“Well we popped her cherry for her first time dog sitting g. She was outstanding. She came to our hotel and hung out with Stash all evening. Sent pictures and Stash was very content and happy later in the evening. Not a stressed out crazed puppy. She will definitely be a great addition to the rover team!”

About: Hello old friends and new! I am back in the sitter game. Only now, I dont have a house so I can't board pets or do daycare, but I can do house sitting and drop-ins. I Grew up with dogs & had a lot of cats too, I get along with critters better than people because they're less judgemental. I will try to give your pet the experience they need, and a new friend to love. I have been used to daily pet care of my own pets for 6 decades, and for 2 years with others. It just comes natural to me. I'm adaptable to your pet's schedule, just show me what to do on our meeting and you will get vids & pics to show all is well.
“Sabrina was wonderful with my pup. She sent frequent updates and took great care of her while I was away for the weekend. I would recommend her and will definitely use her again if needed in the future!”

“Neyda was great. We couldn’t be happier with the level of care she provided to our puppies and our home. My trip was so stress free with her updates, pictures, and videos. She is super respectful and caring. I hope my puppies will be able to hang with Neyda in the future!”

“Alex took great care of my pups and my home while I was out of the country. I left with great peace of mind but he still sent many updates and photos throughout. Will use again! Thanks!”

“Albie was great with watching our dog while we were on a trip. There was some time to get warmed-up, but he pushed through and was able to have good interactions with him after a couple days. He is great about sending pictures and updating us on how things are going. We appreciated that he followed instructions and took good care of our dog.”

“Kevin was prompt, communicative, and courteous. He was open to hearing all our instructions for our two ~60 lbs pups. One dog has mobility issues and Kevin was kind to his needs. They were well taken care of for their time with him and we would certainly rebook.”

“Victoria is amazing, She’s a total genius with Frenchies. She treated our two like her own, got them on a great potty schedule, and kept everything consistent with drop-in walks and a solid routine. The best part: she brought her two Frenchies and met up with our two for an actual “Frenchie party” at the dog park. What more could you ask for? She’s our new go-to every time.”

“Lucas took great care of my very energetic doggo. He took him on little walks and trips, cuddled with him, and kept him on his regular feeding schedule. He took great care of my home, kept everything clean and was great at communicating anything that was going on. Would definitely recommend!”

“Best experience we have ever had. This team rocks!!! We are very sensitive about our two pups and they set our minds at ease from the jump. We will be in touch again and now can make plans without worries. 10 Stars!!! Best Edith & Manny”

“I cannot say enough great things about Alexis. She stepped in on extremely short notice when I was in a bind with a work trip, and it meant everything to me. One of my dogs had just gone through major surgery only days before, and it honestly killed me not being able to be there myself. Alexis handled everything with professionalism, compassion, and total reliability. She didn’t just watch the dogs, she cared for them. She kept me constantly updated with messages and photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. Communication was clear, consistent, and reassuring the entire time. On top of that, she respected and looked after my home as well. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and genuinely caring, Alexis is it. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone without hesitation. She will be my first call anytime I need help again. Truly grateful I had the chance to work with her!”

“Wow! Christina was simply amazing. She took care of my ailing dog who really struggling with end of life issues. She took time to make sure she took her medications and was so patient walking with her. Gracie’s arthritis is so bad that it’s a really slow walk with her so I really appreciated Christina’s patience. She house sat as well and left my home in perfect condition. Christina is not only a great dog person she is a wonderful person. Highly recommend.”
“Autumn was great with our three cats! She made sure to provide constant updates when she visited and made she they got so much love and attention in addition to their daily needs. I would highly recommend her!”

“Sage truly went above and beyond while pet sitting for our girl Penny over the week of Thanksgiving. We can't begin to express how happy we were. She took the time leading up to the trip to meet Penny, learn her schedule and mannerisms, what she liked and didn't like and it's clear they have a bond with one another. Over our trip Sage sent lots of videos, updates, and photos which we loved. Sage was very kind and accommodating for our senior girl and made her feel very calm and relaxed with us gone for the holidays. When questions came up, for example about Penny being a picky eater, Sage reached out in a very calm and professional manner to talk with us. She not only left our house as we left it, but cleaner! She took the time to pick up the guest room and do the laundry on her own accord. Sage is an amazing dog sitter and made us feel very comfortable being away from home knowing Penny was in good hands. She has nothing but our heartfelt thanks, admiration, and we'll continue to work with her for our future trips and walks where Penny needs someone we know we can trust.”

Another amazing visit with Allison! 🐶💙 I had to head to Santa Monica early for business, and she spent four hours with Bentley, including feeding him his morning meal, taking him on two walks, and just hanging out and keeping him company. I absolutely love how happy Bentley always looks after spending time with her. I came home to one very happy and very tired 😂 pup, which tells me he had a GREAT day! It gives me so much peace of mind knowing he’s well cared for when I’m away. Allison has definitely become one of our go-to people for Bentley, and I’ll absolutely be booking with her again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We couldn't have asked for a better house sitter. She was responsive and easy to reach the whole time, sent regular updates so we never had to wonder how things were going, and took great care of everything we asked — including our dogs and home. It gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and communicative.

Angel was great & our dogs loved him! He left our house clean when we got back, too. He communicated with us & sent us photos of the dogs. We were happy to find someone who loved hanging out with our dogs as much as us! We would love to have him as our pet sitter again in the future.

Beau was in excellent hands for an overnight with Layla. She handled my big chocolate Labrador teen ager with skill and care. We had great communication throughout and she made every effort to understand how Beau’s schedule runs. Her overnight stay was a success!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oxnard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oxnard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oxnard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
