David was fantastic with our troublemakers. He sent daily updates. He even went out and bought a new leash after one of our dogs ate through two! The house was super clean when we got back. Couldn’t even tell anyone had been here. Super happy and will definitely use him again!

Stephen was so loving and kind to my dogs. My home was in perfect condition when I arrived home with my Christmas tree lights on. He checked in regularly. He even cleaned my dogs eye once per day as he recovers from an eye infection. I can’t say enough good things.

Rachel was amazing! She was patient and bonded with my pets (despite barking at first), she asked great questions, sent me updates and photos, and even baked cookies! The place was in great shape when I got back, and I had no worries while I was gone. I'd definitely hire Rachel again!

We had an emergency and Michael was great with all our clan. We have German Shep who recently had surgery so he had to watch him closely, and a totally eat the carpet crazy husky pup visiting for him to manage and he did great!! He followed instructions even setting timer to let puppy out at potty time to avoid accidents in the house! Kept them calm and under control. Gave them treats as promised and made me able to attend an event with total peace of mind. Would ? recommend him for dog sitting in your house and will use again!

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is that I’ve lived with animals my entire life and truly love caring for them. I have experience with both cats and dogs, and I understand their routines, personalities, and needs. I own cats, and many of my friends have dogs and cats that I’ve helped take care of, giving me hands-on experience with different temperaments. I’m patient, attentive, and reliable, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily and weekly routine. I care for my own pets every day, which includes feeding, cleaning, playtime, and making sure they are comfortable and safe. I plan my schedule around pet care, so I’m used to being consistent, on time, and attentive. Because of this, it’s easy for me to fit pet sitting, walking, and check-ins into my routine and give each pet the time and care they need. I care for pets by following their usual routines and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In my home or a client’s home, I provide fresh food and water, regular walks or playtime, litter box or cleanup care, and lots of attention. I respect the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and house rules. I always keep the environment clean and make sure pets are supervised and never left feeling stressed or ignored.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of patience, attentiveness, and genuine care I bring to every pet I watch. I take the time to understand each animal’s routine and specific needs so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.I’m reliable, communicative, and always keep owners updated, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I plan my schedule to make sure I can give each pet consistent, focused attention. I am available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and on Wednesdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These morning and early afternoon hours are perfect for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, check-ins, and maintaining your pet’s normal routine. I prioritize being punctual and dependable, so you can count on me to be there when your pet needs care. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress free as possible. I follow feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, take them on walks, clean up after them, and spend quality time playing or simply keeping them company. I also make sure the home stays clean and secure, and I always send updates so owners feel reassured while they’re away. If caring for pets in my own home, I create a safe, calm, and welcoming environment where they can feel comfortable. I maintain consistent feeding and potty schedules, provide supervised playtime, and give them plenty of attention and affection. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual needs whether that means extra exercise, basic training reinforcement, or gentle care for senior pets so they feel at home and well cared for at all times.

About: I have a lot of experience pet sitting, I’ve done it for neighbors as a kid and multiple times for extended periods for friends while I was in the Air Force. I have no pets currently but I’ve lived in multiple houses with both cats and dogs and am experienced in caring for both. I’m currently taking a break from school for summer, and am only planning to do self-scheduled work, so until the end of June I can freely plan my schedule around any pet care needs. My main goal would to be to get detailed information prior to the care of your pets’ specific schedule and needs. I’ll follow any specific instructions given to the letter. Otherwise, I’d ensure they get daily walks and activity.

Sara was a fantastic house & dog sitter for us! Our little man Atlas is 16 and doesn't do well outside his own environment, so having a trustworthy sitter come stay at our place is important. From the getgo Sara was quick to communicate and it was great that she wanted to meet in person to make sure it was a good fit. Atlas was super happy when he first met Sara, and they seemed to have a good time together. We got proactive daily updates with pictures, and she asked clarifying questions on a couple of things to ensure she was meeting our needs/requests. The house was super clean when we returned just like we left it. We left for the airport earlier than her arrival (as planned), and although she was running a little late to arrive at our house, she was transparent about it and offered to stay longer on the final day to make up for it, which was appreciated. Overall, she was wonderful, saved our Thanksgiving plans by responding to a last-minute request, and we'd absolutely have her back if/when the need arises! Thanks Sara!

About: I have owned all sorts of animals my entire life. From dogs to cats, to pigs and chickens, and I have experience caring for all of them. I have regular clients on Rover who I walk for weekly. I have also done multiple drop-ins for people’s cats and dogs in the past. Tasks included feeding, cleaning, and changing litter. I feel so connected to animals and I love spending time with them. They will always be a part in my life. I am pretty open regarding my schedule. Sundays I am only available after 1pm. I prefer not to take walks after 5pm but sometimes I will! On walks I always make sure to be aware of my surroundings and avoid other dogs just in case. For drop-ins I would ensure that all water and food bowls are full/food is given based on strict instructions from the owner. I wouldn’t mind playing with the pets as well!

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I got my first puppy at six years old, and since then I haven’t been able to imagine a life without animals. I’ve cared for trained and untrained dogs, playful puppies, senior pups who need more assistance and everything in between. I have also been around kitties with all different personalities and needs. While my professional pet care experience has reached almost two years, I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals and I have yet to meet a pet I couldn’t love. I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I am currently a student who is also completing a CNA course for the duration of the summer. My schedule is open for your pets besides my allotted class time which is on Tuesday's, Thursdays and Saturdays at 4.5-6 hours at a time. Since I will be gone for quite some time during the day, I would love to tire them out however they need it. Any other day of the week I would be happy to spend the whole day with your furry friends! In my home or yours, I will create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for your loved ones. I am experienced in adapting to each pet’s unique needs, personality, and routine. I also believe that communication is key, so I will keep you updated with regular messages, photos, and check ins to ensure you always know how your furry family member is doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind while providing your pet with the care, attention, and affection they deserve.

About: Thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Carly and I am a Moorpark native who has recently graduated from UCLA with three degrees: a BS in neuroscience, a BS in biology, and a BA in psychology. I bring a high level of responsibility, organization, and attention to detail to my pet-sitting services. Growing up with 2-3 dogs (right now I have a mini aussie and a red heeler!) has equipped me with the skills to handle multiple animals simultaneously, care for older dogs, and exhibit patience with puppies. My experience extends to caring for a cat in my college apartment, showcasing my versatility with various pets. What truly sets me apart is my genuine love for animals; I am a caring and compassionate individual who views pet-sitting not just as a job, but as a passion. I work in the pharmaceutical industry as a biologic purification process engineer, but still love to help take care of animals simply because ai love it. I also spend my free time volunteering at the Moorpark Teaching Zoo! My background in handling different pet needs, combined with a natural affinity for effective communication, makes me the ideal choice for pet owners seeking a dedicated and loving caregiver. As a recent UCLA graduate who moved home to save money after college, I have lots of free time to care for your pets! I have a job at a biopharmaceutical company that I have not yet started, so in the meantime, I hope to meet and care for your furry friends! Respect and clear communication are paramount in my approach to caring for pets, especially in my client's residence. I prioritize establishing clear boundaries and open communication before starting any pet care assignment to ensure that I fully understand and adhere to the specific requests and preferences for both the home and the pets. Respecting the sanctity of the client's space and community is very important to me, and I am committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and secure environment. By setting clear expectations and respecting boundaries, I aim to provide a seamless and stress-free experience for both the pets and their owners.

About: I’ve taken care of family and friend’s pets for a few years. I have worked with a trainer so I have some knowledge of positive reinforcement training. I am not working at this time so my schedule is very flexible. I can stay at your home the full time you are away or just do drop ins. Whatever you need. I do not offer care in my home but will be happy to stay with your pets at your home which puts your pets in a more comfortable environment.

Kristie was the perfect choice for my happy, active 18 months young female Corgi! They bonded immediately upon meeting. Kristie was patient and played with my puppy off and on during her 6 hours of care while I was gone, attending a funeral 92 miles away. I never worried. Phone calls returned promptly. And my first time using Rover! Very happy with both!

FAQs for House Sitting - Moorpark

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Moorpark on Rover is $67.41 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 4,664 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Moorpark. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Moorpark walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Moorpark maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Moorpark choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Moorpark. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
