“Stephen was so loving and kind to my dogs. My home was in perfect condition when I arrived home with my Christmas tree lights on. He checked in regularly. He even cleaned my dogs eye once per day as he recovers from an eye infection. I can’t say enough good things.”
“Rachel was amazing! She was patient and bonded with my pets (despite barking at first), she asked great questions, sent me updates and photos, and even baked cookies! The place was in great shape when I got back, and I had no worries while I was gone. I'd definitely hire Rachel again!”

“David was fantastic with our troublemakers. He sent daily updates. He even went out and bought a new leash after one of our dogs ate through two! The house was super clean when we got back. Couldn’t even tell anyone had been here. Super happy and will definitely use him again!”
“Emily is an amazing sitter!! She watched our 13 week old Golden Retriever puppy for 2.5 days and was so incredible with him. He can be a handful, but she is so patient and caring. Highly recommend her and we will be using her a lot more in the future!”

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is that I’ve lived with animals my entire life and truly love caring for them. I have experience with both cats and dogs, and I understand their routines, personalities, and needs. I own cats, and many of my friends have dogs and cats that I’ve helped take care of, giving me hands-on experience with different temperaments. I’m patient, attentive, and reliable, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily and weekly routine. I care for my own pets every day, which includes feeding, cleaning, playtime, and making sure they are comfortable and safe. I plan my schedule around pet care, so I’m used to being consistent, on time, and attentive. Because of this, it’s easy for me to fit pet sitting, walking, and check-ins into my routine and give each pet the time and care they need. I care for pets by following their usual routines and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In my home or a client’s home, I provide fresh food and water, regular walks or playtime, litter box or cleanup care, and lots of attention. I respect the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and house rules. I always keep the environment clean and make sure pets are supervised and never left feeling stressed or ignored.
“Jeffrey was amazing! He kept us posted constantly while we were out of town. It helped us give us a peace of mind and we will definitely be booking him again in the near future.”

“Austin was great! Have already watched our giant dog Sassy twice. Great with our energetic girl. Was a great communicator and our house was nice and tidy when we returned home. Thanks Austin!”

About: I have had around thirteen years of cat care experience, having owned four cats, a tarantula, and a snake throughout my entire life, and currently volunteer at an animal shelter. I have had a lot of opportunities to learn how to take care of cats and their body languages, so I am very experienced with knowing when to back off or if a cat wants love or pets; I also know what to look out for to prevent cat fights from happening or how to break one up. Although most of my experience is in cats, I am always open to learning new things or how to take care of dogs, and I am always willing to walk your dog or house sit for them because I am someone who loves animals and will never shy away from a chance to meet them! I am still a student right now, so I am only free in the afternoons and evenings during the weekdays, but I am totally free on weekends (minus 2-5 PM on Saturdays where I volunteer). I am also looking to get a part time job so my schedule might shift around. I will happily send you pictures or video updates of your puppies or kittens, and I am also extremely willing to play with them using their favorite toys, and I don’t mind spending extra time for snuggling sessions while I’m there! ❤️ My house is usually very quiet save for the occasional cara passing by, and the cats are allowed to wander about and do whatever they want. I will also never try to force an interaction with a cat if the cat does not want it. I brush and groom my cats if the opportunity comes up, and is open to snuggling with a cat anytime 🥰

About: Hi! I'm a dog-lover with a flexible schedule, so I can pop in for visits or take your pup(s) out for a good walk any time of day. My daughter and I have two dogs of our own (Luna and Sunny), so I know firsthand what it takes to keep a dog happy, active, and well cared for. This isn't a job to me, it's just what I love doing. Whether it's a quick potty break, a longer walk, or a check-in with some cuddles and playtime, I'll treat your dog like part of the pack. If you'd like, one of my own pups can occasionally tag along on walks too; happy to chat about what works best for your dog I recently moved back to Moorpark, so I have plenty of open availability for walks and drop-in visits. I'm an early riser for an early AM walk and I enjoy an evening stroll before it gets too late. I am very familiar with dog safety when it comes to making sure collars/harnesses are on and leashes are fully attached before opening any doors. I also take my time when passing other dogs on leashes (just in case).

About: Thank you for considering me to care for your pets and your home! As a lifelong dog and cat lover, I’ve been fortunate to share my life with pets of all breeds, sizes, and ages—from playful puppies and curious kittens to senior companions who need a little extra patience, attention, and gentle care. I understand that every pet is unique, and I believe in caring for them according to their individual personality, routine, and needs. Whether your dog needs extra playtime and exercise, a calm companion, medication, help with special care routines, or even transportation to a vet appointment, I’m happy to provide dependable and compassionate support. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. I’ll treat your pets and your home with the same love, respect, and attention I would want for my own. I will carefully follow your instructions, routines, and guidelines to help your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals and caring for their needs. I’m someone who values consistency, patience, and creating a calm, comfortable environment for pets. I’m able to build my day around providing reliable care, including walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, medication, and any special routines your pet may need. I understand that pets thrive on routine, and I’ll make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and care they’re used to while you’re away. Caring for animals is something I genuinely love, and I take pride in giving pet parents peace of mind knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. I believe the best care starts with understanding each pet’s individual personality, routine, and needs. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I make it a priority to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible so they feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I will follow your instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication, grooming, special needs, and any household guidelines you have. I’ll provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care while also respecting each pet’s boundaries and personality. I understand that your home is your pet’s safe place, and I will treat both your pets and your home with the same respect and care I would want for my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry family members are happy, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

“Sara has great communication and was very flexible when we arrived home later than expected. Our dog Luke appears totally unfazed that we left town and was kept very happy and safe.”

About: I have owned all sorts of animals my entire life. From dogs to cats, to pigs and chickens, and I have experience caring for all of them. I have regular clients on Rover who I walk for weekly. I have also done multiple drop-ins for people’s cats and dogs in the past. Tasks included feeding, cleaning, and changing litter. I feel so connected to animals and I love spending time with them. They will always be a part in my life. I am pretty open regarding my schedule. Sundays I am only available after 1pm. I prefer not to take walks after 5pm but sometimes I will! On walks I always make sure to be aware of my surroundings and avoid other dogs just in case. For drop-ins I would ensure that all water and food bowls are full/food is given based on strict instructions from the owner. I wouldn’t mind playing with the pets as well!

About: What sets me apart is my firsthand experience raising and caring for a dog through every stage of life. I got my first dog four years ago as a puppy, so I understand the patience, consistency, and attention that puppies need, from early morning potty breaks and training routines to handling the energetic teenage stage and now adult care. That experience has made me very responsible, dependable, and comfortable adapting to different pets’ needs and personalities. As a college student returning home, pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and extra availability throughout the day. I’m able to dedicate time to walks, feeding, playtime, and giving pets attention and companionship while their owners are away. Since I’m looking to earn some extra cash, I’m reliable, adaptable, and happy to work around different pet care needs and schedules In my home I care for pets by taking them out on walks three times a day, as well as giving them the attention they need.
“Sarah was fantastic!! One of my girls is a bit persnickety so she doesn’t necessarily like everyone, but she took to Sarah pretty quickly. I would definitely use her again and she deserves a 10+ rating..”

“Jeremy took incredible care of our bullmastiff, Bernie, who can definitely be a handful! He kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, left our home spotless, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and will absolutely book him again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of family and friend’s pets for a few years. I have worked with a trainer so I have some knowledge of positive reinforcement training. I am not working at this time so my schedule is very flexible. I can stay at your home the full time you are away or just do drop ins. Whatever you need. I do not offer care in my home but will be happy to stay with your pets at your home which puts your pets in a more comfortable environment.
“Alex took great care of my pups and my home while I was out of the country. I left with great peace of mind but he still sent many updates and photos throughout. Will use again! Thanks!”

Daniela did a fabulous job babysitting my little one's for the weekend. Excellent communication, complete with photos and videos of how they were doing. Being able to trust someone with your pups and your home is such a gift. I am definitely going to be a repeat customer. Thank you, Daniela! I appreciate you.

Kristie was the perfect choice for my happy, active 18 months young female Corgi! They bonded immediately upon meeting. Kristie was patient and played with my puppy off and on during her 6 hours of care while I was gone, attending a funeral 92 miles away. I never worried. Phone calls returned promptly. And my first time using Rover! Very happy with both!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Moorpark on Rover is $67.41 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 4,532 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Moorpark. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Moorpark walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Moorpark maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Moorpark choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Moorpark. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
