“Sara is excellent pet sitter. She was very easy to communicate with always on time. When we returned home our dogs where very relaxed and they were very happy. Highly recommend.”

“Well we popped her cherry for her first time dog sitting g. She was outstanding. She came to our hotel and hung out with Stash all evening. Sent pictures and Stash was very content and happy later in the evening. Not a stressed out crazed puppy. She will definitely be a great addition to the rover team!”

About: I've been taking care of animals since I was a child. I had two senior dogs of my own that I have had since they were both puppies. Two older cats and one kitten have made it into our lives. I used to work at a doggy daycare center where I would watch, feed, and bathe any dog there. I currently work at a vet clinic and can administer any medications necessary for your pets health. I currently work full-time at a vet clinic in Ventura. I work from 7:40am to 5pm. I can do boarding and sitting any day of the week as long as you give me a few days notice. For walk-ins and drop-ins, I am also available in the morning before 7am and after 5pm. If you reside in Ventura I can provide a midday drop in or walk as well. I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of room for your fur babies to roam around. If your pet needs any kind of medication or any special care, I will be more than happy to be able to do that for you while you are away.
“What an amazing young lady !! Ali met us the day before pet sitting and was very engaging. The day of her assignment she was prompt and kept us informed during her entire stay. We recommend her very highly.”
“Alex took great care of my pups and my home while I was out of the country. I left with great peace of mind but he still sent many updates and photos throughout. Will use again! Thanks!”

About: Hi, my name is Arielle H. As I’ve grown up, I’ve rarely ever not had a pet in my house. I have loved dogs ever since my first dog at the age of 2! I have been working and volunteering with animals for years!I will maintain any schedule changing and will make sure your dog gets extra love and care while being away. This grants me opportunity and I absolutely can’t wait to meet you and your pets and take great great care of them! I work on the Port Hueneme base, so I’m available after 4 PM on weekdays. On weekends, my schedule is open and flexible to meet your pet’s needs! When caring for pets, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routines as closely as possible — from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and cuddle time. I know how important it is for pets to feel comfortable in their own environment, so I provide lots of love and attention while respecting their space and unique personalities.
“Lisa was incredible and the best dog sitter we’ve hired!! She showed up for the meet and greet on time, and the dogs LOVED her. My dog Koda is happy to see you and then typically runs away but with Lisa, he cuddled right up to her. When she stayed in our home, she made sure to send lots of pictures that were professional quality of both of the pups and send daily updates as well. She was very responsive and texted us back right away. I wasn’t worried about a single thing while she stayed at our place. She was very kind, respectful, & I honestly couldn’t even tell that anyone had stayed in our home with how neat she kept it. I would HIGHLY recommend Lisa. She is passionate, caring, & truly loves on your animals as if they were her own. I can’t imagine booking with anyone else. She’s simply the best!”

“Kaleigh was very professional from the start, super responsive throughout the whole process, and great to work with. On short notice, Kaleigh set up a meet and greet and stayed in our home to watch our 5 year old and 5 month old golden retrievers. Puppy’s are not easy but we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with Kaleigh. Will definitely use again!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 15, and I currently have two of my own, along with my mom’s dog, whom I care for on weekends. I’ve raised both my dogs and my mom’s dog from puppies, handling everything from potty training to managing resource guarding. My shelter dog presented a unique training challenge, but with patience and dedication, he’s become a wonderful companion. As the family’s go-to pet sitter, I manage pet care during vacations and offer boarding in my home. Working from home allows me to provide attentive care throughout the day, ensuring your dog gets consistent supervision and affection. I work from home, so you can have peace of mind that your dog will be cared for all day. My working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, during which I can offer in-house boarding or doggy day care. I’m available after my working hours for dog walks and drop-in visits in Oxnard and Ventura, and can house sit within a 35-mile radius. I’m at home all day for my dogs, so your dog will also receive 24/7 care and attention. Our home is located in a gated community, offering an additional layer of security and peace of mind. Inside our home, we’ve installed gates that separate the main living area from the front door and garage, providing extra security to ensure our dogs are always safe and sound. We ask that all dogs be up-to-date on vaccines and on a flea & tick preventative to ensure the safety and health of all the pets in our home, including our two dogs. To make sure everyone gets along, we’ll arrange a meet & greet before any stay. This way, we can ensure your dog is comfortable with our pets, and everyone feels at ease.
“Kristina stayed with my 3 dogs in my home for 6 days while I was out of town and I felt confident they were getting spoiled and well cared for. She even brought a stroller for my 2 elderly girls to ride in on walks and sent me pictures and videos each day. Would definitely recommend, thanks Kristina!”

“My husband and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving away from home and it helped knowing Mallory was watching over our fur baby. Charlee loved her right away so it was very comforting knowing she was in good hands. Mallory took care of our home as well. We will definitely be calling on her again.”

About: Helped take care of a geriatric dog who was incontinent and lost the use of her legs in the last year of her life. I have had animals in my home all my life, from dogs, cats, birds, and lizards. I usually work a couple of days a week for half days at Michaels. I am available for check-ins most mornings and in the afternoons. I live in a condo with tons of space for running around. I have two of my own cats, and any boarders would have to be fine with them. My cats have their space. I respect any habits and boundaries you have at your house for your pet. I can brush and clean up after the pet, and play their favorite game.
About: I love animals (all sorts!) & have been caring for pets since I was a child. Puppies or seniors, I'm ready and able to love and care for your furry family member as well as you would yourself. I'm comfortable giving medications, including shots (I had a dog who was diabeic and need daily insulin shots), light grooming (burshing etc., - no trims), and cleaning up any unexpected messes. Whether it's daily visits or overnight stays, I hope you will consider me when you need someone trustworthy to care for your pet in your absence. I have a part time job, so need to be away for 3-4 hours each afternoon (usually from 2:30-6-6:30), but other than that, I'm available anytime. I am able to come to your home, whether it's just hanging out for a few hours so they have company, or overnight stays for as long as needed. I am not able to care for pets in my own home, as I live in a moblie home, and do not have a yard.
“We had a wonderful experience with Mikaela as our cat-sitter. She is sweet, punctual, reliable, and wonderful with our cat. We felt completely comfortable leaving our cat and home in her care and appreciated her updates while we were away. Highly Recommended!!!!”

About: I genuinely love spending time with animals, and I take the time to ensure they feel happy, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine as I prioritize time for walks, feedings, and play sessions. I work a very flexible remote job throughout the week and have a lot of spare time! Their needs are naturally integrated into my day, allowing me to provide attentive and reliable care. I prioritize safety and trust by following these practices: respecting the home, following instructions, regular updates, and emergency preparedness. Building trust and ensuring the pet feels comfortable in their familiar environment is always my priority.
“Gretchen was amazing with Ava and took great care of her and our home while we were away! She was especially great at communicating with us and sharing frequent updates, which is always much appreciated! We came home to a clean home and a happy dog. Would highly recommend Gretchen!”

“She is awesome. She took care of my dog, my cat, my koi and my birds in my aviary. She kept the house really nice and clean and even washed my blankets. I will definitely be using her in the future. She watched my animals and my home for 3 weeks. You're awesome!”

“Sarah was fantastic!! One of my girls is a bit persnickety so she doesn’t necessarily like everyone, but she took to Sarah pretty quickly. I would definitely use her again and she deserves a 10+ rating..”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Naval Air Station Point Mugu walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Naval Air Station Point Mugu maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Naval Air Station Point Mugu choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
