazing throughout the entire process. We had to find last minute accommodation for our pup and they were available and very welcoming to us! Throughout his stay, they sent tons of feedback, updates, and our dog got plenty of exercise!! It was comforting to know he was doing well while away thanks to the open communication! Would definitely recommend Bryan and Kristy, they go above and beyond!!”

“Dorle is fantastic! I was anxious about leaving my dog for the first time, but she made me feel completely at ease. Her beautiful fenced backyard and house gave me peace of mind, and it’s clear she genuinely cares for dogs. She kept me updated with photos of their walks and maintained excellent communication throughout my trip. My dog really enjoyed being with her, and I will definitely book with her again. She is awesome!”

About: Our family loves dogs! We have taken care of dogs from friends and family, and thought it would be great to do more. Our sweet doggie Payton passed away so we don’t have any pets in our home right now. We have two young daughters (4 and 3) who grew up with our beloved Payton (a shitzu) and adore dogs. I work from home and Mark’s schedule is flexible. We are often home all day, so we can accommodate puppies to senior dogs who may need extra care and attention. We don’t have a yard, but happy to take your pup out as frequently as needed- grass is close by! We would love the chance to get to know your loved one and will treat him/her like family :) Mark and I are both home nearly all day except when one of us goes to run an errand. We can accommodate walks and potty breaks as frequently as needed. And lots of play time :) We live in a secured 2-story townhome. We have a balcony but no yard, but can take your pup outside for walks or potty breaks as often as needed. Our neighborhood is very safe.
“Birgitta, her husband and son provided Scully with a great weekend away from home! Consistent updates in the form of photos and quick messages on their activities for the day helped us be very comfortable that Scully was being well taken care of. I would recommend Birgitta to anyone looking for great pet care, and will certainly be booking her in the future!”

Dorle, I’m so impressed with how well you took care of our Mushu. It was our first time with you as our sitter and we were going to be gone 10 days and you took her in as if she were family and sent so many great pictures. Mushu is older, has gone through major surgery and is sensitive to strangers at first but you handled her like the pro you are. Plus you are such a warm and wonderful person! I love that your family enjoyed her and that she warmed up to them too! We will definitely have you on speed dial for all of our up coming trips! Bless you, Relena

I left my babies for longer than ever before, and Arousha made it easy. Both dogs were comfortable with her the moment they arrived. My younger pup can be standoffish with new people, and she handled it like a pro, working with him on walks and figuring out the best ways to set both dogs up for success. She was responsive and communicative from our first meet & greet, and I knew they were in the best hands possible. We'll absolutely be booking her again! Also huge thank you to Arousha’s little ball of energy & fluff (Rumi) for sharing her home with my doggies!!

Aubrey is clearly a dog-lover. She took the best care of Arches, taking him on long smell-centric walks and treating him with obvious love. She is a ready communicator, adaptable and helpful with scheduling, and went the extra mile to make sure our dog boarding experience was top notch. Thanks for taking such good care of our boy, Aubrey!

This was our second time booking with Kimberly, and we can confirm that she is the best! She has a very warm and inviting disposition and treats our fur baby with so much care and friendly enthusiasm. He enjoyed his very own staycation by the beach, at the park and making new fur friends. We look forward to the opportunity to book with Kimberly again.

When our dog was having some mobility issues, they let us know right away, and kept us informed on any progress, with photos and videos. Unfortunately she didn't improve much so se decided that it would be in the dogs interest to pick her up from her sitters. Fortunately all is back to normal with her, it was best overall .

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Walteria home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Walteria.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Walteria sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
