“Raesa watched our chihuahua mix for the day and he loved her! She was very professional, showed up on time, communicated well and was so sweet with our little dog. He was very comfortable with her right away and was sleeping on her lap. She sent us pictures and updates while we were out which we appreciated! We’d definitely recommend her to anyone to watch their pet and would love to have her watch him again soon!”

“Nicole was amazing! Highly recommend her. She came to our apartment and watched our dog for us while we went out for the night and he loved her! He has separation anxiety so she comforted him and he seemed to feel really comfortable around her. She sent us updates and pictures throughout the night which we really appreciated. Will definitely be having her watch him again soon!”

About: I love dogs of all breeds and sizes! I had a lab growing up and have rescued 3x dogs since. I am transitioning from Alexandria, VA to an internship in Santa Monica. I’m looking to house sit and walk your pups to avoid or offset my evening commute back to the valley! Same day bookings accepted! I am a young professional and transitioning military veteran interning normal business hours. I am completely free on weekends and flexible to accommodate you and your pets’ needs! I am comfortable around all types of dogs. I can run with or extensively play with your high energy dog, if requested! For the more senior, sleepy, and smaller dogs, I give great pets!
“Amelia is the real deal. She is great with my animals which is saying a lot because I have a bipolar cat that fell in love with her immediately, an energetic large pup that is still in training and a senior 95lb pitbull that doesn’t always love the puppy’s need for attention. All of my kids warmed up to her immediately. I am so happy to have met her and trust her implicitly with my fur babies.”

“Once again, Jennifer took excellent care of my kittens! They were happy and healthy when I got home and the house looked just as clean as when I left! There were some tech issues and Jennifer was able to look into them for me and get them sorted so all of the automated cat gear could continue to function.”

“This lady is amazing. She came to our rescue when our hotel advised us our dog could not.go unattended for any amount of time. She was fast to respond and arrive on the scene. She kept me updated with pics. Pinto was scared at first as this was his first time being with a sitter but I soon received pics of him chilling with her. Thanks a million from me and pinto for visiting us! 🙂”

“Fidana is FANTASTIC!! So much so that I think my cat, Noah, misses her! Haha! She is detail-oriented, quick to respond, and most of all, has a loving heart! She sent photos and videos daily, and reassured me that Noah was doing well! This made a huge difference in my trip because I typically feel anxiety when I’m away from Noah. I highly highly highly recommend her!! I most certainly will be hiring her again! Thank you so much, Fidana, for taking such sweet care of my boy! 😻❤️🙏”

“Leland took care of our dog Buzzie for a few days and was great! He is very communicative; I received a bunch of pictures and updates on their adventures which I very much appreciated. He varied up their walks so Buzzie got to experience new sights and smells and even took him to the park. It looked like they had a lot of fun together! We would be happy to book with Leland again in the future.”

“Daylin was such a great sitter for Finley while we were out of town. She was responsive, sent tons of photos and updates, and made sure our pup had plenty of playtime and exercise. We can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals for most of my life. I love high energy animals and taking care of them. I grew up with a dog and cat I still have and care for and more recently I have been a volunteer at the Humane Society, I even ended up starting my own club of volunteers in high school. This role has equipped me with all sorts of animal care skills such as cleaning after them, bathing them, feeding them and administering medication, and making sure to provide lots of love and attention. I’ve always said that I’m not a dog or cat person when asked, but rather an animal person. I love animals and caring after them. I am a college student at Tulane University and I am currently home for the summer! I am available until June 22nd and have open availability all day every day until then. I have a fenced yard and two pets of my own that are both friendly so I am no stranger to spending time outdoors with animals or having playdates. I am more than happy to take pets to any appointments they may have and am able to administer medication if needed.

I’m available for drop in visits, walks, and sitting on both weekdays and weekends. I can adjust to your pet’s routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep spaces clean, and make sure pets are secure at all times. “What a fantastic first experience. Todd was recommended to me. We had a great meet and greet and my dog immediately loved him. He had to give him drops and use an inhaler and it all went smooth. Very happy I found Todd.”

“We are so glad we met Julie! We previously had a bad experience with another Rover and was hesitant to try again but Julie has completely restored our faith in finding good help for our fur kids! Our kids were in Julie’s care during our honeymoon and we didn’t have to worry our entire trip. We were given updates, photos, and she even stayed vigilant when our dog food almost ran out and offered to go out and purchase food if the delivery didn’t make it in time. She was able to adhere to the schedules and activities discussed. Our house was left in the same condition it was in if not better. Julie exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to have her back!”

My husband and I hired Didi to watch our dog on our wedding day. She was absolutely amazing with him. She walked, fed, and drove him to and from the venue as requested. Didi ensured that Honey was well behaved during the ceremony and she even got him to pose for several pictures! 10/10 would rebook Didi for any occasion.

Machenzie did a great job watching my dog! She was caring, attentive, communicative, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him with her. My dog was happy and relaxed when I came back which says everything. So grateful to have found someone so trustworthy — highly recommend!

Birutė is AMAZING!!! She took care of my Frenchie in my home and took great care of him and my home. He has a complex medication and feeding schedule and she followed it perfectly. He was happy, healthy, and living his best life and she sent a ton of photos to let me know!
Anna was great! This was our first time using Rover overnight for our cat and puppy. We were really nervous about having a stranger in our home with our animals but after our first call with Anna we were very confident that she would really care for our pets! She kept our place clean, sent us photos, exercised our crazy puppy a ton and gave our cat some love. I would definitely recommend her!

We LOVE having Jason stay with our girl, Luna. She’s always so excited to see him when he arrives at the house, and is super relaxed and calm when we arrive home from our travels. She’s been a bit under the weather lately but was in such great hands with Jason over our last trip.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pacific Palisades
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Pacific Palisades on Rover is $61.6 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 13,126 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pacific Palisades. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pacific Palisades walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pacific Palisades maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pacific Palisades choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pacific Palisades. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
