“Hailey is fantastic! She kept us informed and sent pictures of our fur babies (all 5 of them!) She walked the pups daily, and played with them as well (we saw pictures of this). Best of all, we came home to a clean home and happy animals. I would definitely book Hailey again!”

About: I've had cats and dogs my whole life. I have experience with rescues. I'm an active sitter near hiking trails. Last minute availability is possible. I'm currently working from home part-time making pet care fit easily into my days. If you need daily drop-ins for feeding, walking, running or medications, or ball play, we can set up a custom plan for your fur babies. I treat every pet as if it's my own. If your pet has special needs, we can discuss how best I can make them feel at ease. I'm here to help and open to handling specific needs. I've been there myself with my own babies.
“Crystal was amazing! I highly, highly recommend her! I took a trip out of the country and needed someone to care for my dog and my house. Crystal was simply phenomenal. Her communication was spot on. She was extremely respectful of my pup, my home, and my instructions. She even had a back-up plan in place when an emergency came up. She left my home extremely clean and tidy and made sure my travel plans had not changed or been delayed to ensure my dog was cared for until I returned home. I will definitely ask Crystal back to take care of any of my pet/home needs in the future.”

“Graham was fantastic. Very personable, great with our pup, Midna, and he's an excellent communicator. He showed up early to meet us and Midna immediately loved him. We felt very comfortable trusting him with our dog and our home. We will happily use Graham again, and highly recommend him to anyone who wants someone trustworthy and kind to watch their pup. (Thanks Graham!)”

About: I've been caring for pets for years through my own fur babies (6 year English Bull Dog named Maya and previously a 10 year old boxer named Sugar), as well as helping my friends and family with their fur babies while they're away or helping with walks. I understand how important it is to have someone dependable you can trust to care for pet, and I treat every fur baby with all the love as if they were my own. I'm comfortable and confident with feeding, walks, playtime, administering basic medications if needed, and giving your fur baby plenty of love, attention, and updates while you're away. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, love, happy, and that you have the peace of mind knowing that they're in great hands while you're away. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of times with the pets I'm caring for. While I may occasionally leave for errands or appointments, I have the flexibility to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of love and attention throughout the day. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and any special instructions you might have to help them feel comfortable while you're away. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat both the pets and home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. My goal is to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible and create a calm, safe environment where they can feel secure and happy until your return.

With patience, consistency, and a deep love for dogs, we ensure every walk is not just a routine, but a rewarding experience for your dog! Our schedules are pretty open as we both completed our degrees from Cal State Long Beach. Either one of us will should be available for your requested time! Caring for your dog and providing a safe environment is number our one priority! With a dog of our own, we ensure that she is mentality stimulated and physically challenged all while making the walk an enjoyable activity. We would give your dog the same attention and treatment as we give our own!
About: I love animals; always have! I used to come home from school and do homework in front of Animal Planet and when it wasn't doing that I was taking care of my neighbor's pets. Cats, dogs and horses and I looked forward to it every time. My responsibilities included walking, playing, feeding and even reading to them (which I have on good authority was very adorable). I'm very excited to take care of your fur babies for you! Fear Free Leader in Animal Wellbeing graduate. *Ask me about Active & Running services* **Ask me about Pet Portraiture Add-ons** I am currently taking online classes and looking forward to being with animals when I can part time. I am looking forward to meeting new pets and taking care of them in between bouts of homework and studying. I am available for most services! Including drop-in check-ins, letting dogs out to do their business or go on walks or play with your pets. I'm also available to pet-sit and keep them company while they relax in their space. After meeting your pets and learning their specific and unique needs, likes or dislikes, I am available to feed, walk, play most days.
About: I've been sitting big breed dogs and have had them since I was a kid. If I could, I would have a dozen of them, but for now, I will babysit your dog. I work from home, and my partner also has a flexible schedule, so they are usually around too, providing your dog with companionship, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Walks, backyard playtime, enrichment, and plenty of snuggles are part of my daily routine. We value kindness, inclusivity, respect, and emotional safety. Our home is a judgment-free zone for people and pets. I have a fenced yard, nothing to jump off, and a friendly rescue yellow Labrador/pittie mix who loves to play with dog visitors. He is also great at reading dog body language and at giving new visitors their space until they are ready to engage. I’m experienced with dogs who have restrictions - physical, food sensitivities or allergies - or just need extra time settling in. As a former volunteer with Southern California Labrador Rescue, I fostered and pulled dogs from shelters. I understand the unique needs — and big hearts — that often come with rescue dogs. I love both in-home boarding and house sitting. Staying in a client’s home gives me a peaceful change of scenery for my writing and allows dogs to stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m available to house sit throughout Southern California. I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday. On weekends, we typically garden, cook, and go for walks or hikes. Snuggles, backyard playtime, and lots of interaction time are a critical part of my day with your dog. I am a homeowner with a fenced yard in a gated neighborhood, a rescue mutt to keep your dog company, and a cat. My teenager is also a dog lover who spoils our Charlie. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the bed. I have dog beds, lots of water bowls, and time for pets. Our dog is a big hunk of love at 116 lbs, and I have always had big dogs. He LOVES having dog friends at the house.

I am patient, attentive, and responsible, and I understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. I provide plenty of affection, exercise, playtime, and regular updates with photos. My goal is to give every pet the same care and attention I would give my own family. I recently moved to California and am currently building a new chapter in my life. This transition gives me the flexibility to dedicate more time to caring for pets, something that truly brings me joy. I love spending time with animals, getting to know their unique personalities, and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to adapt to each pet’s routine and needs. I currently provide pet care in my clients’ homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their regular routines. “Joseph stayed at our house for 3 nights. The dogs were well cared for and he sent updates once or twice a day. I was able to enjoy my vacation without stressing about my doggies”
“Fantastic! Def will use again. She worked well with my reactive and anxious pup and slowly got him to trust her. She was able to accommodate us last minute due to another sitter canceling, and was awesome!”

About: I was born and raised from a dog lover household. I can’t remember a singular day we didn’t own a dog in our family. I currently have two dog sons, Oakley and Dez both pitbull mixed but I’ve owned from Rottweilers, yorkies, corgis and labradors! I can walk, feed, cuddle and play however you prefer. I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to care for your pet. Whether you need a mid day stop by or a morning and night walk I can provide you with whatever you and your companion need. I can watch your pooches in the comfortable of their own environment. Or stop by whenever you need. Open to providing whatever you feel most comfortable with.

“Caleb was great! I had to leave early Friday and he was going to be at the house around 2. Since I left at 6 that morning he went ahead and got there a couple hours early to get the dogs out sooner with them being inside for 6+ hours. He kept me updated with messages, photos, and videos throughout his stay. I will definitely be booking with Caleb on my next trip!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Castaic
Trinity came to our home to stay with our Luna girl while we were away for the holiday weekend. She was so compassionate and helpful when our dog became very frantic during several bouts of fireworks. During her stay, she was always very quick to respond to any texts, she kept our home super tidy, and she provided our dog with outstanding care. I would absolutely book with her again!

Danielle was the perfect match for my fur babies. She was calm, quiet, and unfazed, even when my one pup wouldn't stop barking at her. She has lots of experience with giving medications, and had no qualms caring for my dog who has seizures...administering medication 12 hours apart, and being comfortable assisting him if he had one (thankfully he didn't). Danielle had my critters feeling so comfortable that the barker even warmed up to her, and let her love on him, after just one overnight visit (that's saying a lot, since he doesn't warm up to many people). She took photos and shared them with me, and kept me up to date on how the animals were fairing. Not only did Danielle make sure my pets were well cared for, but she took time to care for my home, as well, by fixing a toilet that kept running...now that's great service! If you are looking for someone to house or pet sit, or both, you could not pick anyone better. She will be my go-to house/pet sitter from now on.

As of August 2026, there are 4,664 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Castaic. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Castaic walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Castaic maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Castaic choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Castaic. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
