“Maia is awesome! She came through for us just 1 day before our week long trip and took excellent care of Mamacitas while we were gone. Sent me lots of pics and kept me updated. Mamas was in great spirits when we got home. Would definitely book again!”

“My wife and I are so grateful for the care and attention Riley gave our pups while we were at the festival this weekend. The piece of mind from the prompt updates were great, and he worked with our last minute schedule to come and visit the dogs beforehand to talk to us about their care instructions and meet them for the first time with us present. We highly recommend his services and we will be repeat clients.”

“Jillian did an amazing job with my dog Oliver. He's can get a little over excited, jumping and barking, but she did so great with him and eased all of my anxieties! My dog loved her, and I will be booking again.”

“Willow was fantastic! Both of my kitties immediately liked her and felt comfortable with her! That’s really all I can ask for but she also followed my feeding instructions to a T, and was very respectful of my space- even cleaned their food bowls for me before she left on her last visit! I will definitely be a repeat client 😄”

“Thank you so much Christa for coming by to take care of Ivy while we were gone for the Thanksgiving holiday. It's really comforting to know that someone who is trustworthy and cares is looking after her when we're away.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for a long time, I love them and their energy, either they are super active and want to go for a run with you (totally up to do that) or they just want a slow, easy walk to relax and enjoy! Up for that as well! I also have my own dog, that is 7 years old already. I have a pretty flexible schedule, so I can accommodate their needs, depending on what they are used to. My routine is also pretty flexible from day to day. So it is just a matter to understand what they need and fit it on the schedule. I follow the suggestions and guidelines from their owners, at the end of the day they are the ones that know their pet better than anyone! So, it’s simple try to keep them as close as to what they are used to as possible!
“Here’s a polished 5-star review you could use: Brenda was amazing! She responded incredibly fast, even though my request was very last minute. She took great care of my dog during the drop-in visits and gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was reliable, communicative, and professional. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pet!”

“When our regular sitters were not available for a quick drop in, we booked Michelle and could not have been happier. Despite our two girls being big FURocious looking (emphasize looking) fur children, they were so scared. Michelle sat down in front of their indoor kennel to calm them and encourage them to come out so they could go to the bathroom. We're grateful that Michelle took care of our girls so we could step away for a holiday party.”

“Grant did a great job! He stopped by my place to walk my dogs. My one and half year old pit mix Luna has a ton of energy and he didn’t have any issues with her. I would totally use him again if he’s available.”
“My boys LOVE Michelle! We left for a week and she took great care of my boys. I’m amazed she was able to get my little mix Jack out there with of his kennel without me there. He doesn’t come out for anyone. He went outside, played ball and allowed her to love in him! She took care and loved my boys the I do. I highly recommend Michelle. Dogs know shes a dog lover and love her back.”

“Morgan was wonderful. She helped me in a last minute situation. She came to the rescue as a first timer for us, with rain, a puppy, and a senior boy. I’d definitely use her again!”

“Sam was incredible taking care of our atreven while we were away getting married and on our honeymoon! It was so much easier to enjoy knowing he was safe at home with Sam. We would love to book again for our next trip. 10/10 highly recommend”

“Summer was great!! I was only gone one day for Easter and needed someone to let my pup out and walk her that afternoon. Summer met Izzy a week beforehand and is extremely responsive. Even with last minute surprise (my roommate was home despite me telling Summer she wouldn’t be), Summer took the time to walk Izzy, play with her, clean up her toe wound, and ensure she had enough water on a warm day. I will definitely book with Summer again and you should too if you want someone who will love and care for your pet as much as you so you don’t worry about them!! she also writes the best visit cards and took the cutest pics!”

“Abigail watched our three kitties over Christmas and was punctual, communicative, and very clean (despite one of our kitties being very messy). All were happy when we got home, and even our shy cat warmed up to her :). With both an elderly and a sick cat demanding a lot of attention and special tasks, she made sure everything was exactly how we asked. She took the trash out as well so the house didn’t need any clean up when we got home. She went above and beyond to grab all of our mail and packages!”

About: Located at Hills of Bear Creek, in a quiet neighborhood and fenced yard. There is a walk trail nearby. I am home almost 24/7, with the surveillance on 24/7 for everybody’s safety and pets’. I love animals, they will be treat like they are my own. I will try my best to stick to the routine that your pet is used to, that means I will follow any rules you have for them. I love to go on a lot of walks. I can bring your pet along if they like to walk or run. It depends on their stamina, personality, and routine you have for them. However, I will never go for walk in the dark. They will never be outside unsupervised, even though I own a fenced yard. That is against rover rules and I will abide by it. I always have bowls for water and foods, toys, and treats or bones available if needed. I will also cook real meat or vegetables meals if your pets need them. , please do discuss with me any further about this if this service is required About me: I am a stay home mom with children. When I grew up, I had variety animals. I once owned a monkey, fox, cat, dog, rat, gerbil, guniea pig, and fish. I have one shy cat, Kelsie. She will warm up after a night. She likes to stay back and observe at first. She gets along with dogs and cats, however she is not socialized. As complimentary, I will do one meet and greet before schedule sitting. Your pets and aiko can meet and we can see how things go from there. (I wish I could bring Kelsie to meet/greet. She is a house cat, and doesn’t ever leave) I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! I work from home. I am always home and around your pets. I go out for 2 hours for errands, or any sports. I will always communicate if I have to go out for more than 3-4 hours in ahead of time. I have a fenced yard and I do have gate on the stairs to prevent dogs from going upstairs if dogs are not allowed upstairs.
“We were so pleased with Ellie’s first weekend dropping in to feed and play with our boxer Sadie that we booked her for housesitting for five nights later in the summer. Sadie warmed to her quickly, and we returned to a happy, healthy doggie. She was on time every time and sent photos every visit. Absolutely no problems.”

Dominique is amazing and very intuitive with her care for our pet. It’s as if she’s known my dog forever even though it’s just been a few days. We needed daily help with our senior Ridgeback and when I thought we were good finally on our own, we weren’t, and Dominique was rebooked on very short notice. Book her ahead of time, though, because she is very popular!!

Riley is exactly the type of person you want taking care of your pup. He communicates really well, he's very accommodating and adaptable, knows how to handle dogs of all varieties and personalities, and he has that charm and calm that my dog Mona absolutely adores. Highly recommend!

Amber was extremely caring and flexible even after a mistake on our end with our address being labeled incorrectly. She astounded us by being over and above in her care for Bill. We felt very grateful that she was able to care for him over the holiday weekend.

Keegan did a great job taking care of our senior dog Miller. We had to go out of town in Miller needed his monthly shots at the vet. Keegan was very responsible in taking Miller to the vet and then playing with him at home once they got back. Keegan was a great communicator and clearly loves dogs.We will definitely use Keegan again and highly recommend him to everybody else.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
