“Shannon was so cute with my cats! She sent me pictures each time she visited them. She is responsive to any concern, and is quick to communicate if she has concerns herself. I will absolutely be rebooking her in the future, thank you Shannon for being awesome and caring for my cats like they are yours. -Erica”

About: I've interned at an animal hospital, walked family members dogs, house sat for friend's pets, and genuinely love animals. I've learned animal behavior and know how to approach a new dog so they feel comfortable around me. I'm always learning of new ways to care for my own pets, and this care extends onto your loved dog! I'm currently attending community college, I'm available during the weekends, Fri-Sun for walks and drop ins! :) I'm willing to do a meet and greet to find out if me and your pet get along! I'm experienced in raising my own dogs and completed a veterinary assistant program to learn how to care, handle and approach dogs. I understand every pet has their own personality and may need time to become comfortable around a new person. I carry plenty of disposable bags, water bottles, small collapsible bowl for my dog to drink at any moment during the walk, treats (with consideration of specific dietary needs) and toys!
“Hillary is the best! We always feel so comforted knowing she is checking in on our two cats. She always goes above and beyond and also provides so many photos which makes us so happy! :)”

“In the realm of pet care, there are those who simply do their job and then there's Nora! Nora's dedication to watching our beloved cat Morri while we were away has exceeded our expectations and assured us that we've found our new permanent cat-sitter. Not once did we worry about Morri's wellbeing under Nora's careful watch. She treated Morri as if she was her own - attending to her needs, keeping up perfectly with her feeding schedule and ensuring her routine remained unaltered. It was evident that Morri was in safe, caring hands, which was such a relief. What separated Nora from past sitters was her thoughtful communication. She sent us plenty of photos during each visit, which was a welcome treat when we missed Morri the most. Her updates were not just a mere routine; they carried a personal touch that reassured us of Morri's contentment and well-being. Ultimately, having Nora as Morri's caretaker wasn't about merely having a cat sitter; it felt more like leaving Morri with a trusted friend. We are beyond grateful for the peace of mind Nora's exceptional service provided, and we highly recommend her services to anyone who treasures their pet as a beloved member of the family. Thank you, Nora, for your fantastic care of Morri. We look forward to working with you again in the future!”

About: We are a pet-centered family. Fur babies have been at the heart of our home for over 20 years. We've rescued dogs and cats across various stages of life, some with special needs, and loved them well into their senior years. We’re conveniently located near 101, making for an easy drop off and pickup. We provide personalized care, tailored to the specific needs of your pet. Whether it's adhering to the dietary requirements of their meals, administering medication, or modifying walks and play to accommodate any physical limitations or developmental needs. Animals of all types tend to gravitate to me. I'm patient and playful. If they just need a calm presence to cuddle with or a buddy to play fetch and get their zoomies out, I adapt to the needs of your pet. Our home is filled to the brim with a love for pets and their care. My wife leads a community for pet parents and my daughter is a future vet who makes every animal she meets her best friend and desires to rescue as many she can. I'm a retired engineer and my wife works from home. Pets are family and our schedules are adjusted accordingly to ensure they are not alone. I love nature and giving pets the opportunity to relax and play where they feel the most comfortable. We can walk the park grounds right outside our door, relax on the deck, or snuggle on the couch. We can also hop in the Jeep and go exploring if they prefer. Every pet is different and my goal is to always meet them right where they are.
About: We’ve taken care of dogs & cats since we were young. We would house sit for friends and family. We’ve grown up around pets all our lives and we will treat your babies like our own! Thomas works night shifts and is able to come sit or check in on your fur baby during the day. Veronica works during the day and is able to check in during the evening. We have senior dogs ourselves so unfortunately we can’t spend 24 hours with your baby but we can check in and hang out anytime. We can take care of your babies at your homes with walks, letting them outside in the back yard whatever their needs may be we have handled it before.
“My husband and I highly recommend Peggy. We have 2 cats, and one is very anxious and she ALWAYS runs away when people come over… but not when Peggy came over to meet them on Friday, before we left for our trip. I was shocked when Althea didn’t bolt, and she also got down from the top level of the cat tree and sat down in the living room to observe and listen as we talked with Peggy. 1st time, ever, so it was a direct response to Peggy’s calm and friendly energy We had to attend a friend’s wedding near San Diego, and felt very confident that our “kids” were in very capable hands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

About: I have been a dog mom coming up for 9 years. The love and care I have for my own I enjoy giving to all dogs. At the moment I do not have a job that requires me to be at a certain location during the day so I am free mornings and afternoons. I make sure all pets are walking normally before and after and make sure that they don't consume anything off the streets. My main goal is to make sure dogs are tired or atleast distracted during their walk so they get the sense that they went out and can get a good nap in after.
About: Full-time 🎉 Home All Day Hi! My name is Noemi. I grew up in a family oriented household with a family that loves animals. I’ve been taking care of them since I was 9! We’ve had dogs, pigs, reptiles, cats, ducks! They were a great way to learn responsibility. I have always brought in rescues providing them with great homes before sending them off to a forever home🤍! I have volunteered at Animal shelters to show my love unconditionally to dogs, cats, bunnies or reptiles! I have a large passion for my furry friends! I have a lot of experience with animals that have suffered with separation anxiety and medical issues. Volunteering at the animal shelters has provided me with great experience professionally and personally. I understand our furry loved ones usually have certain routines to go by. I am very accepting to different family routines! So please feel free to communicate that with me if your furry baby has a specific routine. Momentarily, I only have two dogs and a cat named nimbus! They get along great with other dogs or cats! If you would like me to keep your furry baby separate I can also provide that. My house is larger and I can keep animals separated inside the home or outside what your preference is. I am a very caring and generous person that is very loving and compassionate. I love to go above and beyond for animals especially making them feel warm and happy. IM ALWAYS AVAILABLE ☺️I currently work full time with dogs and my clients and run a doggie day care 😊 I'm always willing to accommodate with my clients schedule and what is needed :) My home has a brick wall around the yard it’s very large and tall ! About: I've been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had pets, and I've spent my life caring for both dogs and cats. I currently have cats of my own, and although my beloved dogs have passed, my love for animals has never changed. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I'll provide the same patience, affection, and dependable care that I'd want for my own pets. Caring for animals has been part of my life since I was a child. I currently care for my cats and have years of experience with both dogs and cats. I understand that every pet has its own routine and personality, and I enjoy providing playtime, affection, and dependable care so owners can have peace of mind while they're away. I'm a full-time special education teacher, and my husband is also a lifelong animal lover who is home during the day. While I will always be your pet's primary caregiver and point of contact, having another caring adult in the home means your pet will enjoy extra companionship, attention, and a safe, loving environment. I provide a safe, clean, and loving home where pets are treated like family. I have a fully fenced front and backyard, giving dogs plenty of space to play and explore safely under supervision. I also have a nearby park, perfect for walks and extra exercise. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, rest, and any special instructions you provide. My goal is to help every pet feel comfortable, secure, and loved while you're away, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing they're in good hands.
About: When I was 8, my family got a Shih Tzu pup that I learned so much from over his 15 years of life. Because of the tight-knit bond I had with my Shih Tzu, I'm most familiar with the needs of small/toy breeds like grooming, exercise, and senior health issues. I recently volunteered at the county animal shelter, where I was responsible for providing dogs with enrichment and exercise. As part of the training, I became familiar with interpreting and understanding dog behaviors (regardless of sex/breed), like adjusting to their comfort levels, respecting their boundaries, and reading their body language to ensure everyone's safety (including theirs). Ultimately, I can assure you that your buddies will be cared for like they’re family! I'm currently on medical leave from both college and work, so I'm usually at home all day! This is perfect if you have a cuddly or anxious pet, because I'll have plenty of time to spend with them (napping, cuddling, playing, etc). When it comes to any services offered, I want to make sure that your pets and I are safe at all times. Aside from safety, their comfort is very important to me. I'll do my absolute best to make sure they feel safe and comfortable under my care. I always make sure to introduce myself slowly and will respect your friend’s need for space at any point, especially if they're shy. I usually turn the area under my desk into a mini fort for them with their blanket and other comfort items like beds or toys. This usually helps them have a safe and comfortable space to retreat to if they ever get startled or overstimulated. I've learned to give pets ample time to acclimate to the new person and environment before introducing them to anyone else, especially if they're known to be shy. I do my absolute best to go at their pace and comfort level, not mine.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oxnard
We are so grateful to have found Hillary as our pet sitter. She is conscientious, responsible, and our pets like her! She took excellent care of our temperamental cat and Italian Greyhounds. She also was able to manage three pets during each visit, which can be challenging given we have large Rover pens that need to be cleaned and attended to during each visit. She also managed a medication requirement for our senior cat and special feeding instructions for our senior dog. We highly recommend Hilary!

Alison was absolutely wonderful with Bentley! From our initial meet-and-greet, I could immediately tell she was kind, patient, and genuinely loves animals. As a dog mom, that’s incredibly important to me, and she made me feel completely at ease. During her visit, she took Bentley on a nice walk, spent quality time with him, gave him lots of affection, and followed all of my care instructions perfectly. I could tell she treated him with the same love and attention he’s used to receiving, which meant so much to me. She also kept me updated throughout the visit, and I came home to a happy, relaxed pup. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Alison again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will truly care for their pet as if they were their own.

Nykie was incredibly reliable, communicative, and thoughtful the entire visits. I received frequent updates, photos that showed just how comfortable, happy, and well-loved my puppy was. I highly recommend Nykie to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets. I will absolutely be booking again!

Sarah took excellent care of my dog. She gave us so much peace of mind on our trip and it was honestly like we never left. Our dog obviously had a wonderful few days of drop in care with Sarah and we will be contacting her again in the future for more care. Thank you, Sarah!

Ariela is outstanding! First she was able to come last minute, second she was able to handle the instructions of my automatic cat feeder (which can be finicky & slightly complicated) and third she came on time! My cat is also super shy but warmed up to her and came out of hiding. Ariela is great with communication, friendly and reliable. She watched my cat for 5 days. I feel very confident and comfortable leaving my pets with her for an extended period of time. I would book with her again in a heartbeat! She gets the human and paw seal of approval!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
