“We have a very grumpy senior cat. Samantha is one of the only humans on this planet he snuggles, but it wasn’t easy in the beginning. She is so patient and kind. Always shows up and goes the extra mile to care for our cat.”

“Sarah made our first Rover experience wonderful! She came by before booking to meet my pups. She was incredibly responsive and an excellent communicator while we were gone. When an problem arose she promptly reached out to me, my emergency contact, and the vet for advice, all in the time it took me to return her call. She even added an extra visit at my request and was at my house in no time. We would absolutely book Sarah again.”

“OMG, there are not enough words to describe how AMAZING Bianca is. She came through for us at a critical time of life and saved the day. She's definitely a Superwoman in our eyes. I was so nervous as this was my first time using the service personally, but Bianca handling things the way she did definitely put my mind at ease. My fur-babies REALLY enjoyed her company and the care she provided. I don't think I've ever seen them so happy to see and get along with someone they've just met for the first time, lol. Bianca did fantastic with communication and taking some excellent photos. She's most definitely a Fav in our family now and we look forward to booking her again if and when need be in the future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Bianca, for helping us out and providing excellent customer service to us humans and our fur-babies. You are GREATLY appreciated and loved. Rex and Roxie send their pup-kisses and many many many thanks! 💖💖💖”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was a little tot. From cats to dogs, I do it all. When leaving your pet with me I will make sure to take top tier care of your baby. As I know how nerve racking it can be to leave them when you’re away. I will send updates daily to give you a peace of mind that they are in good spirits. Look forward to meeting your fur baby. <3 My day to day schedule is very flexible so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet(s). Whether you need someone full or part time. When caring for pets in your home I love written instructions, but can easily adapt if there are none. If wet outside I will let them out to go to the bathroom then dry their fur before letting them enter the home.
“Brittany was GREAT! I could see the happiness in my dogs face in every picture. It was raining all weekend and I knew opal would get her feet muddy but Brittany took it like a champ! Will hire her again in the future :)”

“I could not be more pleased with the care that Jostyn showed my dog, Chloe! Jostyn provided me with daily updates and pictures, which kept me abreast of everything at home while I was on my trip. Josytn went above the call of duty! I could not have asked for a better dog-sitter and will definitely be booking Jostyn again for my next trip. Thanks, Jostyn!!”

About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have had them as part of my life since childhood. Over the years I’ve cared for many different breeds, sizes, and personalities, so I’m very comfortable around all kinds of dogs. I also spent several years working at an animal shelter where I helped care for dogs of all ages and temperaments. My responsibilities included feeding, walking, cleaning kennels, and making sure each dog felt safe, comfortable, and loved while they waited for their forever homes. That experience taught me how to read dog behavior, stay calm in different situations, and give every dog the patience and attention they deserve. Whether it’s playtime, a long walk, or just some extra cuddles and company, I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel happy and well cared for. Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I’m home most of the day. This allows me to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care throughout your pet’s stay. My day is already structured around caring for my own dogs, so adding another pet means they’ll be included in a routine of regular potty breaks, feeding schedules, playtime, and rest. Pets are rarely left alone and are part of a calm, home-centered environment. I’m able to give frequent updates, adjust to your pet’s needs, and provide plenty of interaction throughout the day. Because I’m home, I can also accommodate pets who may need a little extra attention, consistency, or companionship. Your pet will be cared for as part of my daily life, not just scheduled in. I treat every pet like they’re my own, so safety and trust mean everything to me. My home is a calm, clean, and pet-friendly space where your pet can relax, play, and feel comfortable. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and needs — whether that means extra playtime, cuddles, or giving them space to settle in. I stick to your pet’s routine as much as possible so they feel secure and stress-free. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I make sure to respect your space and keep everything consistent for them. I also send regular updates and photos because I know how important it is to feel connected while you’re away. My goal is simple: for you to feel completely at ease knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
