“Mackenzie was awesome! It’s such a load off our shoulders when we know there’s someone to help take care of our animals while we’re away. Mackenzie was very reliable and we can tell she genuinely enjoys taking care of pets! We will be using her again the next time we leave town.”

“She was absolutely amazing! My dog and my roommate's dog loved her! She was very thorough, very communicative, very trustworthy, and all together such a wonderful person! I am definitely booking her again anytime I am heading out for work. It's very rare to find someone so loving and understanding and responsible.”

“Nina was great. It was our first time hiring a cat sitter and everything went smoothly. The cats seemed to like her and it was clear they were well taken care of while we were away. We would definitely hire again.”

“Jay is a sitter I would use consistently moving forward! Their updates, check-ins, and overall communication were very thorough and made it easy for me to keep my peace of mind while out of town.”

“Alexandra took great care of our cat and house while we were gone with both drop in and house sitting over multiple weeks. She helped with other tasks around our home and kept us updated and asked questions as needed. She sent lots of photo updates and made us feel confident in our cats care while we were gone!”

“We are so appreciative of Michelle!!! Whenever we come back he is always so happy and well cared for by her. Gives us such peace of mind while we’re away, especially all the sweet photos she sends!!”

About: Family pets were obviously my first foray into pet care. Amongst my brothers I was the first choice to watch our youngest four legged family member. This was noticed by neighbors. While young me was a little shy to ask, other pet owners on the block would grab me for the one off walk or dog sitting session. Care continued to my own pets, and here we are. I'm a professional MMA fighter. While I'm not training I get a lot of personal time with my own little fur balls. Walks, play, even just refinding our centers, I think that being close with animals is a true cheat code to personal health. We live in a quiet neighborhood. The area has plenty of walking trails and even some open spaces to really get those four legs moving. Or we could just chill in the sun in the fenced in back yard. At your place I'm able to hang, go on walks (or run), etc. whatever your pet needs!
“Hannah was very sweet and punctual. This was the first time leaving our dogs and Hannah checking up on them and they LOVED HER! She did drop in visits and entertained our puppies the entire 30 min. I’d recommend her over and over again! Thank you so much Hannah! We will definitely book again.”

“We got to meet Jorie a few weeks before she came to hang out with our cats and felt very confident about having her as our sitter! Our outgoing cat took to her right away. Our more shy cat even came out to play. Looking forward to having Jorie come back in the future.”

“Debbie was a wonderful pet sitter whom we will happily use again. She was quick to respond and flexible. One of our kitties was a little unwell, requiring daily medication, which Debbie administered without issue. We highly recommend her.”

“Rachel did an Awesome job she took care our our Babies just like we would have. She was always on time and she did a great job. She played with them and fed and held Salem, Nobody holds Mocha not even us LOL She is a very Timid Baby Girl. That was the first time we had ever left them alone. If we ever need Rachel again we Would Love to use her again. Thank you Rachel. for taking care of our Furbabies”

“Elizabeth was great! She was very active with Sadie and actually took the time to walk her. I even saw her running with Sadie once which is awesome! She also accommodated my last minute request so we appreciated that! We will definitely be using her again to watch Sadie.”

Junny went above and beyond accommodating my unusual schedule to best support my cat and two dogs. He gave my cat daily medication, engaged my ever energetic puppy, and doted on all three. I am grateful for his help and flexibility and for the adorable photos he shared throughout the week!

Absolutely amazing cat sitter — could not recommend Liyuan more highly! Liyuan took exceptional care of my cat, Lottie, and I truly could not have asked for a better sitter. From the very beginning, she was thoughtful, responsible, and incredibly attentive. She treated Lottie not just as a pet, but as her own baby — with genuine care, patience, and affection.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Paradise. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
