“Duncan did a fantastic job! This was the first time I had left our pup for a long duration of time and with a non-family member so I was a little concerned since he can be a bit of a handful. Duncan did a great job making me feel at ease by sending lots of photos and updates which were great. The more updates I saw, the less worried I felt and was able to actually enjoy my time away. Not only was he great with Moose but he was also super professional and timely. Would 100% have him watch for us again.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Avery took great care of our two dogs, Bosa and Murphy, while we were away. He was very reliable and communicative, and we really appreciated the updates and photos he sent during our trip. It gave us peace of mind knowing our dogs were in good hands. We came home to two happy pups, a clean house and everything was great shape. We would definitely book Avery again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter! Thx Avery!”

“Alex did a great job taking care of our Marlee! We loved the multiple daily updates with pictures. He was very respectful of our home and left it in pristine condition as well as bringing in packages and checking our mail. We know Marlee had a great time with Alex while we were away. Highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.”

“She was amazing! She sent me pictures and made sure to let me know what was going on when I asked. She was also very understanding when I couldn’t answer sometimes due to being in a no phone zone. She left my apartment how I left with I deeply appreciated! Best sitter I’ve ever had, and I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Nadia was communicative, tidy, and very patient with my dogs (one especially who takes awhile to warm up to new visitors). She even did a bit of extra cleaning for me! Highly recommend her services.”

“Annie puts up with our crazy pup in the best way we are so grateful for her patience and her love with our little weirdo. Truly you could not have a kinder more loving patient person.”

“Carla was great - very communicative, sent us updates, and most importantly took great care of our dog Mabel! We will definitely see if she can stay with Mabel again in the future!”

“Lilyanna was so great with our dogs this weekend. We really appreciate how amazing she is with communication and we came home to a clean house, which is always so nice after a trip. We’re looking forward to having her watch our dogs in January as well.”
“HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Lucrecia is great, second time having her to house sit and watch our puppies. Our dogs love hanging out with her and we feel very confident leaving our pups in her care.”

About: **please make sure you are within my service area before sending a booking request** I am a professional interdisciplinary artist who has worked and volunteered in the animal welfare field for over 30 years. I’ve worked as a vet-tech and kennel tech in shelters, as well as smaller clinics and rescues in Massachusetts and Texas. I grew up in a household with multiple cats and dogs. I am an advocate for bully breeds, and have owned pit bulls and pit mixes through much of my adult life. I treat all cats, dogs, exotics and other animals with utmost care, love, compassion, and patience, regardless of size, breed, and behavior. I have a clean driving record and am fully insured. I appreciate you giving me an opportunity to care for your furry kiddos, and look forward to it. Because I work from home I have a lot of flexibility for pet care. During boardings I stay home so you needn’t worry about your pets being left unattended. I live on 10 acres in Wimberley. My property is fenced, but because some dogs won’t obey commands from those other than their family and might behave differently in a foreign environment I do not let them off leash. My home and porch are spacious so there is a lot of room to play. (I do have plans to securely fence in a dog area on the ranch, and will be sure to mention it when I do). If you choose to board your pet at my place I WILL stay home (which is fine since I work from home much of the time), so your dogs will never be left unattended. I’m very tidy and do not leave anything laying around that could be a potential hazard for your fur babies. I have 2 large dog beds which I wash between uses. I also have a variety of toys for dogs (which also get washed and sanitized), and keep a variety of healthy snacks and (rawhide-free) chews on hand, food and water bowls. I also have a variety of harnesses (currently only for medium and large breed dogs) leads, and dog seat belts, clip-on lights for night walks. If you prefer your pet be crated while here you will need to supply the crate. ** Photos of house and interior upon request.
“Our pup thoroughly enjoyed his time with Nichole. Nichole was attentive and communicative - we received regular updates which we very much appreciated. We highly recommend Nichole!”

“We knew from our first meeting that our pups were going to be in good hands while we were gone. It is so obvious that Donna loves dogs and she goes above and beyond to make sure that they feel comfortable at her home. We will definitely be calling Donna again when we go out of town. ♥️”

“Lily was great to have with our dogs. She was very respectful and attended to our instructions with respect and understanding. The dogs took to her right away and when we returned they were calm and regulated.”

About: Hi! I’m Madi — a lifelong animal lover who enjoys caring for both cats and dogs. I currently have a senior cat and a dog, so I’m very familiar with the different personalities, routines, and care needs that pets can have.I’m especially comfortable with cats (including shy or senior cats), but I also enjoy spending time with dogs who love walks, playtime, and outdoor time. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend meaningful time with pets rather than rushing through visits. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routines — whether that’s feeding schedules, litter box care, walks, playtime, or just providing calm companionship. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend more time with your pets I’m caring for rather than rushing through visits. It also means I’m able to check in during the day and be attentive to routines, feeding times, and any changes in behavior. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routines and environment. In a client’s home, I follow feeding schedules closely, keep litter boxes clean, and spend time observing behavior to make sure cats are relaxed and healthy while their owners are away. I’m attentive to details like secure doors, safe spaces, and minimizing stress. I also work remotely, which gives me flexibility to spend meaningful time with pets during visits rather than rushing through tasks. My goal is to provide calm, reliable care so pets feel safe and owners feel confident while they’re away.

About: I just recently dog sat at a family friends house for a weekend, and I played with her, went outside with her and just made sure she felt loved. She also loves to cuddle, so we cuddled on the couch together. I have open availability right now, as I am a recent college graduate and will have plenty of time to play with and take care of your pet(s)! I am able to play with your pet, and I can give them their food or medication they may need. I can also take them on walks within the area to give them some exercise!
“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Stephanie! She took such wonderful care of our two pups while we were away, sending frequent updates and the sweetest pictures that gave us total peace of mind. Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Wimberley on Rover is $111 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,777 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wimberley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wimberley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wimberley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wimberley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wimberley. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
