“Sara was a SUPER STAR for our almost 14 year old pup! Our dog doesn't have a lot of experience staying away with others and was instantly at home with Sara and her daughter. Our dog has tendency of incontinence episodes or difficulty holding for extended lengths of time and Sara was able to navigate that and be with her day and night. The picture check ins were the best! Thank you, Sara, for loving on our furbaby while caring for your own sick baby! <3”

“Amazing experience with Lea! She took great care of my cat and kept me updated with pictures and messages during the stay. My cat came back happy and relaxed. Super kind, responsive, and carin definitely would book again!”

“Denise was great! Walked us through her dog sitting process and set up prior to booking and kept in touch throughout the stay with lots of photos 💕 Was very proactive with making sure our pups were well taken care of and comfortable.”

“Dani and her husband, Roger, were very sweet. Dani was very communicative and easy to coordinate scheduling with. She sent pictures everyday and gave updates. Would schedule again :)”

“Jennifer was fantastic. She was super responsive, and communicated often with pics and texts. Jasper seemed quite comfortable staying, playing and sleeping at Jennifer’s home and with her two dogs. Will return!”

“Mrs Teresa was a God send! We needed someone to watch our 10 yr old chihuahua, Kiwi, while we traveled for our wedding. I was really nervous because I had never left my girl anywhere but with family. She sent so many pictures and videos of Kiwi having fun and relaxing and it gave me such peace of mind. Kiwi had the BEST time. Will definitely be using Teresa in the future for any trips.”

“Julie and Natalie boarded our corgi, Roux for a several days while we were on vacation. We had a great experience! We received updates and Roux seemed happy and comfortable during her stay. We will definitely reach out again for any boarding needs!”

“We’re so grateful for the care and love you gave our pup while we were away! It gave us such peace of mind knowing Ollie was in such good hands. You treated him like family and kept us updated the whole time — thank you for being so reliable, kind, and attentive.”

“I was super pleased with Libu and so thankful for the wonderful care he provided for my dog, George. He was very communicative from the start and always responded in a timely manner during the booking process. Libu even set up a meet-and-greet so George could meet him and his sweet pup, Emma, before we left. Libu sent daily pictures and videos and kept me updated on how George was doing. As this was my first time using Rover, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend Libu and will definitely book with him again in the future. His rates are also very reasonable for the great level of care he provides!”

“Wonderful Ruth is a Godsend for us and our doggies were very happy with her at her house. I wish we had found her sooner but so happy to know there is someone we can trust to take care of our fur babies!”

“Clyde and Nancy took great care of our pup. Our pup doesn't do great with other dogs, and takes time to warm up to people. It was the perfect set up with Clyde and Nancy as they only took care of one pet at a time and really knew how to take care of dogs. They sent me regular updates and had me at ease when my pup had settled in with them. Will be contacting Clyde and Nancy again for any future needs!”

“Nicole and John were incredible with my dog Mae. This was my first time using Rover, and I was hesitant given Mae is 10 years old and is usually watched by family or a family friend when we are out of town. Mae took to them immediately, and Nicole and John provided lots of love and care, checked in, and sent pictures. I had such a peace of mind while I was away. I’m grateful to have found sitters I can rely on for future trips!”

“My first experience with Rover. I couldn’t be more pleased. I was so nervous leaving my puppy but upon meeting Lea Ann, was put at ease. My puppy is a happy girl and she came home happy. I got pictures to reassure me and will definitely be a repeat client.”

“Madelin was incredible with the care of our Oreo. She is practically a dog whisper! She kept us updated and even got your dog to open up to other dogs which is something I didn’t know was possible! I will definitely be rebooking with her again!”

“I loved how friendly Sian was and how relaxed myself and our dogs felt as soon as we walked in the door. This was our first stay and first time meeting Sian and her pup Travis. We will book with her again. One of my dogs never eats when momma is away, but he ate at Sian's house! They got lots of playtime and snuggles. Sian sent the right amount of photos and checkins so that we knew they were good but were not distracted during our vacation. She commuicated when one of our dogs threw up, which isn't unusual for his sensitive stomach.”

“Our boy absolutely loved his time with Oleksandra! She sent us lots of pictures and updates, which we really appreciated. We knew he was well taken care of with her and highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Nevada
Karissa made this entire experience so easy for us. This being our beagles first stay away from family, we were nervous about how they would do. But they’ve seemed to have made themselves right at home with Karissa and her family and I believe that’s entirely due to the love and care shown them throughout their stay. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Brittany and her family are exceptional, loved by our family and by our pit mix, Tennason. Brittany is great in communicating, sending pictures and messages, and reaching out when there is a concern. We so appreciate knowing we can get away and that Tenny is in good hands!

I highly recommend Carol! Her communication was seamless, and she executed everything perfectly. Our dog Leo had a great time playing with her dog. He was happy and well taken care of. We really appreciated the regular updates and videos—it allowed us to fully disconnect knowing our dog was in great hands. Carol is professional, reliable, and we won't hesitate to book with her again.

Raniyah was wonderful! She kept my 2 cats for a week and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The set up was great. The cats had the perfect combination of privacy and space, but still had plenty of human interaction. You can just tell the difference when someone genuinely cares about your pets emotional well-being. For example, she spent the week providing them water in a bowl, in a cup, as well as from the bathroom sink just to make sure my finicky cat had every possible option to stay well hydrated… and that’s just one example of personalized care my cats received. She even sent me daily updates, including pictures and videos! Needless to say,Raniyah will be our go to pet sitter from now on!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
