#1, Megan is a caring individual, weather concerning my Sadie or myself. She showed genuine interest from our first meeting. Sadie, on our return was content and calm, the house was spotless and all in order. We will defiantly use Megan again and again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Avery took great care of our two dogs, Bosa and Murphy, while we were away. He was very reliable and communicative, and we really appreciated the updates and photos he sent during our trip. It gave us peace of mind knowing our dogs were in good hands. We came home to two happy pups, a clean house and everything was great shape. We would definitely book Avery again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter! Thx Avery!

There are not enough good things to say about our experience with Alex. I am normally a basket case with just leaving LeeLoo but now we have our 3 month old, Zeppelin, whom we cannot board. Alex was beyond attentive to their needs, schedules, and our instructions. He is very respectful and knows animal behavior. Our home was left in the same (actually better) condition than when we left. He provided updates frequently. But most of all, when we got home… the dogs weren’t even that excited to see us 😂😂😂😂. They were comfortable and cared for extremely well. Will be booking Alex again for sure.

We were so nervous about leaving our dog with a stranger. Epiphany was so professional and came and met our dog beforehand to calm our nerves. She came into our house and immediately sat on the floor, loving on our dog. She was fantastic. Our dog had a small bruise on his ear. She was so attentive it was monumentally better when we returned. She was flexible, calm, attentive and professional. Your pets will be in great hands!!!

About: Hi! I’m Madi — a lifelong animal lover who enjoys caring for both cats and dogs. I currently have a senior cat and a dog, so I’m very familiar with the different personalities, routines, and care needs that pets can have.I’m especially comfortable with cats (including shy or senior cats), but I also enjoy spending time with dogs who love walks, playtime, and outdoor time. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend meaningful time with pets rather than rushing through visits. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routines — whether that’s feeding schedules, litter box care, walks, playtime, or just providing calm companionship. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend more time with your pets I’m caring for rather than rushing through visits. It also means I’m able to check in during the day and be attentive to routines, feeding times, and any changes in behavior. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routines and environment. In a client’s home, I follow feeding schedules closely, keep litter boxes clean, and spend time observing behavior to make sure cats are relaxed and healthy while their owners are away. I’m attentive to details like secure doors, safe spaces, and minimizing stress. I also work remotely, which gives me flexibility to spend meaningful time with pets during visits rather than rushing through tasks. My goal is to provide calm, reliable care so pets feel safe and owners feel confident while they’re away.

Yordanos is so sweet & friendly, my dogs who are very aloof were comfortable with her almost instantly. She gave me constant updates with photos and kept my house nice and clean during her stay. When we got back from out of town, I needed an extra day for someone to watch the dogs, and re-booked her right away. Best dog sitter!!!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Grace! We have an anxious pup who doesn’t always give love willingly. Grace must be a dog whisperer because her and our pup hit it off immediately! It was great receiving photos and activity updates throughout the day. Especially the ones of our pup glued to Grace’s hip! Grace also stayed at our house and left everything cleaner than we left it! Grace provided us with an awesome first Rover experience and we hope she will be our go-to for future trips!

About: As a veterinary technician at an ER clinic, I care for hundreds of dogs and cats each year and have hands-on experience with medication administration, injections, diabetic pets, seizure disorders, special-needs animals, post-operative care, anxious or fearful pets, training staff on protocols, and teaching fellow fosters as well as adopters on animal care and behavior. I am also an accomplished foster who has hosted everything from queen cats nursing kittens to weaned kittens, puppies, dogs, and senior animals. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities and I approach every animal with fear-free handling! Lifelong animal lover and former small business owner, I've spent years working with animals of all kinds through veterinary medicine, 4-H, fostering, and therapeutic horseback riding programs. My flexible schedule allows me to provide attentive care throughout the day, and Blink cameras throughout my home help me monitor pets whenever I'm away briefly. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing plenty of love, enrichment, exercise, and individualized attention. Located near nature trails and a large enclosed outdoor area, I offer a safe, comfortable environment where your furry family members can relax, play, and feel right at home. My flexible schedule, attentive monitoring, and pet-friendly space with enrichment activities, cozy resting areas, and nearby outdoor access ensure your beloved companion receives compassionate, professional care while you're away. 🐾

About: I am a nature lover! I enjoy taking my dogs, Rosemary & Kuzca, on exciting hikes and engaging adventures. We love visiting the river, the dog park, hitting nature trails around town, and quality play time at home. I also love cuddling up with my cat, Bee, when she will let me! I have always loved animals and wanted animal companions since I was a child. From dogs & cats to birds to snakes, the list of animals I’ve had under my care goes on. One thing that sets me apart is my desire to provide exquisite care for my furry/scaly/feathered friends. Every animal deserves to live a high quality life and it brings me so much joy to provide them with that. I continuously grow as a pet parent. I’m always researching new ways to improve my care techniques by staying up to date on things like nutrition, stimulation, and training. I work from home and decide my own schedule so I have a lot of flexibility in how I want to shape my day. This makes it so convenient for taking care of fur babies! We have a fenced yard that is perfect for a short zoomie sesh. Plus we have a gated dog park in our community that we frequent. I always try and incorporate as much outside time as possible.

FAQs for House Sitting - Maxwell

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 3,803 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Maxwell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maxwell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maxwell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maxwell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maxwell. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
