“We had a great experience with Armando taking care of Bolt over the long weekend! From the very beginning, he was caring, attentive, and made sure Bolt was comfortable and well taken care of. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Bolt seemed very happy and comfortable when we picked him up, and it was clear that he received lots of love and attention. We really appreciate the care and effort he put into looking after him. We would definitely trust Armando with Bolt again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

“Zues loved his time with Carter. He was treated so well, my mom was afraid he would not want to go home with her. The smile on his face said it all. Cater played with him, sent us pictures. Some great actions shots. Our Zues is very active and loves the attention. Thank you Carter for an amazing week with Zues.”

“Thank you Melissa for taking a good care of our dog. She was communicative, responsive, and kept us updated with our dog’s status. I highly recommend her if your fur babies need a vacay away from home.”

“As usual, Ollie thoroughly enjoyed his visit with Cedric and his family. Also, Cedric was super flexible when I changed both the drop off and pick up times last minute.”

“Kelsey was awesome! Fast response and very thorough in details. Pictures and reports were updated daily and our furry baby really loved her. Will definitely call this Rocco’s second home!”

“Ivy was amazing with Boomer. We had a last minute change in the schedule and she accommodated us right away, made special arrangements to have Boomer dropped off so we can make our flight. She sent us lots and lots of pictures and videos of Boomer all the time, and they always put a smile on the kids’ faces! We will most definitely use Ivy again, and refer her to all of our family and friends!”

“From the moment we saw Tania, I was nervous that Micky wouldn't want to come back home. He adored her, and she made him comfortable. I was scheduled for surgery, so I wasn't sure how long the stay would be. Tania left the time open which was less stressful for me. Tania stayed in touch with us the entire time. I would absolutely request her again.”

About: What sets me apart is that I treat every pet like family. My home is already pet-friendly, and I have hands-on experience caring for my own dogs, as well as watching pets for friends and family. I understand that every dog has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and temperaments. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime in the yard, or simply relaxing indoors, I adapt to their needs. I’m also experienced with administering basic medications, following special feeding instructions, and providing updates with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind during your trip. Safety, reliability, and communication are my top priorities. My goal is to provide a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners, making your dog’s stay feel like a home away from home. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work remotely and am home throughout the day. I care for my own dogs and cat, so feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and attention are already built into my schedule. Being home allows me to provide consistent supervision, stick to your pet’s routine, and give them plenty of companionship and care while you’re away. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. Because I work remotely, I’m home throughout the day and can provide regular supervision, potty breaks, feeding, exercise, and companionship. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special care instructions. My home has a large, fully fenced yard that gives dogs plenty of space to safely explore, play, and burn off energy. Inside, pets have a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment where they’ll receive lots of attention and care. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and treated like part of the family.
“Hasmik is wonderful, she sends me photos everyday to ensure that my dog is happy and exercising. I can tell her and her family loves my dog. I’ve had her dog sit multiple times and trust her.”

“Hayley and Arthur are incredible. I am incredibly precious when it comes to who I’d leave my dogs with. Our first stay with them, they were quick and easy to coordinate with. Now, after a much longer extended second stay, I continue to feel confident leaving my babies with them! They seem to really care for animals and understand that they are more than just pets to us - treating them with care and thoughtfulness. Pains me to share how much I love them (because I want them available for me always) but they warrant the good review!”

“Louella took such great care of my Rockie! She sent the cutest pictures and videos throughout her stay, which really put me at ease while I was traveling. It was clear she was happy and well cared for the entire time. Louella even gave her a little gift, which was so thoughtful! I’ll definitely be booking again 🐾💛”

“Wolfie enjoyed his stay with Natasha. I was sure that he had plenty of fun and excercise during his stay because when we brought him back home he was suuuper sleepy!”

“Evelyn was able to take Bean for the weekend at the last minute. I felt good knowing she was at someone's home and not at a kennel. Evelyn took picures and sent them to me and kept me updated. Just knowing what great care Evelyn was taking of Bean gives me peace of mind that we can go out of town worry free. When we picked up Bean, Evelyn had her ready and took her potty right before. Her consideration on every matter was spot on! In short, Evelyn's the best! ”

“We had a wedding to attend and our dog sitter had to cancel last minute. My colleague recommended rover to me, and though it was hard to trust anybody other then family we decided to go with Walley and Ann based on amazing reviews. I have to say i was constantly worried but the assurance and communication through our time away from our little frenchie (thats only a year and a half), was given on both ends and they really held up on their part on everything they said. Me and my boyfriend are BEYOND grateful and thankful to have met and came across them both. I would have them both watch my son again and would recommend them for sure. Thank you again Ann and Walley!”

“Thank you Annabelle, Ben (and Ranger too) for taking wonderful care of my dog Luna. We will definetly use them again and recommend their service to family and friends. They are patient and kind and opened their home to our rambunctious dog. The photos of her playing, going for walks and "chillin" helped this fur mommy know she was happy and being well cared for.”

“Jolie was wonderful and amazing! She definitely put me at ease by sending me daily videos and pictures of my little mochi girl. My husband and I have never left our dog with sitter before so I was a little nervous at first but she made me feel at ease. My dog looked like she had the best time!! I would definitely hire her again and use her services! 5/5 stars!!!!”

“it was an absolute pleasure, leaving our dog with Nicola!!! He was incredibly responsible and caring. The entire time we felt comfortable and were at ease with our dog being looked after. We can’t wait till the next time we need a sitter, and we will call Nicola immediately. Literally he is the best we’ve ever used on Rover”

“Renata is the best. She genuinely loves dogs and she has taken such good care of our dog several times who has separation anxiety. She has been an excellent sitter, definitely recommend her to all dog parents!”

So grateful to have found Susan to watch our senior Chihuahua! Susan gave us complete peace of mind during our vacation, sending periodic updates that were thoughtful and included photos. From the meet and greet, we knew that it would be a great fit. From the fully fenced in back yard and side entrance to the calm energy throughout the home, Susan provides a secure and loving environment that is a home away from home. The other dogs under Susan's care were balanced, calm, and playful. Overall, it is a happy and loving atmosphere. Our chihuahua requires a gentler environment, but still needs interaction and support. Susan offered all this and more. We are so grateful and thankful. Our lil' pup left the stay happy, rested, and in great spirits.

Maryam is so kind and caring! I would recommend her 100%. She goes the extra mile to ensure your babies are cared for. My dog is anxious and I am generally worried leaving him behind with anyone, this was the first time he was happy and not too stressed. She kept me updated which was highly appreciated:) I would definitely book again!
Lucas and Martina took amazing care of our dog Mocha. We found out the night before our trip that mocha's paw was hurt and needed medication, and they still took him in and took great care of him and sent pictures and updates! Mocha gets stressed and doesn't eat at the dogsitter's but Martina was able to feed him:) I will absolutely book them again next time we need a dogsitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Deer Lake Highlands home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Deer Lake Highlands.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Deer Lake Highlands sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
