“Kimberly was amazing with my pup! I was so nervous to leave him for the first time and she took such good care of him for a week! I definitely trust her to care for my pup again! She’s great, highly recommend!”

“Lauren was great! She did a meet and greet and got to know my pets and their needs before I left for my trip. Since my dog is a senior dog and needs assistance with walking at times and takes multiple daily medications I am always a little nervous to leave him. She provided photo updates frequently so I never had to wonder if the animals were okay. I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation and not worry at all about my pets!”

“We feel so lucky to have found Alexa! She took amazing care of our pets, including giving medication to our very unhappy cat, managing our two cats who are still learning to live together, all while taking care of our dog as well. She went above and beyond in every way and treated our fur babies like family. The updates, photos, communication, and level of care were incredible. She stayed at our home and left it cleaner than we left it. It’s such a relief to find someone you trust completely with your pet — we will absolutely be repeat clients!”

“Willow did a great job house sitting for us and watching our 2 dogs and 2 cats, they all loved her and she performed all duties we asked + gave lots of play time and walks. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Great service! Our bunch can be very wild and Rebecca handled every issue that came up with grace. We loved getting all of the pictures and the updates plus the recommendations for products that would be great for each dog. Overall, we would recommend her.”

About: I love dogs and I’m always happy to give them a playful day. Walks, runs, ball, frisbee…you name it! Here to make sure there’s more to a dog’s day besides sitting at home. Can be arranged for daily, weekly, randomly. Hoping to build strong friendships with owners and pups! All about taking new routes and trying new things. Making sure they are walked, fed, hydrated, happy, and healthy! All the belly rubs in the world and maybe a treat or two if the owner approves.

“Yet another stay with Shanna that helped us be absolutely stress free about our pups. From regular updates to daily adventures, helped put a smile on our faces when we were away!”

“Lauren was an amazing dog sitter! She took care of my dog Tokyo for a couple of days and went above and beyond. She kept me consistently updated, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was clear Tokyo was happy and well cared for the entire time. I’d definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter.”

“We can’t thank Christina enough! This was the first time we’ve had her housesit for us, and I am a very nervous dog mama. She communicated SO well with me and sent me lots of pictures. It felt good to know my dogs loved her and were snuggling up to her from the minute she came over. She’s the best!”

“Melissa was amazing! Not only did my dog, Ellie, have a blast with her, but she was happy and healthy when I returned. she was also very great with her communication with me and left my house in great shape.”

“Haley handled our little ball of energy/chaos like a pro! I always get a little nervous leaving her with a new sitter, but Haley very quickly eased that with some pictures/videos and explanations of how she handled Murphee’s anxiety triggers. Very pleased and we came home to a happy pup!”

“Jordan is a wonderful pet sitter! Great communication, kept us posted with lots of photos. Took great care or our house, too. But most importantly, our dogs loved him! Definitely would book again.”

“Sidney was such a lifesaver helping me out for a last minute business trip. You could tell from the meet + greet that this wasn't her first rodeo - asking all the right questions to make sure she was equipped to handle my pup's quirks. She was super communicative and kept my pup happy and healthy while I was gone which is all I can ask for!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She completely exceeded our expectations — she honored all our wishes and made our pets feel right at home. She cared for our two dogs and our cat with so much love and attention, and we were able to enjoy our vacation in total peace knowing they were in such responsible hands. This was our first time leaving one of our dogs, and she made her feel so comfortable and loved — even cuddling with her at night. Our other dog, who usually takes a while to trust people, bonded with her right away. When she left, both dogs followed her to the door, which says it all! She even went above and beyond by cleaning our home and putting fresh sheets on the bed (completely unprompted!). We are so grateful for her kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. We can’t recommend her highly enough! ❤️🐾”

“Woody was the best! First time leaving my dog who is like my child and love of my life with someone other than family. Woody made me feel so comfortable and she took amazing care of her while I was away for a trip! Even came home to swept floors, clean sheets and towels which was never ever expected. Thank you so much Woody for your kindness, care and communication!”

“Kirby did an absolutely sensational job with our three dogs during me and my husband's wedding weekend! She showed up for two meet and greets before the weekend, and we knew our pups were going to be in great hands. Kirby was especially attentive to the needs of our Weimaraner, who has very bad separation anxiety. She sent thorough updates at the end of each day with lots of photos, and she took great care of our house. We will DEFINITELY continue to work with Kirby moving forward. 10/10 recommend to other dog owners looking for reliable in-house sitting.”

Ashley is a true jewel! She cared for my pets with SO MUCH genuine love and care. I’m so grateful that we found her and will be 💯 working with her again in the future. You can rest easy knowing she’s with your beloved pets. She also kept the space clean and tidy! She was a gem in every way and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of pet care. ♥️

Rory is pure magic, the kind of soul you feel lucky to have found in this lifetime. From the very first meeting, she radiated warmth, kindness, and a gentle grace that our babies trusted instantly. There’s something truly special about her, an old-soul tenderness mixed with genuine devotion to the animals she cares for. She showered our pets with the same love, patience, and presence we would want for them ourselves. Every day away felt effortless because of her, daily photo (she is an amazing photographer as well ) updates and heartfelt messages that made us feel like we never really left. Clean, polished, thoughtful, and endlessly attentive, she thinks of details most people wouldn’t even consider. Rory isn’t just a pet sitter, she’s a guardian angel with a leash in one hand and a whole lot of stardust in the other. Our babies adore her, we adore her, and we simply wouldn’t trust this kind of love to anyone else. Out of this world, truly. ✨🐾 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another great experience with Brittany! My cat is pretty attached to us (and we are just as attached to him!). With that said, it’s really important to know that I can trust our sitter to bring my cat comfort and fun while we’re away. Brittany is kind, trustworthy, reassuring, and flexible. Knowing that Brittany is there with our baby makes it a little easier to be apart. We truly appreciate her!!

Maritza cared for our 2 huskies, one that needs extra care due to both rear legs having had surgery. We received daily updates on how they were and on our return home, Maritza checked in with us to ensure we were back with them, which is both thoughtful and highly valuable. Maritza is more than capable of handling / caring for larger dogs and we're very grateful for her.
We were away for 10 days for our wedding, and knowing our two dogs were in such great hands gave us so much peace of mind during such a special time. Clair was communicative, responded quickly, and sent lots of updates and pictures that we absolutely loved. It was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for our dogs were while we were away. On top of that, she left our home in wonderful condition. We’re so grateful for the care Clair gave our girls and would absolutely trust her with them again. Highly recommend!

We knew from the minute Harper met our dog, Stella, and cat, Jack, that she was a perfect fit. On her meet and greet, she asked the most thoughtful and detailed questions about their day to day, relationship to each other, routine, house things - everything. She sent wonderful pictures, funny anecdotes, and the animals were always by her side it seemed. She even noticed the little things, like how Stella had been walking funny and ran it by us to see if anything was off (she’s okay! Just getting old!). Beyond that, our house was in wonderful shape, our plants alive, our garbage taken out, our mail gathered. Everything. She truly went above and beyond and we can’t wait to have her petsit again. THANK YOU 💜🐶😺

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bluff Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bluff Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bluff Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
