“Kirby had an amazing day with my six week old puppy! She was very accommodating to his needs and made sure he ate and had potty breaks. We returned to a happy, well rested puppy! Thank you, also loved the pics!”

“Ryan was incredible! He took care of my two crazy pups and exceeded my expectations! He is very easy to reach at all times and sent loads of pictures which made me feel much better about leaving. He loves your pups as his own! In addition, he left our apartment spotless which was great to come home to. He is AMAZING!”

“Clair is the best! She listened to all of the detailed instructions I have for my senior cat, there are a lot! She did an excelllent job giving her her medicine and communicating with me - sent lots of pics and commms and I really appreciate that. I could feel that my Panther cat was really loved and cared for. Thank you Clair. She also took excellent care of our home.”

About: I’m Jacob, a full time nurse, looking for a side hustle to help pay off my student loans :) If you trust me with your pet(s) I will make them my top priority. I will shower them with attention, and take lots of pictures to update you with about our day. I work 3 days a week. I have plenty of free time during the week for your pet’s needs. It would be such a fulfilling past time for me to care for your animals. I live alone in a quiet apartment with no other animals. There’s a good amount of space. Quick and easy walk to the trail around lady bird lake.

“It was so great to be able to rely on Dina for the best service possible for my Kaila. Kaila is a high energy pup and I was so grateful for Dina to make sure that she would be all tired out and happy to see me home! I highly recommend Dina - she's wonderful with Kaila!! I would have given this 10 stars if there was an option. thanks, Dina!”
“Cienne took great care of my pups! She stayed at my home and sent lots of updates which I love. My girls looked very happy and comfortable. Will definitely have her over again!”

About: I've taken care of my own dogs since they were puppies up to their now senior age of 10, so I know how to care for dogs across all ages. But not only my own. I've helped care for people with senior dogs, volunteered at pet shelters, and generally tried to make the lives of as many pets as I can happier! I love pets (especially dogs), so the more time I can spend with our four-legged friends, the better! The only thing preventing me from spending time with other people's pets is taking care of my own two dogs :) In your house, I would care for your dog as if it were my own! My dogs can sometimes be a bit rowdy, so I don't often have other dogs stay at my place for long periods of time.
“Ashleigh is amazing! She was great at giving updates and being accommodating for my elder dogs and their various needs. I could tell all my pets 2 dogs and 3 cats felt extremely comfortable from day 1 and I'm definitely going to rebook with her next time I need my pets taken care of!”

“Kim was AMAZING with our brand new rescue dog, Poof. I had foundPoof on the side of the road a week prior and we had the leave town for a wedding, not ideal with a new and unknown dog. Kim was incredible with him taking him on multiple walks a day and making sure he felt safe and love!! Plus Kim cleaned up the house before leaving and stayed late since we had a late flight. Kim is an incredible sitter!!”

About: I have been blessed with many wonderful pets in my life, both big and small! I currently own a horse, Felix. Unfortunately, my dog Alfie passed at 17 years old in January. Although I am not quite ready for a new in home pet of my own, I'd love to help you with yours! I have owned both cats and dogs through my life from puppy/kitten stage to senior life. I have experience with watching dogs, cats, and horses. I have no problem administering medication and I'm comfortable with all ages, sizes, and breeds. 95% of my job is working from home, because of that I am quite flexible in my schedule. On occasion, I do travel for work/personal but will do my best to keep my Rover calendar up to date. My home is pet free, which means your pup will get my full attention! I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I have a nice sized patio that is fully covered. The area has a lot of green space and sidewalks perfect for a long stroll. There is also a dog park available if your dog particularly enjoys being social. I allow dogs on my furniture and bed, however have no issue with sticking to the rules if that is not part of your daily routine.
“We just had the best dog care we’ve ever had with Jessica! I have an old lady dog that I’m always worried about. I’ve skipped out on trips that my dog couldn’t come on the last couple of years because I’m so afraid of leaving her. Not anymore! Will absolutely hire Jessica again in a heart beat. She took excellent care of my dog and had amazing communication with me throughout the days with pictures and descriptions about what my dog was doing. I was never worried about her and could actually enjoy my vacation. Not to mention I came home to a sparkling clean house- would absolutely recommend Jessica to watch your pups. She is a gem!”
“I see why Woody has gotten so many positive reviews about both the care they provide for the dogs but also the person they are. I am so particular about who cares for my dogs while I’m away and woody made me feel so secure!!!! My dogs adored her and so do I!! They updated me throughout the day and sent personalized videos. They were attentive and listened carefully when I discussed my dogs and what they’re used to. You can tell she really cares. On a personal note - Woody is a bright light of a person, such a pleasure to have found them and met them for future dog sitting needs. Thank you Woody”

“Amber is so sweet, with great attention to detail and thorough communication during her stay! Our dogs loved her, and she helped them stay comfortable through nights of neighborhood fireworks and thunderstorms. Can't wait for her to come again!”

“Amelia took such good care of my senior pup! She was attentive, communicative, and genuinely cared about his interests, habits, etc. she went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable. She’s the best - I’ve already rebooked!”

“We were delighted to have Barbara return to look after our home as she is truly wonderful. Barbara sent lots of photographs of our cat throughout the day, and he was showered with affection. In addition, we had to ask Barbara to provide our cat with antibiotics and she had the magic touch. As always, our home was left spotless, and our cat was disappointed to see Barbara leave. Thank you!!!”

“Luna was absolutely wonderful! have two older animals (dog and cat) both whom have very detailed instructions for their routine throughout the day and Luna did not miss a beat. She house sat for me for several days and left my house in better condition than what I left it. Will definitely use her services again and can’t recommend her enough”

The perfect sitter and house guest! Gave daily updates with pictures and videos on all 3 dogs which really put all nerves to rest. Did exactly as asked so the dogs would stay on their normal routines. Kept the house and dogs clean too! So grateful and will definitely use Kirby in the future!

Daniela was wonderful with our pets! We felt very comfortable and our dogs loved her from the beginning. She was able to give them medications, stay at our house, and gave them plenty of supervised time outside. Everything was in great condition upon our return. I highly recommend her for your pets needs!
suzette went above and beyond our expectations for our babies! she was able to get us in last minute before our trip and we are so grateful we found her. she sent pictures of our pets often, took careful consideration of their unique needs, and even trimmed our dog’s nails for him. on top of that, we came back to our place being cleaner than we left it! i highly recommend booking suzette to take care of your pets.

Hailey was absolutely amazing with my two dogs, Spaceship and Orbit! She took care of them for three days and went above and beyond. Spaceship is usually nervous around new people, but she warmed up to Hailey right away thanks to her calm, gentle demeanor. Orbit is a total wild child, and Hailey handled her energy with no problem at all. She sent regular photos and updates, and even noticed a small nervous habit that one of the dogs has — which really showed how attentive she is. Zero hassle, completely professional, and just a genuinely great person to trust with your pets. I’ll definitely be booking her again, especially if you’ve got some picky pups like mine!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pilot Knob walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pilot Knob maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pilot Knob choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
