“Brandi is great at communicating and understanding my anxious pups needs. George was so happy and relaxed when we came home from a week long trip. I'm so happy he has such a caring new bestie to stay with him when we're out of town.”

“There are not enough good things to say about our experience with Alex. I am normally a basket case with just leaving LeeLoo but now we have our 3 month old, Zeppelin, whom we cannot board. Alex was beyond attentive to their needs, schedules, and our instructions. He is very respectful and knows animal behavior. Our home was left in the same (actually better) condition than when we left. He provided updates frequently. But most of all, when we got home… the dogs weren’t even that excited to see us 😂😂😂😂. They were comfortable and cared for extremely well. Will be booking Alex again for sure.”

“Kalena is amazing! She is so good with my dogs, very communicative and sent lots of photos, videos, and updates, and even a daily report card! Kalena left my home even cleaner than she found it. Already booking her again, and can’t recommend highly enough!”

“Diego was the best dog sitter we could have asked for. He sent us pictures throughout the weekend, and it was clear he genuinely loves our dogs, which made us feel so happy and comfortable. He went above and beyond by taking them on multiple walks each day and staying with them the entire weekend. He even bought them new balls out of the kindness of his heart. Such a great guy and an even better dog sitter!”

“Cayla is a great dogsitter for our rescue dog Annie. Annie tends to get really nervous when we're away and Cayla is very good with her; she's responsible and made us feel very comfortable having her stay in our home. Would highly recommend.”
“Brandon was such a pleasure to work with, when I returned home everything was perfect! Pups were so happy and excited to see me. My house looked great! He communicated regularly, and Brandon definitely eased all my anxiety. I am nervous pet mom and Brandon ensured me that everything went fabulous! Thank you so much Brandon❤️”
“First time with Katie and we’re very pleased. Maggie and Charlie were happy when we got home. Katie left our house very neat and I appreciate that. Would have liked more pictures lol but that’s ok”

“Nichole is amazing. She goes above and beyond to make sure your pups are happy and safe. It is such a realized to have someone I can trust to take care of my babies (dogs) when I’m traveling. She sends pictures and updates which is so reassuring.”

About: I have been blessed with many wonderful pets in my life, both big and small! I currently own a horse, Felix. Unfortunately, my dog Alfie passed at 17 years old in January. Although I am not quite ready for a new in home pet of my own, I'd love to help you with yours! I have owned both cats and dogs through my life from puppy/kitten stage to senior life. I have experience with watching dogs, cats, and horses. I have no problem administering medication and I'm comfortable with all ages, sizes, and breeds. 95% of my job is working from home, because of that I am quite flexible in my schedule. On occasion, I do travel for work/personal but will do my best to keep my Rover calendar up to date. My home is pet free, which means your pup will get my full attention! I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I have a nice sized patio that is fully covered. The area has a lot of green space and sidewalks perfect for a long stroll. There is also a dog park available if your dog particularly enjoys being social. I allow dogs on my furniture and bed, however have no issue with sticking to the rules if that is not part of your daily routine.
“Sage was incredible!! They instantly bonded with our dogs, a feat for two anxious girlies who don’t warm up to strangers easily. They sent lots of photos and took the girls on daily walks. They left our home so spotless and went above and beyond and laundered our sheets and ran the dishwasher. You can tell they really just love animals so dearly, and we are so grateful that our girls had someone as loving and kind as Sage to watch them while we were away. We hope to use them again in the future!”

About: I have had a few dogs from friends and families that I have taken care of over the years for free. I have my own dog that I have had since he was a puppy that is very well trained would love to meet other dogs and experience new fur friends. I work at home and I take breaks very very often. I go to my backyard and even parks just to walk. I would love to take them for walks as well. I have a fenced in backyard and my dogs go out often. Morning, Afternoon, and 2 times in the evening. Just to make sure dogs use the bathroom and get that energy out before they fall asleep.

“Megan was great with Spice! She provided a ton of updates while I was gone and even taught him some tricks. He is a high energy puppy so I was grateful for all her attention and time with him. Will definitely book with Megan again - Spice loved her!”

About: “Cats and dogs living together— mass hysteria!” skillfully managed. I’ve been a full-time pet sitter of 10 years for my own successful Salt Lake City business, and just relocated to TX. I am conscientious, joyful, observant, and above all attuned to the language of animals (e.g., their behavior). One of my inner whys is getting to watch the pets I care for experience a sense of trust and safety and am fully invested in seeing they do. When family is away, it can be a vulnerable time but when pets can relax and have fun it feels like the world finally makes sense. Our pets deserve a happy, attentive sitter who worries as much about them as their family and gets joy from being in their presence, and that is 100% what I’m about. This is my full-time gig! I will most likely be working part-time in education come fall requiring daytime hours between 9 and 2 Monday through Friday. I can only do drop-in visits rather than boarding because my resident dogs aren't so keen on other canines, if you catch my drift. Wouldn't be a good fit, so to speak.

“Christine is the best! We were gone for 6 days, and she handled all of our dogs quirky and lovable obsessions. Also we had an unusual home and yard issue which she helped us with. House was just like we left it but, “a much happier place when we returned. A lot of dog loving going on. Jinx , our 16 yr old border collie told us she will miss her until the next time.”

Robert was amazing! He’s an awesome communicator, and sent lots of photos of our pups so we knew they were being well taken care of. He was also willing to bring in mail and take out garbage and just generally took great care of our home while we were away. He’s very conscientious and so easy to communicate with!. we would highly recommend him, and will definitely use him again when we travel!

This is the second time I book with Diane to take care of my dog Willie. She is very caring and reliable. She did send me messages letting me know about her visitations and Willie's general well being. I do recommend Diane to anyone who is looking for a great pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Niederwald walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Niederwald maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Niederwald choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
