About: Prior to using Rover I provided paid pet care on my own to multiple families for 7 years. Most of these pets were high needs (specialized diets & prescribed medication. I as a result I am well versed in a wide spectrum of care. My schedule allows me to provide drop in and short walks to your pups during the day. I'm happy to take them out for a quick break, just let them for a quick break, or whatever suits your needs. I am happy to crate your dog if needed, I'm comfortable walking anxious dogs, and weather permitting I'm happy to take hyper breeds on a long walks to get their energy out.
About: I love animals; always have! I used to come home from school and do homework in front of Animal Planet and when it wasn't doing that I was taking care of my neighbor's pets. They had cats, dogs and horses and I looked forward to it every time. My responsibilities included walking, playing, feeding and even reading to them (which I have on good authority was very adorable). I'm very excited to take care of your fur babies for you now! *Ask me about Active & Running services* **Ask me about Pet Portraiture Add-ons** I am currently taking online classes and looking forward to being with animals when I can part time. I am looking forward to meeting new pets and taking care of them in between bouts of homework and studying. I am available for most services! Including drop-in check-ins, letting dogs out to do their business or go on walks or play with your pets. I'm also available to pet-sit and keep them company while they relax in their space. After meeting your pets and learning their specific and unique needs, likes or dislikes, I am available to feed, walk, play most days.
“Graham was fantastic. Very personable, great with our pup, Midna, and he's an excellent communicator. He showed up early to meet us and Midna immediately loved him. We felt very comfortable trusting him with our dog and our home. We will happily use Graham again, and highly recommend him to anyone who wants someone trustworthy and kind to watch their pup. (Thanks Graham!)”

“Caleb was great! I had to leave early Friday and he was going to be at the house around 2. Since I left at 6 that morning he went ahead and got there a couple hours early to get the dogs out sooner with them being inside for 6+ hours. He kept me updated with messages, photos, and videos throughout his stay. I will definitely be booking with Caleb on my next trip!”

“Cat was wonderful! Our pets loved her from the moment she came for the meet and greet. She took great care of them while we were gone and provided daily updates. Cat is very trustworthy, punctual, and we plan on booking her again for the next time we travel. Highly recommend hiring Cat to take care of your fur babies!”

About: Hi I'm Nita! Over the last 23 years I've had the pleasure of caring for the pets of loved ones, neighbors, and even my own. I'm experienced in short and long term sitting, walking services, medication management and injections, and of course playtime. Your pet's wellbeing is my priority and you can leave them in capable hands and enjoy peace of mind knowing they're receiving the love, attention, and expert care they deserve. Contact me today and ask any questions regarding availability or care for your furry friend.🐾 I'm currently a freelance worker and work mostly remote meaning that I can be available to pet sit or walk with the flexibility that you're seeking. I am extremely respectfully of others' property and dwellings. I want to create a comfortable environment for your fur babies, which is why I prefer to do onsite pet sitting at the clients' homes.
“Kristine did a wonderful job caring for all of our pets! We have two dogs, a cat, and two hens -- and she took wonderful care of them while we were gone. She sent photos and videos every day, and let us know when they were fed. I never worried about them because she kept us updated so well. I will definitely be turning to Kristine to take care of our pets in the near future!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and grew up surrounded by all kinds of pets—fish, birds, cats, and dogs. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and over the years I’ve gained experience with pets of all ages and personalities. I’ve dog‑sat for seniors up to 18 years old and cared for kittens as young as 2 weeks, giving each one the patience, gentleness, and attention they need. I have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule, making it easy for me to accommodate visits, walks, and last‑minute needs. Whether your pet is tiny, energetic, elderly, or somewhere in between, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. My schedule is very flexible—I'm an actor, and most of my work is remote from home. That means I’m able to pop in and out throughout the day for visits, feedings, playtime, or whatever your pet needs. It gives me plenty of freedom to provide consistent, reliable care without long gaps between check‑ins. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and stress‑free as possible. I follow your instructions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, medication needs, playtime preferences, or specific quirks your pet has. I make sure they get plenty of attention, enrichment, and comfort so they feel safe while you’re away. I also keep your home tidy, respect your space, and provide regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Kaitlin was wonderful with Lucky! She is very punctual and responsible, and made sure to listen to Lucky's needs. She took very good care of him, and I was all relaxed when I was out. I will definitely get her again!”

About: I grew up fostering dogs, have experience bottle feeding, and have been passionate about pets for my whole life. I love any dog, no matter what breed, size, or temperament. I’m currently working part-time, so I will have a good amount of flexibility and availability to help you with your pet needs. I will prioritize your pets! I will stick to the rules and boundaries you set in place. Overall, I will be very careful and mindful when working for you. Respect is my biggest priority.

“This is 3rd time we asked Lexy to take care of Zoe and it was a whole week! Zoe got used to her and they definitely bonded more. She sent me many pics and videos to me👍😉 Thank you, Lexy!”

About: I've been sitting big breed dogs and have had them since I was a kid. If I could, I would have a dozen of them, but for now, I will babysit your dog. I work from home, and my partner also has a flexible schedule, so they are usually around too, providing your dog with companionship, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Walks, backyard playtime, enrichment, and plenty of snuggles are part of my daily routine. We value kindness, inclusivity, respect, and emotional safety. Our home is a judgment-free zone for people and pets. I have a fenced yard, nothing to jump off, and a friendly rescue yellow Labrador/pittie mix who loves to play with dog visitors. He is also great at reading dog body language and at giving new visitors their space until they are ready to engage. I’m experienced with dogs who have restrictions - physical, food sensitivities or allergies - or just need extra time settling in. As a former volunteer with Southern California Labrador Rescue, I fostered and pulled dogs from shelters. I understand the unique needs — and big hearts — that often come with rescue dogs. I love both in-home boarding and house sitting. Staying in a client’s home gives me a peaceful change of scenery for my writing and allows dogs to stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m available to house sit throughout Southern California. I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday. On weekends, we typically garden, cook, and go for walks or hikes. Snuggles, backyard playtime, and lots of interaction time are a critical part of my day with your dog. I am a homeowner with a fenced yard in a gated neighborhood, a rescue mutt to keep your dog company, and a cat. My teenager is also a dog lover who spoils our Charlie. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the bed. I have dog beds, lots of water bowls, and time for pets. Our dog is a big hunk of love at 116 lbs, and I have always had big dogs. He LOVES having dog friends at the house.
“Joseph has helped us three times now. He house sits for us and he’s always there when he says he will be there. The dogs love him. I feel a peace of mind when he’s stays with them. He sends pictures and updates.”
“Kimberly did a great job. She had to manage two large dogs over three days. The house and the pups were well cared for. I asked Kimberly to abide by some fairly strict rules with the dogs in order to manage their high-energy and potential anxiety and she did an excellent job. Kimberly have our pups multiple daily walks, administered pet medication, and maintained the security of the house. I strongly recommend Kimberly for your pet/house sitting needs.”

About: I've been caring for my family's, friends', and extended family's pets and homes for the past three years. Growing up with four dogs and now caring for both a dog and a cat has given me experience with pets of different personalities and needs. I understand how important it is to keep pets comfortable by following their regular routines, providing plenty of attention and exercise, and making sure they feel safe while you're away. I'll treat your pets like they're my own and always keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. I'm home from college for the summer, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. Whether your pet needs walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, or overnight care, I'm available throughout the day and week to provide attentive, reliable care. I'll do my best to accommodate your pet's routine and your scheduling needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and routine. I take the time to learn each pet's needs, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions. I make sure pets have fresh water, a clean environment, and plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I also provide regular updates with photos and messages so owners can feel confident and connected while they're away. My goal is to create a calm, loving, and stress-free experience for every pet in my care.
About: I have been an animal/dog lover ever since I was a little girl. My first dog was our families at the age of 12. We all had to chip in on responsibilities and I learned from a very early age what it really means to take care of a dog/puppy. Especially with a demanding breed such as a German Shepard for your first pup! Ever since first taking care of our German Shepard, Rambo, taking care of animals always came easy to me, even the tougher/sassier breeds. Since Rambo, I have my own mini husky and I am my friends and family go to for watching their pets. I am always watching someone's cat or pup and always providing all of the walking, cleaning, playtime, and feeding needs! I have been in the hospitality industry since I was 17 years old and like to think I provide excellent service, excellent care, and really take the time to learn and listen to what people need. I am currently working at home majority of my time now. Anytime I really leave the house is for necessities or to go out to eat! Ever since my little sister started doing pet care on the side herself, I couldn't think of a better way to help keep me company and to help a little financially on the side as well. With my current employment, I am able to give your fur child 24/7 care! I live in a lovely, large apartment with plenty of space to run around and play. The apartment is very safe and your pet is allowed on the furniture or wherever else their heart desires. I will always be present with your fur baby and making sure they are safe and cared for.

Caleb was great! I had to leave early Friday and he was going to be at the house around 2. He kept me updated with messages, photos, and videos throughout his stay. I will definitely be booking with Caleb on my next trip!

Brigette watched our active Aussie overnight at our house for a week. She sent amazing photos (ha she’s really good at taking photos) and even videos and really spent time playing with and getting to know our dog, I could tell by some of the cute things she’s told me in the daily summary she sent! We also had some strawberries and side patio plants that needed watered every day and she even helped with that and we returned to a spotless house (which is hard to do by the amount that our dog sheds)! It’s clear to me that Brigette is very much an animal lover. When we first met her she had a lot of questions and wanted to make sure she kept our dog’s schedule too. We had the best vacation knowing we didn’t have to worry about our baby at home! Thank you Brigette!

Rosemary is truly an exceptional dog sitter. From the start she was kind, considerate and incredibly accommodating, even stepping in on short notice which was such a lifesaver. She has a warm, loving presence and gave my pup so much care and attention. Her great attention to detail and thoughtful communication, with regular updates and adorable pictures, gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned from my weekend trip, my dog was honestly disappointed to see me instead of Rosemary, which says it all. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate and attentive sitter.

Kylie is great! We’ve booked her twice now and she’s been communicative and reliable. We’ve felt very comfortable having her stay in our home while we’re away and our pets are well cared for, as is our home. She’s gone out of her way to help bringing in packages and running the dishwasher before she leaves. She is reliable, considerate, and I highly recommend booking her.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pico
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Pico on Rover is $31.57 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 9,703 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pico. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pico walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pico maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pico choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pico. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
