About: Hi, my name is Arielle H. As I’ve grown up, I’ve rarely ever not had a pet in my house. I have loved dogs ever since my first dog at the age of 2! I have been working and volunteering with animals for years!I will maintain any schedule changing and will make sure your dog gets extra love and care while being away. This grants me opportunity and I absolutely can’t wait to meet you and your pets and take great great care of them! I work on the Port Hueneme base, so I’m available after 4 PM on weekdays. On weekends, my schedule is open and flexible to meet your pet’s needs! When caring for pets, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routines as closely as possible — from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and cuddle time. I know how important it is for pets to feel comfortable in their own environment, so I provide lots of love and attention while respecting their space and unique personalities.

About: We’re a dog-loving household based who recently relocated to Ventura, we settled into a cozy ground-floor one-bedroom in a super walkable neighborhood near the college—perfect for easy strolls and outdoor time. Our pup Momo is now 4 years old, friendly, playful, and loves having new companions around. We have years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and we truly treat every pet like part of the family. I work remotely most of the week (in-office just 2 days), so your pet will have plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. My husband and I share pet care responsibilities, which means flexible availability and consistent care every day of the week. We enjoy getting outside—whether it’s neighborhood walks, beach time, or weekend hikes—and we’re happy to include your dog in those adventures if it fits their routine and energy level. At home, we offer a safe, calm environment with lots of love, playtime, and structure. For care in your home, we’re attentive to your pet’s established routine and preferences, and can provide reliable visits throughout the day and week. Pet care is a natural part of our daily routine. I work from home most of the week, so I’m around for regular walks, playtime, and supervision throughout the day. We build our daily schedule around making sure our guests get plenty of exercise, attention, and engagement. My husband and I share responsibilities, so your pet will have consistent care and companionship every day of the week. Safety and trust are our top priorities. In our home, we provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment with plenty of supervision, playtime, and rest. We take time to understand each pet’s personality, energy level, and needs so they feel comfortable and cared for. Walks are always on-leash, and we’re mindful of safe routes in our neighborhood. When caring for pets in a client’s home, we follow your routines and preferences closely—from feeding schedules to exercise, medications, and any special instructions. About: I've been taking care of animals since I was a child. I had two senior dogs of my own that I have had since they were both puppies. Two older cats and one kitten have made it into our lives. I used to work at a doggy daycare center where I would watch, feed, and bathe any dog there. I currently work at a vet clinic and can administer any medications necessary for your pets health. I currently work full-time at a vet clinic in Ventura. I work from 7:40am to 5pm. I can do boarding and sitting any day of the week as long as you give me a few days notice. For walk-ins and drop-ins, I am also available in the morning before 7am and after 5pm. If you reside in Ventura I can provide a midday drop in or walk as well. I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of room for your fur babies to roam around. If your pet needs any kind of medication or any special care, I will be more than happy to be able to do that for you while you are away.

About: I am a huge animal lover (often times more than a human lover) and find such happiness in caring for them. I treat every pet as if they were my own with treats, pets, and the occasional selfie. I have experience in training puppies, caring for elderly dogs, and of course the sass of caring for kitties as well. I hope you consider me to be a friend to your pet! I have a flexible schedule and spend a lot of time at home caring for my own pets. Because of this, I’m very used to daily routines like feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and checking on animals throughout the day. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and pet sitting, and I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while their owners are away. I take safety and comfort very seriously when caring for pets. I’m very attentive to animal behavior and make sure pets feel calm, safe, and secure in their environment. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully for feeding, routines, and any special care. I also have experience with multiple pets in a home, including my own cats and dog, so I’m comfortable managing different personalities and making sure every animal gets the attention they need.

About: I've had dogs since I was thirteen; I've trained them since they were pups. I know how to care for them, play with them, feed them, and bathe them. I'm currently working part-time and have a pretty flexible schedule to take care of any sweet critters! On weekdays, I'm available to house-sit mornings until 1 pm and nights/overnights after 6 pm! For weekends, I'm available all day on Saturday. Sunday, I'm available from morning until 12 pm. I will care for your pets the way I care for my own. I'm one to stick to a routine they're familiar with and am extremely patient with slowly introducing myself to your pet. I do my best to make sure they're comfortable and have their own space. I will ensure they get plenty of play time. For your dog's safety on walks, I avoid approaching other dogs unless told otherwise.

Sage truly went above and beyond while pet sitting for our girl Penny over the week of Thanksgiving. We can't begin to express how happy we were. She took the time leading up to the trip to meet Penny, learn her schedule and mannerisms, what she liked and didn't like and it's clear they have a bond with one another. Over our trip Sage sent lots of videos, updates, and photos which we loved. Sage was very kind and accommodating for our senior girl and made her feel very calm and relaxed with us gone for the holidays. When questions came up, for example about Penny being a picky eater, Sage reached out in a very calm and professional manner to talk with us. She not only left our house as we left it, but cleaner! She took the time to pick up the guest room and do the laundry on her own accord. Sage is an amazing dog sitter and made us feel very comfortable being away from home knowing Penny was in good hands. She has nothing but our heartfelt thanks, admiration, and we'll continue to work with her for our future trips and walks where Penny needs someone we know we can trust.

About: Hello there! I have hands-on experience caring for a puppy for around two months, including helping with daily routines, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and basic training. I also volunteered with PAWS for Reading, where I helped with reading dogs and learned the importance of patience, consistency, and making animals feel calm, comfortable, and supported. I’m dependable, attentive, and careful about following instructions, whether that means feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, or any special routine your pet needs. I’ll treat your pet with care, respect, and attention like they’re my own. I am currently available at any time that suits your schedule. Kindly go ahead and book an appointment with me, and I assure you that I will respond to your request in a timely manner. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. FAQs for House Sitting - Oxnard

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Oxnard on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,754 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oxnard. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oxnard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oxnard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oxnard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oxnard. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
