“Monica was absolutely perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better person to look after Sidney while I was in a last-minute business meeting that took the entire day. She walked him and ensured he was well cared for during the day.”

“Gihan watched our baby for the first time and was wonderful with him. Very patient with his fussy quirks and really taking the time to get to know him better. We appreciated her sending updates and plenty of photos to keep us posted on how things were coming along throughout the day. We already have her booked again for our next time away!”

“Jeff is great. Extremely reliable and compassionate with my dogs. He took great care of them. And left my house in the same condition as it was when I left. I highly recommend him. I have had a lot of problems with Rover in Austin and Jeff is one of the few sitters I feel comfortable leaving my dogs with”

“Nicole is a great communicator. We are a multi-dog household and she handled their different needs perfectly. The dogs were happy & relaxed when I returned home. We hope to use her again!”

“Cienne took great care of my pups! She stayed at my home and sent lots of updates which I love. My girls looked very happy and comfortable. Will definitely have her over again!”

“Brianna was comminicative and thoughtful in her care of my senior dog. He was happy and well cared for when I returned and we will definitely consider booking with Brianna again.”

“Ashleigh is amazing! She was great at giving updates and being accommodating for my elder dogs and their various needs. I could tell all my pets 2 dogs and 3 cats felt extremely comfortable from day 1 and I'm definitely going to rebook with her next time I need my pets taken care of!”

“Before leaving on our vacation we felt reassured and confident that River was in good hands with Johanna. She was super attentive with calm energy- exactly what our girl needed. Came home to a clean home (which was unexpected and much appreciated) and a happy, well taken care of doggo. I highly recommend Johanna and would certainly hire her again!”

“We’ve had Crystal house sit with our goldendoodle twice and she’s been just a great help! We’ve gone on two long weekend trips and have come back to a clean house and a happy cared for pup. She sends pictures and updates, and follows any requests I’ve made. I highly recommend her! :)”

“Joely was wonderful! She kept Ginger company for 3 days and helped me out SO incredibly much. She was very flexible in accommodating our unique situation while we were visiting the city. We greatly appreciate your help these days! Thank you Joely! 💕💕💕”

“Mariah has watched Bear and Ollie over two different weekends in our home. We couldn’t ask for a better sitter! She goes above and beyond every time—sending lots of photo updates, giving the pups tons of love, and even helping with little things like brushing out ear mats from roughhousing. We always come home a clean house, and we’re so grateful to have found her. We will absolutely book again!”

“We knew from the minute Harper met our dog, Stella, and cat, Jack, that she was a perfect fit. On her meet and greet, she asked the most thoughtful and detailed questions about their day to day, relationship to each other, routine, house things - everything. She sent wonderful pictures, funny anecdotes, and the animals were always by her side it seemed. She even noticed the little things, like how Stella had been walking funny and ran it by us to see if anything was off (she’s okay! Just getting old!). Beyond that, our house was in wonderful shape, our plants alive, our garbage taken out, our mail gathered. Everything. She truly went above and beyond and we can’t wait to have her petsit again. THANK YOU 💜🐶😺”

About: I have been blessed with many wonderful pets in my life, both big and small! I currently own a horse, Felix. Unfortunately, my dog Alfie passed at 17 years old in January. Although I am not quite ready for a new in home pet of my own, I'd love to help you with yours! I have owned both cats and dogs through my life from puppy/kitten stage to senior life. I have experience with watching dogs, cats, and horses. I have no problem administering medication and I'm comfortable with all ages, sizes, and breeds. 95% of my job is working from home, because of that I am quite flexible in my schedule. On occasion, I do travel for work/personal but will do my best to keep my Rover calendar up to date. My home is pet free, which means your pup will get my full attention! I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I have a nice sized patio that is fully covered. The area has a lot of green space and sidewalks perfect for a long stroll. There is also a dog park available if your dog particularly enjoys being social. I allow dogs on my furniture and bed, however have no issue with sticking to the rules if that is not part of your daily routine.

“Dina took great care of both my dog and my house while I was away! My dog Penny takes a while to warm up to new people but she seemed very happy with Dina.”

“She was great at providing me daily updates during the in-home sitting. I could tell from the pics that my dog was comfortable and happy. I would definitely use her again to stay with my dog if I need it in the future.”
“This was our first time using Alicia and she was great! So easy to communicate with and truly wants you to be rest assured your pet is in good hands. She stayed at my house for a night while we were out of town. My dog was having stomach issues, she took great care of him and made sure to provide lots of updates and ask questions if she thought something wasn't right with his stomach. I really appreciate her help, thank you!”

“Michael is wonderful. He’s stayed with our little pack 4 times now, I think. He’s our go-to guy whenever we need a pet / house sitter on Rover. He’s excellent with communicating. Our dog and 2 cats are always content when we get back home, and the house is always just as we left it.”

About: I've taken care of my own dogs since they were puppies up to their now senior age of 10, so I know how to care for dogs across all ages. But not only my own. I've helped care for people with senior dogs, volunteered at pet shelters, and generally tried to make the lives of as many pets as I can happier! I love pets (especially dogs), so the more time I can spend with our four-legged friends, the better! The only thing preventing me from spending time with other people's pets is taking care of my own two dogs :) In your house, I would care for your dog as if it were my own! My dogs can sometimes be a bit rowdy, so I don't often have other dogs stay at my place for long periods of time.

“Rasika was such a lifesaver for us. She stepped in last minute over a holiday and took incredible care of our dogs. She brought them treats, left the house spotless, and sent us daily updates and photos - which honestly did wonders for my anxiety haha. You can tell she genuinely loves animals, and our pups were so happy and relaxed when we got home. We’d book her again in a heartbeat.”

Gihan watched our baby for the first time and was wonderful with him. Very patient with his fussy quirks and really taking the time to get to know him better. We appreciated her sending updates and plenty of photos to keep us posted on how things were coming along throughout the day. We already have her booked again for our next time away!

Maritza did a great job taking care of my dog Murphy. She kept him on his normal routine and kept me updated every day. I came home to a relaxed, happy pup and my home exactly as I had left it. I hope to use her again in the future and highly recommend her. Bryan

Rachel is a lifesaver! She stepped in for a last-minute booking and immediately put my mind at ease with her amazing care for Benny. She followed his instructions to a tee and left me feeling completely relaxed while on vacation. We’re so grateful for her and will definitely be booking with her again! ❤️

Carissa did a great job taking care of my dog and cat while I was away! She was communicative throughout my trip, which gave me peace of mind. Both of my pets seemed happy and well cared for when I returned, and my apartment was left just as I had left it. I really appreciated having someone reliable to care for both my pets and my home while I was gone.

The experience was great! Gonzo is a bit older now and I didn't feel comfortable taking him to a boarding facility any longer and at in-home sitting seemed like the best option. Monica was great at attending to his needs and keeping him company during a recent trip and providing me updates throughout the stay. In the past when I would have to pick Gonzo up from boarding, he would give me an earful of barking/yelling at me and then shunning me for the entire day. This time, he looked at me like I had never left so that tells me he was completely happy having Monica in our house taking care of him.

Heather was absolutely amazing and took such great care of both my dogs and my home! She kept me updated throughout her stay, sent plenty of photos of the pups, and made sure I always knew how they were doing. I felt completely reassured and comfortable knowing they were in such good hands. She was responsible, caring, and attentive, and I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. I would highly recommend Heather to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pets and home!

Erica was amazing and took care of my baby for a whole week! She cared and loved for him so much when we were away. She sent Daily and nightly pictures of their walks, his sleep, and him just being a cuddly bear. She assured us of his safety and made sure he followed his food schedule. Our baby has a sensitive stomach and Erica was able to follow his dietary restrictions. Thank you again Erica!

Ashley is a true jewel! She cared for my pets with SO MUCH genuine love and care. I’m so grateful that we found her and will be 💯 working with her again in the future. You can rest easy knowing she’s with your beloved pets. She also kept the space clean and tidy! She was a gem in every way and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of pet care. ♥️

Rory is pure magic, the kind of soul you feel lucky to have found in this lifetime. From the very first meeting, she radiated warmth, kindness, and a gentle grace that our babies trusted instantly. There’s something truly special about her, an old-soul tenderness mixed with genuine devotion to the animals she cares for. She showered our pets with the same love, patience, and presence we would want for them ourselves. Every day away felt effortless because of her, daily photo (she is an amazing photographer as well ) updates and heartfelt messages that made us feel like we never really left. Clean, polished, thoughtful, and endlessly attentive, she thinks of details most people wouldn’t even consider. Rory isn’t just a pet sitter, she’s a guardian angel with a leash in one hand and a whole lot of stardust in the other. Our babies adore her, we adore her, and we simply wouldn’t trust this kind of love to anyone else. Out of this world, truly. ✨🐾 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bluff Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bluff Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bluff Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
