“Timothy did an exceptional job watching our dog, Oliver, and staying at our house. He was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process, consistently updating us with messages and sharing photos, which greatly reassured us while we were away. His attention to detail and care in house sitting was evident; we returned to find everything just as we left it, if not better. Most importantly, Timothy made Oliver feel safe and cared for, which is our top priority. His natural rapport with Oliver and his professional approach to house sitting make him an excellent choice for anyone needing a reliable and caring sitter. We highly recommend Timothy for his outstanding service and dedication.”

About: I’ve always loved animals from volunteering at the bunny rescue as a teenager, walking the neighbors dogs, to having a kitty choose me as mamma til her recent passing. I am happy to follow any protocols, ensure a safe walk, do light training. How wonderful is it to get fresh air and exercise with the pups! Old roommates always had dogs so I’d enjoy walking them (even when they were in a stroller!) and helping them get trained (rescues!). Very flexible on timing, I’m in between main projects, so am taking on walks, boardings, etc. I was a PM in corporate til I decided to go the creative route 2 years ago :) in music, wellness, and spirituality. So my freelance schedule allows for varied bookings. My home is a studio, no other pets. Safe yard in case of any quick escapes in a safe, quiet neighborhood. In clients home I am happy to respect any rules and follow any protocols to ensure a safe, happy trip for the pet!
“Jessica was available last minute and did an amazing job with my cat Hobbes. While she stayed with him overnight she made sure to send photos and multiple updates through out the visit and eased my mind of leaving him home. Highly recommend her to anyone!!!”

“Michelle is incredible. For ten days she looked after our two cats and our home. She sent daily photos and updates. She thoughtfully took care of our home, leaving it clean and tidy for our return. It's clear she truly loves cats - ours were so relaxed and chill when we got home. She's a great communicator, a cool and reliable human. We feel lucky and grateful to have found her, ❤️”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats in the home and miss having a little friend around. I recently was a dog / house sitter through WorkAway in New Zealand and loved being able to see a new area on walks with a pet. In high school I volunteered with Michelson Found Animals Shelter as well as Best Friends Animal Society in Utah for a Summer. I love all animals - every shape, color, and size! I'm currently living at home for the Summer after spending the year traveling in New Zealand and unemployed. I've got all the time in the world to spend time with your pet outside of hanging out with my family. I'm very diligent and know I can keep your pet safe. I am happy to give them freedom to roam or make sure they stay in your preferred safe zones - whatever you tell me is best!
“Katy was incredible at making my new rescue pup feel safe and comfortable right away. I recently adopted my dog from a shelter and needed to travel soon after, and she was still quite very anxious and fearful. Katy handled her with so much care and patience so she could continue to relax and settle in in my absence. This was my first time using Rover and having an in-home sitter, and Katy gave me complete peace of mind throughout the full experience. I’m so grateful for her help and will look forward to working with her again in the future.”

“I had such a great experience with this sitter! She was incredibly kind and easy to communicate with from the start, which immediately put me at ease. While I was away, she sent me regular updates and photos, which really reassured me that my dog was happy and in good hands. She stayed at my home and took excellent care of everything ,well-kept space. Most importantly, my dog was clearly well cared for, relaxed, and happy. I truly appreciated her attentiveness, reliability, and the genuine care she showed. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and thoughtful sitter!”

“Elizabeth was amazing. Our little buddy and our home were both in great shape upon our return. She was super flexible and also helped us look out for a package that arrived unexpectedly early. We would def book her again in the future!”

“My dog seemed happy and healthy when we returned after 2.5 weeks. House was clean and tidy too. Michael seems nice and responsible, and is accommodating. I'd definitely recommend him.”

“Grace is an amazing dog sitter and we would recommend her to anyone. She stayed in touch daily and shared photos/videos to show us how Ruby was doing, going above and beyond with her care. We were able to truly relax during our vacation knowing Ruby was in great hands. We would hire her again in a heartbeat.”

About: Based in Ocean Park and serving Santa Monica, Venice, and the Westside, I've been around animals my entire life. I grew up in Utah on a ranch with six dogs, horses, chickens, cats, and just about every other animal you can imagine. Caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I'm an avid outdoorsman and spend much of my free time hiking, exploring trails, surfing, and enjoying everything Southern California has to offer. I have a 4-year-old pug named Kofi, and dogs are already a huge part of my daily routine. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give dogs plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I love taking dogs on adventures, whether that's a neighborhood walk, a trip to the park, a beachside stroll, or a scenic hike overlooking Los Angeles. Every dog is different, and I take the time to understand their personality, energy level, and needs. My goal is simple: treat every dog like they're my own and make sure they come home happy, exercised, and excited for the next adventure. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine. I work from home and spend much of my week walking, hiking, and caring for dogs. I also have a friendly 4-year-old pug named Kofi, so my days are naturally built around walks, outdoor time, and making sure dogs get the exercise and attention they need. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Whether it's a neighborhood walk, a trip to the park, or a longer adventure, I genuinely enjoy spending my time with dogs. I care for every dog as if they were my own. I have a friendly 4-year-old pug named Kofi who often joins us on walks and adventures. Dogs in my care get plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection throughout the day. I love taking dogs on long walks, exploring local neighborhoods, parks, and beachside paths whenever appropriate. Because I work from home and have a flexible schedule, dogs are rarely left alone for long periods of time. I make sure they have regular bathroom breaks, fresh water, exercise, and a comfortable environment where they feel safe and relaxed. We often bask in the sun on my patio as well! My goal is always to make your dog feel at home and give them a fun, enriching day while you're away.
About: Hello! We're a work-from-home couple with older kids and a husky we walk several times a day. Decades of pet experience. Free local pick up/drop off for boarding if less than 20 min drive. We both work from home so there's practically always someone home to care for your pet. We take our dog out in the morning, mid day, and evening. Potty on balcony or patio if needed. Pet friendly community, grass lawn in front of house for potty, dog park close by. I always keep the dogs leashed and have years of experience reading other dogs and how they interact.
About: I've been a dog walker, dog lover, dog groomer, dog kisser, dog snuggler, dog hugger, dog teacher and dog admirer since the day I was born. Growing up, my family always had a dog around the house. We had Mandy Dog (a German Shorthaired Pointer), Winnie (fluffy-sunshine-mix-a-doodle) and Paris (Australian Shepherd/Pitbull mix) at various stages of my youth. When I was 12, I raised my first puppy (a lil fluffy Golden named Lucy) and I taught her everything from sit to play dead. In high school I was a dog bather for a local dog groomer. From this job I learned about different breed personalities, needs and care. Currently, I work from home and would love to care for your friend. I'm very flexible on timing and availability. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! I work from home and my schedule is very flexible. I can do same-day visits on the west side. Whatever you and your pet need I will try to accommodate. My front yard is enclosed and safe for sniffing and hanging out but I will be walking your pets all around my area (avoiding the canals) and playing with them on the beach (unless you don't want this/they don't enjoy that).
About: I love dogs of all breeds and sizes! I had a lab growing up and have rescued 3x dogs since. I am transitioning from Alexandria, VA to an internship in Santa Monica. I’m looking to house sit and walk your pups to avoid or offset my evening commute back to the valley! Same day bookings accepted! I am a young professional and transitioning military veteran interning normal business hours. I am completely free on weekends and flexible to accommodate you and your pets’ needs! I am comfortable around all types of dogs. I can run with or extensively play with your high energy dog, if requested! For the more senior, sleepy, and smaller dogs, I give great pets!
“I don’t have enough good things to say about Sky! My GSD Rylee is always stressed when I leave, and Sky did an amazing job making sure that she was comfortable and happy. She sent pictures and kept me updated throughout her stay. I will definitely be booking with her each time!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pacific Palisades
My husband and I hired Didi to watch our dog on our wedding day. She was absolutely amazing with him. She walked, fed, and drove him to and from the venue as requested. Didi ensured that Honey was well behaved during the ceremony and she even got him to pose for several pictures! 10/10 would rebook Didi for any occasion.

Machenzie did a great job watching my dog! She was caring, attentive, communicative, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him with her. My dog was happy and relaxed when I came back which says everything. So grateful to have found someone so trustworthy — highly recommend!

Birutė is AMAZING!!! She took care of my Frenchie in my home and took great care of him and my home. He has a complex medication and feeding schedule and she followed it perfectly. He was happy, healthy, and living his best life and she sent a ton of photos to let me know!
Anna was great! This was our first time using Rover overnight for our cat and puppy. We were really nervous about having a stranger in our home with our animals but after our first call with Anna we were very confident that she would really care for our pets! She kept our place clean, sent us photos, exercised our crazy puppy a ton and gave our cat some love. I would definitely recommend her!

We LOVE having Jason stay with our girl, Luna. She’s always so excited to see him when he arrives at the house, and is super relaxed and calm when we arrive home from our travels. She’s been a bit under the weather lately but was in such great hands with Jason over our last trip.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pacific Palisades
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Pacific Palisades on Rover is $61.6 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pacific Palisades walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pacific Palisades maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pacific Palisades choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
