“I can't recommend Jeff enough! We have used him for several walks and used him for our first overnight. My 3 dogs absolutely adore him!! He is very pleasant to be around, clean, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be using his services as long as we can. We truly can't thank you enough Jeff!!!”

“Trinity house sat for us and cared for our 2 dogs. One calm senior dog and one energetic young pittie. She handled and cared for them well, kept us updated, and was very thorough with communication. We felt comfortable with her staying in our home and keeping our dogs on their schedule. Would definitely book again. Thanks, Trinity!”

“Claire was such a wonderful person to have care for our dog, Momo! i received daily updates on their adventures and I never worried about how Momo was doing. He had an absolute blast with her, and when I came home Claire had left the apartment where she stayed with Momo clean and just as great as I had left it! Thanks again Claire and Momo can’t wait to see you again soon.”

About: I have been caring for animals for most of my life and have experience with dogs, cats, and horses of different ages, sizes, and personalities. Friends, neighbors, family members, and clients have trusted me to care for their pets, provide companionship, maintain routines, and ensure their safety and well-being. I am patient, attentive, and responsible, and I understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. I provide plenty of affection, exercise, playtime, and regular updates with photos. My goal is to give every pet the same care and attention I would give my own family. I recently moved to California and am currently building a new chapter in my life. This transition gives me the flexibility to dedicate more time to caring for pets, something that truly brings me joy. I love spending time with animals, getting to know their unique personalities, and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to adapt to each pet’s routine and needs. I currently provide pet care in my clients’ homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their regular routines. I understand the importance of trust when caring for both pets and someone’s home. I am responsible, respectful, attentive to details, and committed to following each owner’s instructions carefully. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and loving experience for every pet while giving their owners peace of mind.
About: I have a lot of experience pet sitting, I’ve done it for neighbors as a kid and multiple times for extended periods for friends while I was in the Air Force. I have no pets currently but I’ve lived in multiple houses with both cats and dogs and am experienced in caring for both. I’m currently taking a break from school for summer, and am only planning to do self-scheduled work, so until the end of June I can freely plan my schedule around any pet care needs. My main goal would to be to get detailed information prior to the care of your pets’ specific schedule and needs. I’ll follow any specific instructions given to the letter. Otherwise, I’d ensure they get daily walks and activity.
“Graham was fantastic. Very personable, great with our pup, Midna, and he's an excellent communicator. He showed up early to meet us and Midna immediately loved him. We felt very comfortable trusting him with our dog and our home. We will happily use Graham again, and highly recommend him to anyone who wants someone trustworthy and kind to watch their pup. (Thanks Graham!)”

“I’m so thankful that Rebecca did such a great job house sitting. My pup is a little unsure of new people (especially when mom is not around) but he warmed up to Rebecca quickly and was following her around the house in no time. She was very communicative and made sure my dog’s needs were met first before meeting her other work commitments. Lastly (but not least for this homeowner), Rebecca left the house neat and tidy! I could barely tell she’d been there. Thank you, Rebecca!”

About: I’ve grown up around all kinds of animals from dogs, cats, and horses. Family and friends have entrusted me in caring for their animals. It’s always been a great passion of mine to care for pets! As I do have a part-time job I am flexible with schedules in order to care for your furry friends! I want your pets necessities and care to come first as they are important to you as they are to me. I am able to care for your pets in your home to keep them as comfortable as possible. I can provide potty breaks, crate your pets when needed, feed, walk, bathe and play with your pets.
“Krista took such amazing care of our 130 lb dog while we were out of town. She didn’t just “watch” him, she truly loved on him, played with him, and treated him with so much kindness and attention. Coming home to a happy, relaxed, tail-wagging dog says everything about the care he received. She also watered our plants, kept us updated with lots of pictures, and went above and beyond by watercoloring a beautiful portrait of our dog as a parting gift. It was incredibly thoughtful and meaningful. Krista is dependable, caring, communicative, and genuinely wonderful with animals. We would trust her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone special to care for their pets and home.”

About: I've been sitting big breed dogs and have had them since I was a kid. If I could, I would have a dozen of them, but for now, I will babysit your dog. I work from home, and my partner also has a flexible schedule, so they are usually around too, providing your dog with companionship, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Walks, backyard playtime, enrichment, and plenty of snuggles are part of my daily routine. We value kindness, inclusivity, respect, and emotional safety. Our home is a judgment-free zone for people and pets. I have a fenced yard, nothing to jump off, and a friendly rescue yellow Labrador/pittie mix who loves to play with dog visitors. He is also great at reading dog body language and at giving new visitors their space until they are ready to engage. I’m experienced with dogs who have restrictions - physical, food sensitivities or allergies - or just need extra time settling in. As a former volunteer with Southern California Labrador Rescue, I fostered and pulled dogs from shelters. I understand the unique needs — and big hearts — that often come with rescue dogs. I love both in-home boarding and house sitting. Staying in a client’s home gives me a peaceful change of scenery for my writing and allows dogs to stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m available to house sit throughout Southern California. I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday. On weekends, we typically garden, cook, and go for walks or hikes. Snuggles, backyard playtime, and lots of interaction time are a critical part of my day with your dog. I am a homeowner with a fenced yard in a gated neighborhood, a rescue mutt to keep your dog company, and a cat. My teenager is also a dog lover who spoils our Charlie. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the bed. I have dog beds, lots of water bowls, and time for pets. Our dog is a big hunk of love at 116 lbs, and I have always had big dogs. He LOVES having dog friends at the house.
“One of the best sitters in the area! I’m so glad we chose Shane to care for our two dogs when we were on vacation in Europe. He sent us daily updates, left the house clean, and was paying a lot of attention to the details since my dogs require some extra care. Highly recommend!”

“We left our 14 yo velcro dog with Sara for the weekend. He was clearly well loved while we were gone. We got regular updates & photos and he was obviously very happy. Our house was left clean as well. We'd definitely have Sara care for Sunny again. Thank you for making Sunny's weekend and paying the cheese tax multiple times!”

“Kimberly is one of the best dog-sitters we’ve ever had. We have a needy golden retriever and she house-sat for us for four days. She communicated so well, gave our dog tons of attention, followed our requests diligently, and kept our home very clean. Thanks to Kimberly for doing a great job! Highly recommend!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Buckhorn
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 3,195 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Buckhorn. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Buckhorn walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Buckhorn maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Buckhorn choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Buckhorn. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
