“Dominique is amazing! Very communicative, professional and, best of all, very caring for our pups! We have one dog with bad allergies and requires extra care; she managed with no problem which gave us peace of mind while we were gone. We will definitely book Dominique again!”

“Alex did a great job taking care of our Marlee! We loved the multiple daily updates with pictures. He was very respectful of our home and left it in pristine condition as well as bringing in packages and checking our mail. We know Marlee had a great time with Alex while we were away. Highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.”

“Lilyanna was so great with our dogs this weekend. We really appreciate how amazing she is with communication and we came home to a clean house, which is always so nice after a trip. We’re looking forward to having her watch our dogs in January as well.”
“Annie puts up with our crazy pup in the best way we are so grateful for her patience and her love with our little weirdo. Truly you could not have a kinder more loving patient person.”

“I have used Duncan’s pet sitting services multiple times now and every time he goes above and beyond with our fur babies and it gives us peace of mind that they are in great hands while we are away!!”

About: I have grown up around animals and currently care for four cats, so pet care has always been a big part of my daily life! Over the years, I’ve also helped neighbors with dog walking and pet sitting, and volunteered with animal shelters, which have given me hands-on experience with a wide range of animals and temperaments. I especially enjoy working with cats and have experience with all ages and backgrounds, including cats with specific medical or behavioral needs. I’m comfortable with administering oral and injectable medications, and I’m very attentive to routine, comfort, and stress levels, especially for anxious pets. In addition to cat care, I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting. Currently, I am most familiar with Labs and Doodles, but have experience walking dogs of different sizes (including puppies!) and breeds through pet sitting and helping neighbors, and I’m confident handling structured walks and daily care routines. I currently work part-time and am in college, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide consistent communication and frequent updates while I’m with your pets! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely and prioritize their normal routine so they feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. At this time, I am not boarding dogs in my home. For cat boarding, however, I provide a calm, indoor-focused environment where safety and supervision are always the priority.
“Our dog is fearful of meeting new people and Brandi's calm energy was great for him (and my anxiety about trying a new sitter lol!). She dealt with feeding him turkey through his muzzle and all the other details of a first meeting we wanted to cover. 10 stars on communication and reliability. She did wonderfully with Georgie on our 'trial run' before our longer trip and I'm so happy to have found someone we can trust our anxious fur baby with while we're away.”

“We knew from our first meeting that our pups were going to be in good hands while we were gone. It is so obvious that Donna loves dogs and she goes above and beyond to make sure that they feel comfortable at her home. We will definitely be calling Donna again when we go out of town. ♥️”

“Our pup thoroughly enjoyed his time with Nichole. Nichole was attentive and communicative - we received regular updates which we very much appreciated. We highly recommend Nichole!”

“Carla was great - very communicative, sent us updates, and most importantly took great care of our dog Mabel! We will definitely see if she can stay with Mabel again in the future!”

“Willow did a great job house sitting for us and watching our 2 dogs and 2 cats, they all loved her and she performed all duties we asked + gave lots of play time and walks. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Loved Robin from the get go. She was very communicative before and during her pet sitting gig. My boys loved having her around. She was excellent at following our routine. She also send a ton of pics. It definitely made us feel at ease. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“Christine has been a great sitter for my two dogs- one who can be very slow to trust sitters and she always keeps me informed with pictures and dogs are happy!”

“Lily was great to have with our dogs. She was very respectful and attended to our instructions with respect and understanding. The dogs took to her right away and when we returned they were calm and regulated.”

“Woody was great to work with. Our dogs were very well cared for. Communication was consistent and helpful. Our house was really well taken care of. We look forward to having Woody stay with our dogs again.”

“Rebecca is the absolute best. She provides so many updates and left my house cleaner than it was when I left. She is so sweet and genuinely loves the animals she takes care of. Thank you, Rebecca. Will absolutely book again.”

About: I love both dogs and cats and have been taking care of both for friends and family for years! I'm active and love to walk, so I look forward to hanging out with your pets! I'm currently job-searching so I have plenty of time to hang out with your pets and be active with them! I'm free Monday-Sunday and available at most times. I care for pets in their familiar home environment, keeping routines consistent, spaces clean, doors and leashes secure. I keep owners up to date with reliable communication and pictures!
About: I got my first cat when I was just 8 years old, gaining full responsibility of her at 10 years old. I am now 19 years old and have had the pleasure of taking care of hundreds of pets (mostly dogs)! For about 6 months I was a kennel technician for a kennel which generally had about 60+ dogs in it. I bonded so much with every dog, most breaks I would just go into a kennel of dog who might've been skittish and try to bond, they really liked that. At this job, I mostly cleaned kennels but also fed dogs/cats their specific food requests and documented it on sheets. On the other hand, I was a dog caretaker at a small business in Austin where I would take up to 7 well-behaved dogs (that's all my car could fit!) to a nearby trail and let them off leash to explore. At the commercial space, I monitored 15+ dogs playing, making sure no one got hurt (or somewhere they shouldn't be!). This job taught me the most about dogs and dog behavior. I'm currently living in Austin with a part time job I limit to Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. So, I prefer to reserve Mondays and Wednesdays for taking care of furry friends! This helps keeps my days organized. Currently, I have lots of availability for evening walks on Mondays and Wednesdays I love animals! I will give your pet lots of love and do as intstructed, whatever is needed! If you request that I give your pet a special treat, I will. I have learned behaviors of pets over the years that I have cared for them, every pet is different but I learn quickly! I will not be able to house your pet because I live in a dorm.
“We really feel lucky to have Jamie be at our house when we are out of town. On top of being a wondering companion for our elder dog, she helps with little house needs (like watering a couple outdoor plants) without me having to ask... which just feels good to know someone is caring with love for house too. She seems so patient and understanding of our dog's slower pace, and she seems to really care about him when she's here🩷”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Driftwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Driftwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Driftwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Driftwood. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
