Kirby was great! She never left my pup for too long and stayed with him overnight. My pup can be anxious with new people but she was great at being patient and making him comfortable. I was happy to get regular updates on him as well. I definitely recommend Kirby for your pet sitting needs!

Christine was wonderful! This was our first time booking her services, and I would highly recommend her. From our first meet and greet, it was clear she had a lot of experience caring for animals. She was easy to talk to, had good communication during our time away, and went out of her way to care for our dog, Jovi (who can be a bit of a handful and hard to walk sometimes!). She even went out of her way to take him to his favorite park/trail one of the evenings. The coolest thing was finding out she had cared for Jovi when he was a puppy before we adopted him (we’ve had him since he was 1 year old). His previous owner had also contacted Christine for dog sitting, and she was able to look back through her pictures and find young puppy photos of our Jovi! It was totally meant to be! 😆 I highly recommend Christine for all of your animal care needs!

Rory is pure magic, the kind of soul you feel lucky to have found in this lifetime. From the very first meeting, she radiated warmth, kindness, and a gentle grace that our babies trusted instantly. There’s something truly special about her, an old-soul tenderness mixed with genuine devotion to the animals she cares for. She showered our pets with the same love, patience, and presence we would want for them ourselves. Every day away felt effortless because of her, daily photo (she is an amazing photographer as well ) updates and heartfelt messages that made us feel like we never really left. Clean, polished, thoughtful, and endlessly attentive, she thinks of details most people wouldn’t even consider. Rory isn’t just a pet sitter, she’s a guardian angel with a leash in one hand and a whole lot of stardust in the other. Our babies adore her, we adore her, and we simply wouldn’t trust this kind of love to anyone else. Out of this world, truly. ✨🐾 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Diego was wonderful all around! And we will definitely reach out again for support. As an overnight sitter, he left the house great. My toy poodle is getting older, more fussy with going out and eating and Diego had great patience with her. His communication was stellar, from the meet & greet to when we were away. Misty was very relaxed and happy when I arrived. With previous sitters she would be more withdrawn. Overall, I’m so happy Misty had great company!

About: Every pet can find that inner source material to get them to “full diva.” If you’ve ever seen a dog refuse a chuck-it ball covered in dirt or seen a cat stonily meet your eyes when you’ve put down the health-food treats then you’ve witnessed the moments which tell us how to pamper and baptize a diva. In essence, being fully present to listen to an animal telling us their story is what I’m talking about. It goes beyond witnessing and observing and into the gentle parts of existence that we all crave, e.g., sitting down on the grass with the expectant dog and cleaning off the ball with a wet paper towel; making a show of putting a small dot of favorite wet food onto the health food treat. These are the human behaviors which can create trust and sensitivity that rewires neurons. For our pets aren’t “just pets” after all: they are the family that tends our happiness. There is no such thing as diva when you truly consider all they do for us; pampering an animal is actually just being true to our best self and living our best life. I’ve been a full-time pet sitter of 10 years for my own Salt Lake City business, and just relocated to TX. I am conscientious, joyful, observant, and above all attuned to the language of animals (e.g., their behavior) and none of this you’ll have to take on faith because you’ll get (probably too many) videos of our visits to see for yourself. I’ve been through every experience with pet sitting you can imagine. I have seen a very old cat who stopped eating rebound; a Christmas Day (2016) where I worked 20 hours during the biggest snowstorm ever; I have found a cat a pet parent lost; I volunteered to pay for a dog to get her nails trimmed when the pet parent couldn’t; raced up hills and rigged shoelaces to catch two headstrong mini-Aussies after a break-in led to their escape; have talked to owners about their pet’s health and when it was “time”, and cried with them when it was. Events like these don’t make someone a good sitter but remembering them does. These are the events that shaped my life; these are the days that have made it as rich with successes as a gentleminded person can make it. I care about your pet, and I care about your life. I’d love to come meet you and tend your fur-family, and tell you more. This is my full-time gig! I will most likely be working part-time in education come fall requiring daytime hours between 9 and 2 Monday through Friday. I can only do drop-in visits rather than boarding because my resident dogs aren't so keen on other canines, if you catch my drift. Wouldn't be a good fit, so to speak.

About: I've taken care of my own dogs since they were puppies up to their now senior age of 10, so I know how to care for dogs across all ages. But not only my own. I've helped care for people with senior dogs, volunteered at pet shelters, and generally tried to make the lives of as many pets as I can happier! I love pets (especially dogs), so the more time I can spend with our four-legged friends, the better! The only thing preventing me from spending time with other people's pets is taking care of my own two dogs :) In your house, I would care for your dog as if it were my own! My dogs can sometimes be a bit rowdy, so I don't often have other dogs stay at my place for long periods of time.

Michelle was fantastic!! She sent us updates and photos every day and our dogs looked very happy and at ease. She walked them consistently and was very positive with every interaction. Plus, she washed and dried the bed linens before she left, so the house was fully recovered from her stay. We'll definitely be hiring her again, and strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun, caring pet sitter.

About: I have been blessed with many wonderful pets in my life, both big and small! I currently own a horse, Felix. Unfortunately, my dog Alfie passed at 17 years old in January. Although I am not quite ready for a new in home pet of my own, I'd love to help you with yours! I have owned both cats and dogs through my life from puppy/kitten stage to senior life. I have experience with watching dogs, cats, and horses. I have no problem administering medication and I'm comfortable with all ages, sizes, and breeds. 95% of my job is working from home, because of that I am quite flexible in my schedule. On occasion, I do travel for work/personal but will do my best to keep my Rover calendar up to date. My home is pet free, which means your pup will get my full attention! I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I have a nice sized patio that is fully covered. The area has a lot of green space and sidewalks perfect for a long stroll. There is also a dog park available if your dog particularly enjoys being social. I allow dogs on my furniture and bed, however have no issue with sticking to the rules if that is not part of your daily routine.

About: I’m Jacob, a full time nurse, looking for a side hustle to help pay off my student loans :) If you trust me with your pet(s) I will make them my top priority. I will shower them with attention, and take lots of pictures to update you with about our day. I work 3 days a week. I have plenty of free time during the week for your pet’s needs. It would be such a fulfilling past time for me to care for your animals. I live alone in a quiet apartment with no other animals. There’s a good amount of space. Quick and easy walk to the trail around lady bird lake.

Absolutely stellar care for my home and animals!! This was one of the rare times I had no anxiety being away from my animals, because Megan was doing such an amazing job! I'm a little jealous that Trigve might love her more than me 🤣. Lots of pictures and great communication. Directions all followed. My house was cleaner than I'd left it! She even brought some extra treats for my babies to try and practice training commands with Louise. I seriously can't say enough good things about Megan! Thank you! Love, Louise, Trigve & Tribeca.

FAQs for House Sitting - Mustang Ridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Mustang Ridge on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,480 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mustang Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mustang Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mustang Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mustang Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mustang Ridge. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
