About: As a kid in California, I loved cats but never FULLY understood them until I was an adult. Cats, as they say, are a lesson in consent; they are the Zen masters who teach us the way; they are the speaker through whom we come to accept what the world actually is; they are a puzzle one must be humble enough to accept we're still trying to figure out; they are the authentic companion who can join us within our solitude. Dogs were domesticated to be obedient and friendly and dependent but cats walk alongside us as if they're also equally as interested in figuring out the complex and confusing world as we are. I've been a full-time pet sitter for 10 years and most of my sits were with cats (there were lots of pack-style boarding in Salt Lake City for dogs!); at the start of our relationship, calm and quiet on my part allowed the kitties to open up and therefore "teach" me via their behavior what they were saying. When animals, especially cats, know we are listening, they "talk" more, and inevitably, establishing the expectation that I'd "listen" created a positive feedback loop allowing them to feel safe, have fun and live the best life they can while their family was away. During visits, I allow cats to call the shots: do they want to play, eat/clean/nap, snuggle, enjoy an open window, have an audience while they zoomie around? It all depends! But I'm hearing it all, and therein, a strong relationship is built.

About: I have had a few dogs from friends and families that I have taken care of over the years for free. I have my own dog that I have had since he was a puppy that is very well trained would love to meet other dogs and experience new fur friends. I work at home and I take breaks very very often. I go to my backyard and even parks just to walk. I would love to take them for walks as well. I have a fenced in backyard and my dogs go out often. Morning, Afternoon, and 2 times in the evening. About: I'm such an animal lover. Grew up with dogs, horses, cats and many different animals. I have a very sweet 7 years old fixed male Goldendoodle and a 15 years old male Pug who would love to make some new friends! I live in a nice size house with a locked fenced backyard. Your dog/s will feel like he/she is at home here. They are allowed on the couch to rest and I have a big nice Kuranda bed and couch they can lay on. Plenty of dog toys and chews here. I let dogs out in a fenced yard very often. Love to take them out for walks too! I'm always at home and I will be very communicative via texts I will send pictures to the owners daily so they know their babies are happy and safe :) I'm always at home. I work short hours from 5-8pm. They will go outside to potty often. Every 2-3 hours. A big bowl of filtered water is always provided here. I have a fenced yard and got a big play pen crate if your dog prefers to be crated. I will feed am/pm and even noon if they eat 3x a day.

About: I am a 50 year-old woman. I have had dogs all but 10 years of my life. I adore them and they tend to love me as well. I am not intimidated by larger, stronger dogs. I have a little farm so I am accustomed to other animals as well and I realize the difficulty in finding someone to take care of all of them while you're away. I am comfortable with dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. I can care for a smaller animals as well, but I only have experience with lizards and tarantulas. I work evenings, so I'm available mornings until 1:30 and then again at 11pm. I don't generally stay over, but I can come up to 3 times per day. If you are on the east side of or close to I-35 in Kyle or on the north east side of San Marcos, contact me for fantastic service! I believe in a clean environment to maintain health for the animals. “We left our dog Stanley with Edwin and his wonderful family for a 9-day stay, and they did a fantastic job! Edwin kept us updated with photos and messages, showing Stanley eating, getting brushed, going on walks, and settling in. Anytime I checked in, Edwin was quick to respond and always communicative. We had a great feeling about the stay after a meet-and-greet with Edwin and his family a week before our trip. From the moment we arrived, Edwin took the leash and was confidently in control of Stanley. We’ve done meet-and-greets before where the sitter gives your dog a few pats and focuses more on chatting with you. This was more like a test drive, where Edwin paid close attention to how Stanley handled the new environment. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they took the responsibility seriously and that Stanley would be well cared for while we were away. Stanley is pretty easy going... until it thunders. Then he becomes very anxious. Unfortunately, there were a few storms while we were away. We left medication to help, but it takes awhile to kick in and it sometimes only takes the edge off. If you have a dog like this, you feel pretty helpless during these storms. There is no magic fix. You make them as comfortable as possible, but the only way "out" is getting through the storm. Edwin was proactive with the medication, and along with his family, helped Stanley ride out those storms as well as we could have ourselves. We’re grateful to Edwin and his family for taking such great care of Stanley and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.”
