Availability
On any given day my schedule can vary from having 1 to 10 drop ins. However, when house sitting or boarding, I try not to book more than 5 in one day (and am happy to lower that number if you’d like round-the-clock care for your pet). I NEVER cancel last-minute, and will do everything I can to accommodate short-notice requests. I always keep my Rover calendar updated, so if there are any dates where I am fully unavailable, you should be able to see that on your end. I don’t mind early morning or late night visits and I have plenty of experience with long stays (3+ weeks of house sitting). If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

I’m always happy to swing by for a meet & greet with new clients (free of charge), but also have plenty of experience coordinating drop ins without an in-person meeting beforehand as well. So long as I know your pet’s food and potty routine, I can typically handle the rest. However, I always appreciate a thorough pet parent who takes the time to write out detailed instructions (or have a labeled, color-coded binder lol). I find that in-person meet & greets alleviate a lot of trust/safety concerns, and allowing your pet the opportunity to meet me while you are there typically reassures them so they are not caught off guard when I arrive for a drop in or housesitting. Every animal has a different routine, so it’s hard to say what a typical day looks like, but if you explain your animal's routine, I will follow it to the best of my ability. Whether that is lots of outdoor time or lots of snuggling on the couch, I want to make sure they feel safe and cared for while you are away.

Information Taylor H. would like to know about your pet
As long as I'm given thorough instructions regarding feeding, walking, potty breaks, medications, etc. I can handle the rest! I will gladly accept any/all information you want to give me about your pets ahead of time, but with as much experience as I have, I should be able to manage with just a basic schedule. However, if you love your animals as much as I do mine, I completely understand the inclination to leave behind lots of information. So please don’t feel like you are over sharing! I want to do everything I can to make your pet feel as happy as possible while you are gone. And if I ever have a question, I won’t hesitate to reach out and ask.
A typical day
Most people don't realize how much physical and mental stimulation most dogs need to be content. A lot of dogs require much more than a daily walk, so I'm always thinking of new ways to keep the pets that I care for entertained. Whether it's taking them to a park or on a hike (with your permission), or playing with some mentally-stimulating puzzle toys, I do my best to make each stay/walk exciting. My goal is to uphold your pet's schedule while making sure they feel safe and loved until their parent(s) gets home! If you'd prefer I don't take your pet to a new place, or if they generally don't play well with others, just let me know ahead of time so I can make sure they're always comfortable with their surroundings.

Pet care experience
Full-time pet sitter in South/Central Austin, and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon! I know how frustrating it can be to finally find the perfect pet sitter, only to have them move away or get a new job a month later. Though many sitters just do pet care on the side to supplement their “real job,” I have made pet care MY “real job” for the past 2+ years, and I have no plans of stopping or moving out of Austin in the foreseeable future. From a week old puppy to a grumpy old cat (and even a few chickens), I have cared for a diverse range of animals. I have experience administering insulin to both dogs and cats, caring for elderly animals that needed assistance moving around and going potty, and managing various medications including ear drops and topical ointments. I have many clients with large, reactive dogs and am not intimidated by what many people consider to be aggressive breeds. Whether a cat or a dog (or a person for that matter), I just try to show them that, although I am not afraid of them, I will respect their space and allow them to come to me when they feel comfortable. I feel capable of handling just about anything when it comes to pet care, but if you have specific concerns about your pet that you’d like to share, don’t hesitate to reach out! In addition to my pet care experience, I have an eye and a passion for photography, so prepare to be swimming in adorable photos of your pets! I know how hard it is to leave your animals (especially on a long trip) so I make an effort to send lots of quality pictures and videos to my clients. I also want my house sitting clients to come home to a nice clean house, so I always leave my clients' homes in pristine condition. Additionally, I am always happy to bring in mail, water plants, and take care of any other odd jobs while my clients are away. Just let me know whatever I can do to make your life a little easier! I am accepting new clients for drop ins/walks and house sitting throughout the Austin area, and I am seeking to take on boarding clients as well so I’m able to spend a bit more time at home. So if you want to give your dog the opportunity to experience some new sights and smells while you’re away, my dog Noodle (details below) and I would be ecstatic to have a new friend! I have priced my boarding rates lower than my house sitting rates to offer a more economical option while giving me the ability to watch your pet from my home. For a small fee (depending on where you are located) I am also more than happy to pick up/drop off your pet at the beginning/end of a boarding visit. For more information about my home, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Additionally, though I offer “drop ins” and “walks” separately for the sake of appearing in search results, I have them listed at the same rate and consider the booking types interchangeable. I will utilize the time I am booked for however my clients like, whether that’s a 30-minute walk or a potty break + some indoor snuggle time. Please keep in mind though that a standard walk/drop in is 30 minutes. I certainly don’t rush out the door after 30 minutes if I don’t have to, but because this is my full-time job and I can get fairly busy around holidays & weekends, sometimes I do have to keep a strict schedule. So if you’d like me to take your pup on a 30 minute walk, feed them and crate them before leaving, and it takes 5+ minutes to park & access your home, let me know and I can modify the booking to be for 45 or 60 minutes instead.
