For the past eight years, we've had a wonderful pet sitter who kept our pets in her home whenever we traveled. We knew her, trusted her implicitly, and most importantly, our animals adored her. This year, however, she wasn't available during the dates we'd be away, and I immediately panicked. Where was I going to find an A-level replacement with only a week to spare? We've had less-than-stellar experiences with boarding facilities in the past, so that wasn't an option. After exhausting my personal network, I pulled up Rover. I started scrolling through profiles, and while many people seemed great, none truly stood out. Then I came across Hope's profile, which boldly stated, "I'll care for them like they're my own." Okay, you've got my attention. At the end of her stay, Hope let us know that we were out of dog food and offered to pick up a bag so we wouldn't have to rush out immediately after returning home. Our dog certainly wasn't going to starve, and he probably could have skipped a meal if necessary, but having that errand taken care of was truly above and beyond. It's those thoughtful details that separate a good pet sitter from an exceptional one. If you're still reading this review, I commend you—I usually tap out around sentence six myself. The truth is, I could probably write a short novel about how wonderful our first experience with Hope was, but I'll stop here so you can go book her before someone else does. We will absolutely be booking her again in the future, and I've already referred her to several friends. “I cannot say enough great things about Magdalena! She is the best pet sitter I could have ever hoped for. I was SO extremely nervous about leaving my 2 dogs and cat for 8 days when I went on a cruise, but Magdalena made me feel so comfortable. She came over and met me and my animals once before booking and then again a month later to the day before I left for the cruise, which was very nice of her and really put me at ease. While I was away, she was extremely responsive, communicative (and funny!) and sent me daily updates with pictures, which I also really appreciated. She went out of her way to make me and my animals happy and comfortable. She followed all of my directions to a T (2 typed pages! haha) and I came home to a house that was cleaner than I left it. My dogs were totally themselves when I got back and they are pretty sensitive, so I know they were happy/comfortable with her. About: i’ve been taking care of dogs since I was little. It was my responsibility to take care of our family dog. I love being in nature so walking your dogs is an amazing experience and great exercise for them! I love playing with dogs and getting their energy out! i’m currently working part-time and it’s very slow, so I would have a lot of time to spend with your pets and my work schedule is flexible. Therefore I’m willing to fit a lot in. I do not have a fenced yard, and I do have a dog at home who is not very friendly because of his old age and him being protective. But I am more than likely go to your home, so your pet feels most comfortable.
