“1st time using Rover and Amanda was very nice and good at communicating. Miles was his normal self after staying a week, which was a good sign. It was the first time Miles was separated from us and his most extensive time around other dogs. I don’t know how much individual attention Miles got since Amanda has 2 dogs and seemed to always have another she was watching as well but as long as Miles wasn’t in the crate a lot I guess I don’t care. And Miles needed the socializing with other dogs so it worked out great. I’m sure it was a lot more than he would’ve gotten at a boarding facility. Miles sure seemed to enjoy being around other dogs and the fenced-in backyard. Amanda made sure to share pics/videos as well. I’d recommend her to any of my friends looking for a dog sitter.”

“Thank you so much for caring for Bentley while i was away. I knew he was in good hands the moment we met. The daily updates helped me as well, i loved knowing about his day. Ariel n her family were so sweet & welcoming!!”

“Marcela watched my dog Maisie for 5 days and did a fantastic job. She sent pics and videos everyday and kept me informed on how maisie was eating, sleeping and coping with being some where new. She answered all questions quickly and was available to txt the entire time. Maisie seemed to have a blast with the other dog she was watching as well. She gave maisie lots of outdoor play and run time as she is high energy. Maisie came home happy and I could tell was well taken care of. Thanks Sarah!”

When I first met Min, she was warm and friendly. When I was leaving, she immediately got acquainted with my dog and took him outside and walked him. I felt comfortable and knew my dog would be in good hands. While I was away, Min kept me informed several times a day about his eating and potty time. WOW - our cocker spaniel, had so much fun here! He was taken on daily walks and given so much love. He returned home a very happy boy. He’s eight years old and had never stayed with anyone other than family, but he felt right at home with them. We loved the daily updates and pictures that we were sent. We were able to go on vacation and know that our precious boy was being well taken care of and was safe and happy. We will definitely use Silviu and Stanca again in the future!

We left our fur baby, Tobey, with Deepa for a few days, and her entire family took incredible care of him. From the moment we met them, I felt completely at ease leaving him behind. Their home is incredibly welcoming and perfectly equipped for a safe stay, complete with a great fenced backyard. Deepa was thorough, she asked all about Tobey's routine and preferences, and tried to replicate his feeding schedule, potty breaks, and walks to give him that comforting, home like environment. She also kept my anxiety at bay by sending regular updates, photos, and videos throughout his stay. Deepa is professional, highly responsive, and a genuinely loving caregiver. Tobey came home happy and completely relaxed. We will absolutely be booking with her again and highly recommend Deepa to anyone looking for top-notch pet care!

Ishita (Minnie) cared for Graham while we traveled. She took excellent care of him, caring for him as if he were her own dog!! She sent pictures and video updates everyday which was comforting to see him having a great time! She asked if Graham could go to the dog park, and he truly enjoyed getting out and playing with other dogs. I would recommend her to care for you dogs while you’re away!

Jacqueliene was amazing with our two energetic pups! She sent photos throughout the stay and always kept us updated during our vacation, which made us feel comfortable knowing they were well taken care of. Our pups are not the easiest to handle because of their energy but Jacqueliene did great! We will definitely leave them with her again and recommend others to do so as well!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Amanda and her family. This was the very first time we left our dog, and it was for two weeks, so we were extremely nervous. He wasn’t used to being around other dogs except for our little Cockapoo, and we worried about how he would adjust. From the moment we met Amanda, her professionalism, warmth, and genuine love for dogs put us at ease. Not only did our dog do well—he absolutely thrived. He learned how to socialize, became more playful, and clearly felt safe, loved, and cared for during his stay. Seeing how happy and comfortable he was made all the difference for us. We now feel completely confident leaving our baby with Amanda and her family. They welcomed him as if he were their own, and that peace of mind is priceless. We are so grateful and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional, loving dog care. 🐾💛

Amber & Ronnie well excited to meet Milo. Milo has a separation anxiety and possessive nature. Amber said no problem. We can take care of him. I’m very happy with their care. They were even flexible to pick up and drop Milo. They give me constant updates on how he was doing. I highly recommend them.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
