“Suzanne was great, animals were well taken care of and great pictures. She made an extra stop when the temperature went to high for the outside dog, to bring them inside.”

About: My lifelong devotion to animals spans decades, beginning at age 7 when I rescued ducklings and extending through a lifetime of loving diverse companions. What sets me apart is the sheer breadth of my hands-on background. Over the years, I have personally owned and shared my life with a wide spectrum of breeds—including a Belgian Shepherd, Staffordshire Terrier, Blue Heeler, and a Miniature Schnauzer. Because I am entirely unphased by size, distinct instinctual traits, or high energy levels, I am uniquely equipped to adapt to your dog's specific personality and look after them exactly as they are. As a self-paced online college student, my schedule is incredibly flexible. Because I can study from anywhere, I can easily adapt my routine to fit your pet's needs right in the comfort of their own home. Whether I am house sitting or dropping in for a visit, your pet will get plenty of companionship. For dogs who love to lounge, I am happy to provide all the couch snuggles and belly rubs they can handle—they make the perfect study breaks for me! If they need 100% undivided attention or an active companion for a structured neighborhood walk, I am fully available. My care and deep respect extend to all family members, including independent felines—having raised both a Persian and a Maine Coon. I am also uniquely comfortable with a wide variety of animals. When you trust me to care for your home and your pets, you are getting a seasoned, versatile caretaker who honors your exact routine, respects every unique boundary, and treats your animals like family. As a self-paced online college student, my day is incredibly flexible, allowing me to fully prioritize your pet's routine. Because my coursework does not tie me down to rigid class times, I am available throughout the day for house sitting and drop-in care. I can easily adjust my schedule to align with your pet's established walking, feeding, and potty break times, ensuring they experience zero disruption while you are away. Safety and respect for boundaries are the foundations of my care. When staying in your home or dropping in, my first priority is securing the environment by ensuring doors, gates, and windows are locked tight. I closely follow all instructions regarding dietary restrictions, feeding schedules, and household rules. Because every animal communicates differently, I pay close attention to body language to ensure they feel safe and relaxed. Whether it means keeping a young pup's training routine perfectly consistent or knowing exactly where a timid cat likes to hide when meeting someone new, I manage your home and your pets with the utmost vigilance and care.
About: We've had dogs in our family since I was an infant and I've never known life without a dog. My two girls are black labs, a mother and daughter pair, rescues from Ohio- Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. They are the sweetest and are in heaven living on our 1 acre "ranch" chasing squirrels, roadrunners, and barking at deer across the fence. They love having company from other dogs and I have a very flexible work from home schedule, so I've been able help people out when they need it! I currently have my own online business where I am able to choose my own hours, so I am able to take good care of your dog whenever you are in need! I live on about an acre of land that's completely fenced and have two loveable older labs that love new friends! I can also easily crate your dog if you would prefer.
About: I am very patient and understanding with dogs and cats and always have a soft spot for animals. I have experience working with older dogs and medication they might need. I am working around a few different aspects such as college schooling, some social gatherings with friends, and overall business. Many weekends I am free and some weekdays I am also free. I do not own any pets but I did watch my friend’s family dogs for many years. I have had a dog and a cat in the past.
“Whit is exactly what I am looking for in a caretaker for my dogs. One of my girls is very timid and afraid of strangers, Whit was so patient and gentle with her, she warmed up to him immediately. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing they were in great hands. Great communication!! Loved the status updates!!! So happy I found him.”

“Page took great care of my dog, Willow! This was Willow’s first Rover experience and I can tell she was very well taken care of which puts my mind at ease. I will definitely be booking with Page again in the future!”

“Whitney was fantastic! She was reliable and was friendly with my cat, Fritz. She also took on a last minute booking when my flight was delayed and I couldn't get home in time. Would definitely recommend and will book with her again!”

“When our regular sitters were not available for a quick drop in, we booked Michelle and could not have been happier. Despite our two girls being big FURocious looking (emphasize looking) fur children, they were so scared. Michelle sat down in front of their indoor kennel to calm them and encourage them to come out so they could go to the bathroom. We're grateful that Michelle took care of our girls so we could step away for a holiday party.”

“Neha was responsive, went above and beyond, and even discovered when our kitties got locked in one of the rooms. Her attention to detail and care for our cats was wonderful and she is hands down the best cat sitter we’ve had.”

About: As a lifelong cat owner, I have experience caring for cats of all ages, from bottle babies and energetic kittens to senior cats over 15 years old. I’ve also cared for cats with special medical and behavioral needs, including diabetes and age-related cognitive challenges. I understand that every cat has a unique personality and comfort level, and I take the time to build trust at their pace. Whether your cat enjoys lots of playtime and attention or prefers a quieter environment, I’ll make sure they receive personalized care, fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and plenty of affection while maintaining their normal routine. My goal is to help your cat feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while you’re away. As a college student with a flexible schedule, I have time throughout the week to provide attentive care for your pets. My availability varies depending on classes and work, but I am available for drop-in visits, walks, and pet sitting throughout the week and on weekends. When caring for your pet, I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship while maintaining their regular routine as closely as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special care requests. I take time to learn each pet’s personality, routines, and needs to help them feel secure while you’re away. Whether caring for pets in your home or during visits, I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving reliable and loving care.
“Juliana took the best care of my Dane while on a family trip. She’s very punctual and I could tell really enjoyed watching after my pup. I loved the pics and videos she sent each time she visited, really put me at ease and made my trip more enjoyable.”

“Christa checked-in exactly as discussed and kept us updated when she couldn’t find our cat that likes to hide. Found safe and sound when we got home. Would highly recommend!”

“Amber was extremely caring and flexible even after a mistake on our end with our address being labeled incorrectly. She astounded us by being over and above in her care for Bill. We felt very grateful that she was able to care for him over the holiday weekend.”

About: Hello! My name is Jade and I would love to meet your furry friends! I started Rover a few years ago but had to stop due to time constraints from my full time job, but now I’m committing all my time to pet care. Currently, I have three cats and two dogs, who are all rescues. I’ve had both of my dogs since they were only a few months old. So I understand the trials and tribulations of puppyhood…puppy training, crate training, obedience training, and leash walking. Hiccup and Paris both love other dogs! They have experience with dogs of all sizes! Hiccup is more of a cuddler and couch potato. Paris is higher energy and loves to play. They would be so excited to have a dog come stay with them. Feel free to set up a meet and greet! I stay at home full time now and my husband also works from home. So your pet will have constant adult supervision during their stay. I have a fenced backyard and a fenced play area in my neighborhood. I also live really close to a large public park with walking trails.
“Christian is an amazing sitter. I had her come in for my first drop in for my two French bull dogs. Not only did my dogs immediately take to her calm demeanor, she got right down on the floor to greet them. One of my dogs is a bit picky and sometimes won’t eat. Christian hand fed her as I had instructed if she was not eating by herself. Both my dogs were happy and well taken care of. I ABSOLUTELY will rebook again when needed. Thank You Christian for being a Great and Amazing Dog Sitter!!”

Thank you once again for the wonderful care of our cat and dog. I love that we come home to them missing us, but in a happy way. Nick is reliable, communicates well, and does the work to win over our pets every time he cares for them. The walks and snuggles help our little guy with his anxiety. I highly recommend Nick and will book him again when we travel.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hays. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
