My mom works with a local organization back in Nebraska to help find lost animals and return them to their owners and my sister is a certified dog trainer in Colorado, so I’ve definitely learned a thing or two. A few days after she moved in, I discovered something extraordinary: Ethel was born on my 58th birthday—the very morning I was out walking a dog named Cuda. Since then, Ethel has become the heart of my home-based boarding setup. She’s the official hostess, a natural leader during playtime, and the quiet enforcer of naptime.
