“This was our first time having a stranger house sit for us and we were super nervous, but upon meeting Ellie we knew our pups were going to be in great hands! We were gone for about 3 days and Ellie sent us pictures and updates of the pups everyday. When we got back home we were so happy to see how well the pups and the house were taken care of. We are super happy with Ellie and will definitely be asking for her help in the future! Thank you Ellie!”

“Isela was wonderful! You can tell right away that she has a perfect personality for animals. She made our dog so comfortable while we were away and provided us updates all throughout the day. We would absolutely recommend Isela for any dog sitting needs!”

“Jeffrey was amazing! He kept us posted constantly while we were out of town. It helped us give us a peace of mind and we will definitely be booking him again in the near future.”

“Zachary was amazing! He stayed with our animals for 3 nights and they absolutely loved him. He took amazing care and followed all instructions. Will absolutely be booking with him again in the future.”

About: I’ve always had at least two dogs in the house, and have always loved caring for cats! I have plenty of experience taking care of horses and chickens, and I’m no stranger to taking care of many pets at one time, for example, 3 large dogs, 3 cats and 3 horses at the same time! I have a super open availability this summer, with more than enough time for late nights, early mornings, and overnight work! I have reliable transportation and a super free schedule to care for furry friends! I live in a condo with two elderly chihuahuas (almost 15 years old!) named Glory and Hero, as well as a super loving mutt rescue named Mysti! I love going for long walks with Mysti, and taking my chihuahuas for nice short walks as they get older. Making sure Mysti gets the proper exercise and attention is super important as she is a medium sized dog in a condo, as well as accommodating my older dogs as they age.

About: I’m twenty years old and have been taking care of my cat ever since I was ten. When my sister who is ten years older than me moved out she got two dogs and a cat, who I would care for regularly while she went out. The past two years I have been nannying for a family with two kids and four dogs, I would sometimes care for the dogs, walk them and feed them multiple times a day if the family needed to leave somewhere. I recently moved away from the area that was close to them so I am now looking for a new source of income as it is pretty difficult to find families to nanny for. If you would like to talk to her I can provide her phone number. I love animals so much and if you let me take care of them I will always make sure they don’t just eat and go on walks, but also are played with and entertained. :) I currently don’t have a job since we just moved so I am free every day except Sunday where I run all my errands and meal prep. I will update my info if I find a part time job. I have a cat at home and live with my mother, she would never allow another animal in the home sadly, but in your home I can stay with your animals and feed them, walk them, scoop litter, and of course keep them running around and playing.

About: **PET CARE EXPERIENCE: Hi there! :) Are you looking for a vacation for your pup with a sweet gentle giant pupper to keep your dog company, a stress-free environment that is cage free, cozy, able to roam in a doggie paradise full of 100 dog toys, lay on plenty of comfy spots, have doggie movie fun time, a yard to run around, fun lake and trail adventures, and get all the love and attention they need? Then look no further. :) I speak Spanish and English. I am LLC licensed and insured pet sitter that does both overnight stays and daycare. Me & my boyfriend Ryan own a beautiful home with a nice big Fenced yard in Lake Villa, IL. I have 20+ years experience and specialize with dogs, cats, reptiles, dog training and animal behavior expertise (aggression, shy, nervous, anxious behaviors etc..), worked as an animal care specialist at an animal shelter, vet assistant at a vet clinic, manager & lead dog handler at daycare/boarding facilties, head dog walker and ambassador. I'm experienced with all breeds, all sizes, all temperaments. I am a positive reinforcement force-free reward based trainer that enjoys boarding, playing, and walking dogs. I do not use nor recommend the use of bark collars, choke chains, nor prong collars. I do not use fear, force, pain nor intimidation either. I use love and respect and guide every dog in a gentle manner and encourage and reward the good desire behaviors with lots of praise and affection. If they love something extra special I will use that as rewards. I will provide the best care and love for your dog and they will come back home happy. (P.s- they might not want to come back home from all the fun they had haha.) I do have one dog at home and other clients dogs as well so your dog must be okay with other dogs for boarding and must be okay and well socialized with people as well since your dog will be under my care. I do sometimes have timid dog's As long as they are not a risk liability to any other dogs or people then I'm okay in having them over. I make sure all dogs in my care will be safe with other dog's and other people before I accept them. My dog is super sweet and well behaved and loves dogs, people, cats, kids, everything! she is a spayed female 7 year old rescue cane corso (italian mastiff) I work with your budget if need be and I also have reference of past clients upon request. :) **SCHEDULE: I'm a full time dog sitter for boarding and daycare at my home. I am always home to care and spend time with the fur-babies. Every dog goes out at least 3 times a day. *Morning outside time between 6a.m-7a.m and then breakfast right after. *Afternoon outside time between 12-2p.m *Dinner between by 4-6 pm *Last evening outside time by 8-10 pm Special arrangements can be done depending on age and needs and I can also do every 2-4 hours potty breaks just let me know and I can work on a special schedule for your pup. :) I take into consideration age, breed, and how the weather is and keep them safe from too much cold exposure or severe heat exposure. Potty breaks will be brief for severe weather purposes. GROOMING: Per request before you book your stay: I can give your doggie a bath during their stay with me for an additional fee (not a separate services) they must be already staying with me if he/she is okay in being handled safely and no allergies or issues with shampoos. Also they will only be toweled dried as I do not have a blow dryer or any grooming tools. I have basic brushes and scented shampoos/waterless shampoo sprays I do after their bath and are let air dry so they will be a little damp. But wanted to make sure they don't go home stinky for long stays. I spritz them up with a nice scenting doggie perfume after their visit. :) **SAFETY, TRUST, & ENVIRONMENT: My dog offers company and your pups hanging with me is more of a vacation. A home based boarding/daycare place is less stressful than a facility where it is loud and scary and dogs fall very ill from stress and can display behavioral issues from high anxiety. Such as a home setting is more in what dogs are used to and have a place to lounge, relax, play, and will be calm and quiet enjoying their time away from home. I'm aware that accidents can happen especially new dogs and I'm prepared to arrange a better potty and walk schedule for them as they adjust. I do have other clients dog's here at times but I know pretty much everyone under my care and I am very experienced in matching the right fit dog's. Each dog gets an assessment and temp test at our meet and greet before I confirm. They can't show any aggression towards me, my boyfriend, nor my dog or during their stay. Some dogs may need more space and time to adjust and I have a separate free roaming room and baby gated area if need be to keep everyone safe and separated especially when I'm taking them for walks in pairs but I rarely had to do any of that as they all learn to be good pals and coexist peacefully as you can see on my pictures. :) if for any reason your dog isn't adjusting well and is a risk to any other dogs or people I'll let you know and we can discuss options. Behaviors don't always show up right away until they are settled in and comfortable to show their true personalities. There is no reason to worry about early pick up if the stay isn't working out as I am experienced enough to keep them seperated and safe but most likely they will not be a good fit for future stays due to safety reasons. I have cozy crates as well and my cozy room if any dog needs a break from doggies or if they are too overwhelmed they have a safe spot to relax if they want to. I make sure their experience is pleasant and enjoyable and fun! Some take a little too warm up especially if they are not used to being away from owners. They get extra extra attention, love, and reassurance. It doesn't take long for them to realize "wow! This is fun and relaxing" I do send tons of cute pics/video updates as I always want you to feel at ease and know your dog is in safe hands and having such a good time. I keep all room doors closed including the bathroom and I have the baby gates blocking the main kitchen area. All they have access is the whole living room and my room. I have water bowls out that I change multiple times throughout the day and everyone is fed separated never together for safety. All of my bowls, toys, beds, bedding gets sanitized and washed after each new dog visit. My whole home is doggie/puppy proof as well and I have big dog couch that at some point ends up being a pile of pups all napping with each other lol.
About: I think about my service as to satisfy my clients peace of mind, but also to give the animal I’m caring for nothing short of a fun experience! I want every animal I meet to associate me with fun and excitement I’ve always managed pet care into my daily life, whether it was for others or my own pets! Pet care is a responsibility that I’ve grown up with and have had my entire life, and I wouldn’t let a single thing stop me from making sure animals are cared for the way the need to be. Each animal has its own specific need. That is something that I will talk with the client about, but it’s also something I’ve very observant at. Some would like to just play, others may like to sit with you and enjoy your company. And maybe it’s a mixture of both, or something completely different. I see it as making sure each animal gets what they want so they can live an amazing life that they deserve.
About: I’ve grown up around all kinds of animals from dogs, cats, and horses. Family and friends have entrusted me in caring for their animals. It’s always been a great passion of mine to care for pets! As I do have a part-time job I am flexible with schedules in order to care for your furry friends! I want your pets necessities and care to come first as they are important to you as they are to me. I am able to care for your pets in your home to keep them as comfortable as possible. I can provide potty breaks, crate your pets when needed, feed, walk, bathe and play with your pets.
About: With lifelong experience caring for dogs, horses, and cats, I'm an animal lover and horse whisperer. I train my pets, provide energy healing, and enjoy daily walks. Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, as I work from home and have the flexibility to design my own schedule. As an energy healing practitioner, I prioritize mindfulness and balance, which extends to my pets. I incorporate playtime, walks, and training when needed into my day, ensuring they receive ample exercise and mental stimulation. During breaks from my meditation and yoga sessions, I find joy in spending quality time with my pets, fostering a nurturing environment. Their companionship enhances my work-life balance, and I often use sound healing techniques to create a calming atmosphere for both myself and my furry friends. Caring for pets in my home is a thoughtful process. I have a fenced yard where your dog can play safely alongside my sweet 15 year old boxer, who loves companionship. I welcome only dogs that are friendly with cats, as my 4 year old indoor cat enjoys their company. I feed all dogs outside, right in front of my kitchen, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment. Cats are fed separately in the kitchen, with their food placed on furniture to keep is safe from curious dogs. For hydration, I have a water fountain for the cats and a water dispenser for the dogs, both inside and outside for the dogs. When needed, I can easily crate your dog at night; my boxer is crate trained but prefers to sleep freely now. I require that you bring your dog and cat with their own bed, food, and treats, ensuring they feel comfortable. Additionally, It's essential that all pets have a collar with a tag and a leash for safety. This structured approach helps create a harmonious atmosphere for all furry friends in my care.
“Yana was amazing!! She watched our dog for 5 days in our home and did an amazing job caring for her. I think our dog may be sad to have us home and missing Yana! She sent lots of really cute pictures and videos too! We will be repeat customers for sure!!”

“Jacqui was absolutely terrific taking care of my two 13 year old Springer Spaniels while I visited my son in Ohio for a week. She loves dogs and gave them plenty of love and attention. The hardest part of her duties was giving them all of their daily medicines which she did even learning to give Tia her twice daily shots of insulin. I highly recommend Jacqui!”

“Madelyn is now our 4-mo-old puppy's favorite person! She gave up her Thanksgiving to stay with Ziggy at our house, but it wasn't just a "stay." Madelyn played with her and give her so much love and attention. It was just what Ziggy needed and we were so happy to trust her with our puppy! We're also very happy that Madelyn will be coming back to stay with Ziggy again in a couple of weeks. Thank you, Madelyn!”

“Lexy is an excellent and dependable dog-sitter! I’m certainly booking her again next time. She gives regular and detailed updates with many photos. My dog is about 80 lbs and causes lots of mischief, and she handled everything with ease. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brandeis
Ellie was absolutely wonderful with our dogs. From the moment we met her, she was calm, professional, kind, and incredibly easy to communicate with. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such capable and caring hands. She kept us updated, treated our dogs with genuine care, and it was clear they were comfortable and well looked after while we were away. We came home to happy, relaxed pups, which says everything. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would recommend Ellie without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate dog sitter. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!

This was our first time using Daniella and we couldn’t be more happy. She checked in with us on a daily basis with photos and text messages which made us feel good about the care Charlie was getting. We will differently be using Daniella again. Highly recommend.

Kelsey was absolutely amazing house sitting our dog Bleu over the Holidays! We were so happy with the care he received. She is so kind, reliable, and treated him just like family! We were provided with updates and photos multiple times a day. We will 100% be booking her again when traveling in the future. She made us feel extremely comfortable in leaving our boy for a week and provided amazing care. Bleu absolutely adores her and so do we!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Brandeis on Rover is $76.59 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 10,655 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brandeis. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brandeis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brandeis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brandeis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brandeis. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
