About: I've been taking care of multiple different kinds of furry 4 legged friends since I was 9 years old. I excel in care for senior dogs, as well as special care for pups and kittens up to 4 weeks old! My services include routine check-ins, walks, overnight stays with your fur baby, administering medication both oral and topical in addition to pre-scheduled vet visits for any older pups, and bottle feeding, scheduled naps/play times, and triggering for younger dogs and cats. I'm currently unemployed and attending Pierce College, so my hours are slightly limited but flexible enough to move things around if need be. I have classes on Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and take my mother to her appointments on Wednesdays. I can do check-ins on Tuesdays and Thursday-Sundays, day sitting on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and overnight stays Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Contact me for specific times and extended stays! Unfortunately I live in an apartment at the moment, with a limit on the amount of pets allowed in one living space. Any services I provide will have to take place in or around the client's domicile.

Alondra took a good care of my dog for 3 days that I was out of town. It was my first time leaving my dog with someone other than family and she loved Alondra . To me it was very important that my dog feels safe and not anxious when I’m out for few days and I’m glad I found Alondra that could stay with TaTa at my place so TaTa felt so relaxed. 🐶🙏🏻😍

Amanda is hands down the best dog-sitter I've had in a decade! When I came home from a 6-day trip, Poe (my dog) was calm and happy and clearly well cared for. Amanda sent photos and updates several times a day. She went above and beyond to make sure that my nervous dog had loving company. I highly recommend Amanda -- she's caring, competent, reliable, and took care of my dog as if she were her own dog. Thanks, Amanda!

She also watched over our bearded dragon and three leopard geckos, making sure their lights were on and off when they were supposed to be and their water topped up. I would have her in our home again! I felt very safe with her care and attention to all. Thank you, Sanaz!

We had a great experience with Geena. She took excellent care of both of our Labradors, Pilón and Clark. Clark is a young, energetic puppy with plenty of antics, and she handled him very well. It was clear that she knew how to work with dogs and how to manage his energy and enthusiasm appropriately. She also did a great job with Pilón, making sure both dogs were well looked after and had plenty of playtime and interaction. We felt confident leaving them in her care and appreciated her professionalism and experience. We would happily trust her with our dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and reliable pet sitter.

Anna is wonderful. Our very shy dog actually cuddled up to her within a few days - that’s a first! And when another fog injured himself she rushed him to the vet. It was very minor, but we are grateful she took the precaution. All is well with him, and I think our house may be cleaner than we left it! She sent us lots of updates, it was always clear the dogs were comfortable with her and felt safe.

Bruna was absolutely amazing with my cat Carl and French Bulldog Daisy. I needed a sitter with less than 24 hours’ notice over the Fourth of July holiday, and she stepped in without hesitation. At the time, Daisy had just undergone surgery and required constant supervision along with medication administration. B handled everything flawlessly and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. She sent frequent updates, photos, and messages, which meant so much given Daisy’s condition. Most importantly, it was obvious that both Carl and Daisy adored her. You can tell when someone genuinely loves animals, and they were comfortable, happy, and well cared for in her hands. I would not hesitate to book Bruna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and attentive pet sitter.

My partner and I loved having Lexy over to house sit for our two cats for the first time! She was so communicative, providing us frequent text updates and pictures of the cats while we were away for the weekend that really set our minds at ease. She was very attentive in the way she monitored the cats’ behavior and eating patterns. This is certainly not the first time we’ll have her over to watch the cats while we’re away.

I appreciated Emily’s observational skills and calm response to my dog being sick while I was gone. She took good care of her and used good common sense in caring for our dog. Our dog was happy and seemed fully recovered when we returned home. The house was clean and she went beyond to make sure everything was back to normal when we returned. Thank you.

another amazing house sit from Van! went away from two weeks over seas and had so much peace of mind with Van watching over my two cats again. i even re-arranged my trip dates to make sure she was available. as always, she took amazing care of my boys and house; checking on cars, grabbing mail, cleaning before i got back. she goes above and beyond 💖

Bouvier was above and beyond communicative and caring of our 2 senior Golden Retrievers, one with medical needs and the other that developed a medical need while we were gone. We felt in the loop the entire time although we were a Continent away. She took over sitting in between another sitter’s stay and was more than willing to communicate personally with her about the status of the pups. We are grateful to Bouvier and look forward to having her our pups in the future.

Lexy was awesome! We were very nervous leaving our crew of 4 pups 2 cats and 1 lizard while went on vacation for a week. She had no problem dealing with the shenanigans of our 1 year old pup while bonding with our other middle aged and senior dogs. She followed all of our instructions to a t and sent plenty of sweet updates and photos. It felt like she really bonded with everyone and seamlessly jumped into their routine. She asked questions whenever she wasn't sure about something to make sure she got it done right. She happily brought in all of our packages and mail and left the house in great condition. We feel so lucky to have finally found someone we can trust with our squad. Definitely would recommend!

I highly recommend Luke to take care of your furry family. Our dog is wary of strange men at the outset but she warmed up to Luke very quickly. This was our first vacation away from her since we rescued her so we weren't sure how she'd handle the change in caretakers but she did better than I expected. Luke was responsive and sent daily pics and updates. He was also great at watching our house for us while we were out of town. Thanks Luke!

Absolutely outstanding care of my young rescue. Jasmine took the time to come to my home before the actual sitting date to ensure it would be easier on my dog when staying with a new person. Jasmine stayed for close to an hour until my dog calmed down and engaged in play with her. She brought her own treats. My dog adores her and I will definitely request Jasmine in the future.

I was very happy with Christina who took care of my elderly dog, Milo. She was pro active when it looked like he might need a vet visit and kept me informed. When I returned home, she had taken out the trash and made sure Milo's dishes were clean. That was greatly appreciated. i would highly recommend her and would use her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Deer Lake Highlands

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Deer Lake Highlands on Rover is $59.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 11,439 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Deer Lake Highlands. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deer Lake Highlands walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deer Lake Highlands maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deer Lake Highlands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deer Lake Highlands. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
