Kristine did a wonderful job caring for all of our pets! We have two dogs, a cat, and two hens -- and she took wonderful care of them while we were gone. She sent photos and videos every day, and let us know when they were fed. I never worried about them because she kept us updated so well. I will definitely be turning to Kristine to take care of our pets in the near future!

Hailey was a big help to us this week and was able to stay in our home on a short notice. We have two older dogs and a cat. One dog is deaf and requires diapers, and another has just gone blind and Hailey handled these difficulties easily. Having Hailey around was a peace of mind that our pets weren’t lonely while we were gone and looked after. We also have a lot of plants, which Hailey watered and ensured didn’t die! We’ll definitely be rebooking!!

About: i! My name is Angela, and I have had dogs my entire life. Growing up around dogs has given me a deep understanding of their needs, personalities, and the love and attention they deserve. I truly love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether it's going for walks, playing, or simply keeping them company. I recently graduated from college, which means I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of free time to dedicate to caring for your pets. This allows me to provide reliable attention, supervision, and companionship to ensure your dog feels comfortable and cared for while you're away. I understand that pets are family, and I will treat your dog with the same love, kindness, and care that I would give my own. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved at all times. I am responsible, trustworthy, and committed to providing a positive experience for both you and your pet. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! Since I recently graduated from college, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the week. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and providing companionship during both weekdays and weekends. I can easily adjust my schedule to meet your pet's needs and make sure they receive the attention, care, and love they deserve while you are away. The safety and well-being of every pet is my top priority. I have my own dog, who is a beloved member of my family, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. Caring for my own dog has given me experience with daily feeding routines, walks, exercise, playtime, and providing lots of love and attention.

She was incredibly communicative throughout the stay, always keeping me updated and so patient with my pups. My little Lady can be a handful, but she warmed right up to her, which honestly says it all. She was also flexible when we needed her to be, which made the whole experience stress-free. We'll absolutely be booking again — highly recommend!

About: I have always had animals since I was a kid and I have always loved them! I love their unconditional connection with us. I have senior dog care and medication administering experience. I am trying something new in my career path, which will hopefully include your pet. I want to work with animals more and turn it into a career. I can't wait to get my steps in with your pet! I have an open schedule at this time. I'm looking to fill my week with regular walks, visits, and boarding. I have three daughters. My oldest actually works as a pet bather with Petsmart and my two younger daughters love animals as much as I do......I've been told by my oldest that I'm not allowed at the animals shelter anymore. 🤣🤣🤣 I live in a mobile home with a fenced yard. I have four of my own fur babies that are welcoming to new visitors. Depending on weather we may go for walks at the park and visit the dog park or play in the backyard or even the house with toys. But as long as it's not too hot or raining we hit the park and dog park.

About: I have been an animal/dog lover ever since I was a little girl. My first dog was our families at the age of 12. We all had to chip in on responsibilities and I learned from a very early age what it really means to take care of a dog/puppy. Especially with a demanding breed such as a German Shepard for your first pup! Ever since first taking care of our German Shepard, Rambo, taking care of animals always came easy to me, even the tougher/sassier breeds. Since Rambo, I have my own mini husky and I am my friends and family go to for watching their pets. I am always watching someone's cat or pup and always providing all of the walking, cleaning, playtime, and feeding needs! I have been in the hospitality industry since I was 17 years old and like to think I provide excellent service, excellent care, and really take the time to learn and listen to what people need. I am currently working at home majority of my time now. Anytime I really leave the house is for necessities or to go out to eat! Ever since my little sister started doing pet care on the side herself, I couldn't think of a better way to help keep me company and to help a little financially on the side as well. With my current employment, I am able to give your fur child 24/7 care! I live in a lovely, large apartment with plenty of space to run around and play. The apartment is very safe and your pet is allowed on the furniture or wherever else their heart desires. I will always be present with your fur baby and making sure they are safe and cared for.

About: One of my profile photos is my aunts beautiful Rottweiler ... who is sadly no longer with us. She’s had her since she was a puppy and has been with us for 13 years. I got along very well with her and was able to take care of her all times of her life puppy, teenager, adult and senior. I don't have any dogs of my own that's why I would love to take care of your dogs, for as long as I could remember I've always been very fond of dogs and all animals. I love animals of all shapes and sizes and I'm very good with them they seem to like me very much, I love giving them affection and lots of treats and love. However I have experience with much more then dogs, Ive personally cared for many types of animals such as, Cats, Turtles, Rabbits, Hamsters, Fish, Cows, Chickens, and Turkeys. I would love to meet new furry friends and gain more experience with them. I volunteered at the gentle barn for a year and while there I did tasks such as care for the chickens, feed them, get them out of there coops, I worked with turkeys, and cows while there, it was an amazing experience. Anything task that was asked/instructed I gladly did, as it will be with your pet, to ensure the best care :) and I have my very own kitty. currently work part-time, which allows me to have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m able to plan my schedule around my I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'll follow your pet's usual routine, including feeding, fresh water, exercise or playtime, litter box or potty breaks, and any specific care instructions you provide. I understand that every animal has a unique personality, so I adjust my approach to match their comfort level and needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or shy and prefers a calm presence, I'm committed to providing patient, attentive care. I'll also keep your home tidy, make sure your pet's space stays clean, and send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in good hands.

About: I've worked with special needs animals all my life from tri-pawds, deaf, and blind animals to those with dietary restrictions, behavioral issues, anxiety, and sensitivity to stimuli. Currently I am also employed by a farm that has working breads for dogs and barn cats. I work with a changing and flexible schedule and three days off per week, leaving me plenty of time for checking in on your furry friend. My animals have special dietary needs along with special care for allergies and sensitive skin. They receive joint supplements, specially vetted foods, special bathing requirements, and seasonal medications. I'm well versed at the care special needs animals require because of this.

Kimberly did a great job. She had to manage two large dogs over three days. The house and the pups were well cared for. I asked Kimberly to abide by some fairly strict rules with the dogs in order to manage their high-energy and potential anxiety and she did an excellent job. Kimberly have our pups multiple daily walks, administered pet medication, and maintained the security of the house. I strongly recommend Kimberly for your pet/house sitting needs.

Maddie was fantastic! We were gone for a week, and when we got home, the house was almost exactly as we left it. It was clear she took great care of our home. What impressed us even more was our dogs. They were completely relaxed and acting like we had never left, which tells me they were well cared for, comfortable, and got plenty of attention while we were away. I cannot recommend Kaitlin highly enough! From the moment we connected, she was professional, friendly, communicative, and incredibly trustworthy. Leaving your dog and home in the care of someone you don’t know can be nerve wracking, but she exceeded every expectation I had. She kept me updated on Grizzly throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. Not only did she take amazing care of him and follow every instruction perfectly, but she truly went above and beyond in ways I never expected. When I came home, Grizzly was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of person she is and the level of care she provides. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pet and your home with the same care and respect they would their own. Taking a chance on inviting someone I didn’t know into my home could have been stressful, but instead it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. She is reliable, thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets. She was absolutely amazing, and I will be using her again without hesitation!

FAQs for House Sitting - Canyon Country

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Canyon Country on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 10,662 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Canyon Country. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Canyon Country walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Canyon Country maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Canyon Country choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Canyon Country. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
