Crazy about Dogs!
About me and my dog. I have a new dog in my life; his name is Sebastian. (He was a former client's dog who needed to be re-homed.) He is the perfect little "business partner" welcoming all of his doggy friends into our home everyday. I have worked for two vets in the past and enjoy all dogs. The best part of my day is taking dogs for a daily walk in our quiet neighborhood. Being a dog sitter is my primary responsibility and joy. I am home almost 100% of the time, and my adult daughter and my friend and roommate live with me as well. We are all dog lovers, so your dogs will never feel bored or lonely! Why I love dog sitting I have always adored dogs, and my family has always had one in the home. When I was starting college I wanted to become a vet and worked for two vets to gain experience. My family has raised one guide dog for the blind--completing all the basic obedience training. I have been a dog sitter for over 12 years with Rover. My home: I have a three bedroom home in Chatsworth where we have lived for 38 years. There is a nice shady backyard with grass that is completely fenced. I have put in new fencing and have many gates for safety and security. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walks. About my yard Our backyard is fenced and is on an average size lot. We have two gliders (comfortable swings), so that we can hang out in our backyard with the dogs a good bit. I like to have the dogs spend much of their day outside with me for sun, exercise and playtime. The pups are NOT left outside, but enjoy the outdoors while I am meditating, gardening or reading outside with them. The dogs, of course, sleep in the house with me. My experience administering medication: Yes, I am very comfortable giving medications, both oral and injections. In the past years I have cared for diabetic dogs, senior dogs, and currently care for a partially paralyzed dog.

So happy to rely on Susan.

Susan was so sweet and very patient. We used her on a road teip and times were changing and she accomodated. She went to lots of trouble to make Mylo's homemade food. We will use her again in the future if we do this same road trip!

Susan was absolutely wonderful with Louie! From the moment we met her, we knew he was in great hands. She welcomed him into her home, kept us updated, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. When we picked Louie up, he was happy, relaxed, and honestly seemed so comfortable that he barely cared we had arrived—which says everything about how well he was treated! 😊 Susan told us he was affectionate, kind, and such a good boy, and even said he’s more than welcome to come back anytime. That meant so much to us. We’re so grateful for the love and care she gave Louie, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.

Susan was very accommodating and gentle to my dogs. I needed to find a daycare last minute and Susan was very easy to work with and very communicative. She also sent me updates and was being very understanding with me needing to pick my dogs up later than planned. Thank you Susan for your hospitality and for taking care of Truffles & Oreo :)

Susan is great! Her home is a wonderful environment and she takes such good care of my baby!

As always, Susan is great! My dog was well taken care of - highly recommend Susan!!

Schedule
I have been a full-time Rover sitter and dog-walker since 2014. For me it is dogs all day, every day--except for the occasional days off.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fully (brand new) fenced backyard. When the dogs are outside, I am outside with them. Fortunately there is lots of shade, and I offer water play when the weather heats up. I have a nice, quiet neighborhood, so we take lots of walks through out the day--weather permitting.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We have a beautiful neighborhood in Chatsworth. We actually bought our house because we fell in love with the neighborhood. We are close to a park and horse trails. Your dog's sleeping arrangement The dogs can sleep in various locations--wherever they feel the most comfortable. I am also accustomed to crate-trained dogs, if they are used to sleeping in their crate. I have three crates here, or you are welcome to bring your own dog's bed or crate. We can discuss this during the Meet and Greet. Time I'll spend with your dog Depends on the day and the weather, but I try to walk the dogs everyday. Also lots of play and cuddle time throughout the day. I do provide water play for dogs that enjoy water and lots of ball-throwing, etc for the toy motivated pups.

- I usually like to have a nice Meet and Greet with you and your pet in my backyard before booking our first stay. I want to make sure everyone is comfortable with each other. Safety, good communication and fun are my primary goals. Generally, I like to walk the dogs early on in the first stay. By walking together with a calm, gentle dog, the new dog will start to bond with the "pack." I always introduce a new dog slowly and safely with the other dogs who are staying with me. I have a series of gates to keep dogs separated, if they need some quiet time. Usually each family knows their dog's personality and can share what works for each dog.
