About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a little child, ranging from Yorkies to Great Danes. Along with taking care of friends and family dogs I have had to pleasure of owning my own. I recently purchased my own working dog and hope to bring to the table all of the knowledge I have learned through this experience! I recently finished my commercial fishing season which leaves me with plenty of free time. That being said I tend to start my mornings off early to beat the heat for the dogs! I have a fully fenced in back yard that is large enough to run around in. I also have my own dog that would enjoy keeping your dog company

“When we found Kris, we were in a pickle with our two pups. Kris came by to meet and greet, and my pups instantly latched onto her! While we were gone we got updates and photos which made this so much easier as we have two older pups! Kris also washed and folded the linens from the bed before we arrived home! Five Stars for sure!”

“Alex took great care of my pups and my home while I was out of the country. I left with great peace of mind but he still sent many updates and photos throughout. Will use again! Thanks!”

About: Helped take care of a geriatric dog who was incontinent and lost the use of her legs in the last year of her life. I have had animals in my home all my life, from dogs, cats, birds, and lizards. I usually work a couple of days a week for half days at Michaels. I am available for check-ins most mornings and in the afternoons. I live in a condo with tons of space for running around. I have two of my own cats, and any boarders would have to be fine with them. My cats have their space. I respect any habits and boundaries you have at your house for your pet. I can brush and clean up after the pet, and play their favorite game.
“Julie was just amazing. Great communication about my dogs while I was away on my trip, she took lots of photos and videos of my puppies. She also went above and beyond...she picked up all the dog poop in the yard, she bought my dogs had a bunch of new toys and chew bones, she washed their dog bowls, she even toped off their water bowls before she left. Would definitely book her again.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Mikaela as our cat-sitter. She is sweet, punctual, reliable, and wonderful with our cat. We felt completely comfortable leaving our cat and home in her care and appreciated her updates while we were away. Highly Recommended!!!!”

“Natalie you are amazing! You took such good care of our dog, and our home. We think of you more as a friend because the way you’ve treated our dog and our home. Rip always appeared happy in the photos you sent and your updates on his adventures like puppy play dates made us happy to know that his well-being was important to you too! You kept our house tidy and the dogs things clean and organized. My husband and I agree that Natalie is the best sitter we’ve ever had caring for our dog and he’s picky. You are a dreamer pet sitter and I hope we can hire you again! Thanks again Natalie!”

About: I’ve helped rescue two dogs so far within these past few years. Animals have really brightened up my life. I love caring for pets any size and age. My old co workers would call me the doggy whisperer because I liked talking to the dogs that would come in with their owners and the dogs seem to take a liking to me. I’m not sure why dogs gravitate to me. I think it has to do with how much I appreciate all the love they have to give. They truly are little fury blessings. I am grateful to come in to contact with pets. I enjoy making them smile from ear to ear. With great responsibility, there also comes great rewards with having pets. I’m here to help anybody in need of a dog/house sitter! My availability is currently open anytime Monday through Sunday, day or night! About: I spent my entire life with cats and dogs and I honestly can't imagine a home without them. Over the years, i've cared for everything from newborn kittens that needed bottle feeding to senior cats and dogs who required extra patience, medications and specialized care. I have experience giving oral medications and caring for pets with ongoing medical needs. Senior pets have a special place in my heart, and I've rescued several older cats and dogs because I believe they deserve just as much love and comfort in their golden years. I know every pet has their own personality. Some are playful and social, while others are shy, anxious or simply needs someone who understands that trust takes time. I will take the time to get to know each pet and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while you're away. I will take care of them as if they were my own. I will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax, knowing they're in good hands! I am currently retired, so I have lots of time to devote to you're animals besides my own. I can work my schedule around most days and times. When caring for your pets in your home, my top priorities are safety, trust and keeping their routine as normal as possible. I will carefully follow all feeding instructions, medications, schedules, walking routines, and any special care directions provided by you. I always make sure doors, gates and windows are secure, and I will closely monitor your pet during walks, playtime, and feeding.
“Arianne shows so much love and empathy to our senior pets. She took care of Matilda in the sweetest way. We really appreciate knowing they are in her good hands while we are away.”

“Fantastic house sitter and fur baby caretaker!! Kim took care of our dog Prince for 6 days while we were away out of state. She stayed in our home without AC in the middle of a historic heat wave and she took such great care of Prince. She walked him in the mornings to avoid the heat, rubbed him with ice packs to cool him down and bought him special treats out of her own pocket. We came home to a happy pup and our house well cared for. I can’t thank Kim enough for being such a great sitter! Highly recommend”

“July 16, 2026 I contacted Julianne when my current pet sitter had informed me she was moving. She was on time for our meet and greet as well as our departure time for our trip. She was in constant contact with me sending pictures of Bogey and informing me of how they were doing throughout our trip. Needless to say I was very happy how things were going. When we returned, Bogey was very happy and calm, our sheet and towels cleaned and replaced and the house was immaculate. I we’ll definitely use Julianne as my pet sitter again. Sharon H.”

Mikaela went above and beyond taking care of Artemis & Apollo. I only had a day trip planned to see my brother and of course both of my dogs decided to fall apart in the 18 hours I was gone. Mikaela was great with communication and really helped me out in an extremely stressful situation.

We had a wonderful experience with Kristina during the 7 days we were away. She took excellent care of Ella which gave us real peace of mind. Keeping Ella’s daily routine as consistent as possible is very important to us and Kristina did a great job with this. She also kept us informed with frequent updates as to how Ella was doing throughout the day.

Julie did a fantastic job taking care of our dog and cat and housesitting while we were away. Our dog is deaf and takes a while to warm up to people and Julie was so patient and caring with her. She gave us detailed updates and lots of pictures! I’d highly recommend Julie for any house/pet sitting needs.

If you can’t be with pets Alex is the next best option. In fact, I think his care was an upgrade to our dog’s and cat’s usual routine. They got way more walks and play in with Alex. Though we were away Alex kept us apprised of all the fun with text and photos. We recommend his loving care without reservation.

This is the second time Alexis has stayed at my home, and this time she sat both my resident Aussie, Max, and a foster dog, Marley. This was a big experiment since it was the first time Marley had stayed with a sitter. Alexis was incredible. She dealt with so much with the stressed and anxious foster dog while I was gone (potty accidents, giving medicine, cleaning up a broken glass he pulled off the counter, etc.). Marley is a bit of an escape artist, and she made sure he was safe the whole time and couldn’t sneak out. She also kept in regular communication with me which was essential for this stay. I’m so grateful for her care and effort while I was on my weeklong vacation! Thank you so much, Alexis! :)

Great communicator and very professional, I would highly recommend booking with Samantha. She is a rockstar!!! Our whole experience with her was super seamless. She really put a lot of effort to ensure our girls were comfortable and took such good care of our home too while we were on vacation for 2 weeks. We didn’t have to worry about anything since she always made us feel at ease with her attentiveness and regular updates. She also left our home clean and immaculate when we got back. Simply amazing!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Cooper. Danielle kept in contact with me, sent pictures and answered my texts in quick time. Cooper was very happy. This was a 5 night stay in my home and the house was in perfect shape when we arrived. I would highly recommend her and will ask her again. It was a pleasure to know we could get away and not have to worry. Thank you, Danielle!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Camarillo on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 2,939 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Camarillo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Camarillo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Camarillo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Camarillo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Camarillo. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
