About: Caring for animals has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old, it's honestly just who I am! Over the years I've fostered dogs (and proudly failed). Today, my partner and I share our home with 3 cats and 5 adorable Dalmatian-mix dogs. So I'm used to caring for multiple pets and large breeds. I've also cared for medically fragile animals and currently give my own cat daily medication for his asthma, so I am completely comfortable handling pets with special medical needs. I teach at UNLV on Mondays and Wednesdays, but beyond that I work from home running my freelance medical writing business which means I'm around most of the day, most of the week. Your fur babies won't be sitting alone counting the hours, they'll have a present, attentive and loving person right there with them! When caring for pets in your home, I follow every instruction to the letter. Whether it's feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, or household rules. I am extremely detail-oriented and take my responsibilities seriously. I treat every pet as if they were one of my own beloved animals, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in their own environment.
“Fiona is a really good pet sitter, very dedicated, helpful and sweet, my cats loved her. She did everything I needed for my cats very well and is always willing to help. I will book her again as soon as she is available.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and currently have a 2-year-old golden retriever and a 6-year-old cat. I’m comfortable working with both playful and independent pets! I currently offer drop-in visits and walks on weekday evenings and weekends. My availability is more flexible during the summer and school breaks, allowing me to spend more time with your pet (: I will care for your pets as if they were mine! I would love for them to stick to their normal routine, so providing clear instructions will allow me to do so. I provide feeding, fresh water, walks or playtime, and litter box care when needed.
“Rachel was great with my new puppy and older dog. She's punctual and dependable. Highly recommend her. Communicates well and responds to requests quickly. Our dogs were healthy and happy after 8 days. 5 Stars !!”

About: I had a lot of pets my whole life and I feel like im a pretty responsible pet sitter. my mom taught me a lot about training dogs too. currently looking for a part time job and other than that I don't have much going on and have a lot of free time right now i live in a little community. my porch has a tall fence and gate around it and my whole house is pet proof for my pets. I also have a another place, I stay at with a yard and other things for certain occasions.
“Kaitlyn was absolutely amazing with my dogs! She was kind, attentive, and made sure they were well cared for while I was away. She kept me updated and went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and happy. I truly appreciate her professionalism and love for animals. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“One of the most caring and responsible sitters I’ve worked with! We booked with Michelle every other day for 2 weeks while we were away on vacation. One of our cats was stressed out and had diarrhea by the end of the vacation. Michelle went to check on them every single day, even on her doctor's appointment. I really appreciate her and everything she did! Please book with her if you need someone to care for your babies while you’re away.”

“Alexandra took great care of our cat and house while we were gone with both drop in and house sitting over multiple weeks. She helped with other tasks around our home and kept us updated and asked questions as needed. She sent lots of photo updates and made us feel confident in our cats care while we were gone!”

About: I have nearly 10 years experience with providing dog walking, pet sitting and basic grooming. I have worked in a dog salon where I learned handling methods, how to read body language, positive reinforcement, and grooming care. I have assisted my family with caring for an equestrian ranch while they travel; feeding, checking water, cleaning stalls and doing turn outs. I have a flexible schedule for working with your care needs. Just ask and I will find some time to help out where I can. For care at my home I have a fenced in pet yard. I have an 8 year old child so I can only offer care at my home for pets that are friendly with kids.
“Amazing experience with Lori, she was very communicative on every visit and sent picture updates of the set up. I felt like I could fully disconnect and trust her to take care of my babies. It felt like having a trusted friend checking on my pets. She even grabbed my mail for me when she noticed the mailbox was full. She also went above and beyond by cleaning the litter box area. Will absolutely book Lori again!”

About: I’ve taken care of countless pets, including both dogs and cats, since I was 10. Friends, family and neighbors have relied on me to feed, bathe, walk and play with their pets. I also have experience providing specialized care for elderly pets that need medication. I work from home, and I can take breaks to play. I'm available all day for walks, feeding and to pay close and special attention to your fur baby! I will be courteous while taking care of the pets in your home. While boarding them at mine, I have a safe neighborhood with a dog walking area and trails and Foxridge Park around the corner. I will be able to provide a safe home. I have no pets of my own, so your fur baby will have all my attention!
“Brandee was awesome, we went on a 12 day vacation! She went above and beyond to make sure Princess and my house was safe and kept in good condition!! I will definitely be using Brandee again for Princess on my future vacations. Thanks again!!”

Dawn was an absolute delight!! We never left our cat Grace before so we were a bit apprehensive but once we saw the daily reports and pictures of our princess we knew we made the right decision. (Even though our baby was a bit defensive Dawn handled it beautifully) Thank you Dawn for looking after our baby and keeping our minds at ease. We will definitely be using your services again :)

Cierra always takes THE BEST care of my fur babies! She is super communicative and she takes the best pictures. I always get a ton of pictures of them in action from when Cierra plays with them. She treats them as if they are her own kitties. Thank you Cierra for taking such amazing care of my fur babies!

Ashley was great for the 3 early morning visits I booked for her to drop in on my 3 cats while I was away for a long weekend. She visited at almost exactly the same time each day and took a lot of pictures along with good notes for each visit. She even went above and beyond by putting food and water out for the neighborhood strays. I will certainly book again in the future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitney. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
