About: With three years of experience in the veterinary field and starting at the age of 18 , I have successfully advanced from kennel assistant to receptionist and now to veterinary assistant. Having grown up caring for a wide variety of animals, dogs, cats, fishes, hamsters I have developed a lifelong passion for animal care. I am dedicated to making every animal feel safe in my care and building strong, trusting relationships with owners. I work 10-hour shifts four days a week from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I am only available Sunday through Tuesday. However, I can accommodate requests outside of these days after my shift ends If available To ensure I provide the best care for your pet while you are away, I ask for pet parents to write down or print out an instruction sheet for me including details like: - Pet Care & Activities: Any specific routines or activities you would like me to do with their pet. - Medication (if applicable): The exact name, dosage, and schedule. - House Duties: Tasks like taking out the trash or picking up after your pet in the yard.
“We are so happy we found Jeff- highly recommend! He watched our big boy German Shepherd and our older Pittie. He gave them plenty of time at home, watched the house, and took care of medications and feeding regimens perfectly. A+++!”

“We left our 14 yo velcro dog with Sara for the weekend. He was clearly well loved while we were gone. We got regular updates & photos and he was obviously very happy. Our house was left clean as well. We'd definitely have Sara care for Sunny again. Thank you for making Sunny's weekend and paying the cheese tax multiple times!”

About: I have had around thirteen years of cat care experience, having owned four cats, a tarantula, and a snake throughout my entire life, and currently volunteer at an animal shelter. I have had a lot of opportunities to learn how to take care of cats and their body languages, so I am very experienced with knowing when to back off or if a cat wants love or pets; I also know what to look out for to prevent cat fights from happening or how to break one up. Although most of my experience is in cats, I am always open to learning new things or how to take care of dogs, and I am always willing to walk your dog or house sit for them because I am someone who loves animals and will never shy away from a chance to meet them! I am still a student right now, so I am only free in the afternoons and evenings during the weekdays, but I am totally free on weekends (minus 2-5 PM on Saturdays where I volunteer). I am also looking to get a part time job so my schedule might shift around. I will happily send you pictures or video updates of your puppies or kittens, and I am also extremely willing to play with them using their favorite toys, and I don’t mind spending extra time for snuggling sessions while I’m there! ❤️ My house is usually very quiet save for the occasional cara passing by, and the cats are allowed to wander about and do whatever they want. I will also never try to force an interaction with a cat if the cat does not want it. I brush and groom my cats if the opportunity comes up, and is open to snuggling with a cat anytime 🥰

“Alexandra is great, she sends plenty of photos and excellent response time when messaging. It’s her second time staying at my home with my Cosmo and she always leaves my home tidy. My shih tzu seems to like her and finally warmed up.”

About: I’ve always loved dogs and have cared for dogs of all sizes. At 5 years old I got a puppy, who is now a medium sized pitbull-corgi-smorgasbord mix of breeds. While of course having help at a young age, I have cared for, fed, walked, and played with him for the majority of my life. Additionally my father had two small dogs and one larger that I partially cared for and walked. I’ve cared for multiple of my friends dogs, and over one summer went to Arizona to take care of my mothers friends two larger dogs for a couple weeks, and loved spending time with and caring for/playing with them! So I can say for certain between that fact and my very flexible schedule I would not mind longer term stays to take care of your pet/regular check ins! I also love going for walks, so I would love to walk any dog even energetic ones that want to go for long walks or run a little! I currently do not have a solid job, as I just graduated high school so my schedule is extremely flexible, and I am available to show up last minute in most cases! I can not have dogs nor cats in my own home to not risk the safety of my own pets, however I am ok with staying in/checking on your pets in your home! I’d love to send frequent photos of your pets, so definitely tell me if it’s not something you want! I want you to be assured your dogs/cats are being loved and cared for
About: I treat every dog like my own. Having had two dogs and growing up with dogs, I understand how important it is for them to feel secure and cared for. I’m patient with shy or anxious dogs and love keeping up with playful, high-energy pups too. I’m comfortable following routines, reinforcing training, and giving extra attention when needed. You’ll get consistent updates so you always know your dog is happy and in good hands. I work full time. So my availability varies but I am open to working things out! I have some flexibility and can also be available before and after work My approach to house sitting is all about consistency, attention, and trust. I maintain your pet’s normal routine to reduce stress and keep them comfortable in their familiar space. With hands-on experience from owning two pets and a lifetime around animals, I’m confident managing a wide range of personalities and needs. I stay attentive to behavior, provide regular engagement and care, and ensure your home stays clean and secure. Clear communication and daily updates are always part of my service.

About: I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember and grew up always having them as part of my family. My current dog is 11 years old, and I’ve cared for her ever since she was just 4 months old. Four years later, I welcomed another dog into my life, which taught me even more about balancing different personalities, energy levels, and needs. Overall, I have a lot of experience caring for both dogs and cats, and animals have always naturally gravitated towards me. I treat every pet as if they were my own, and will make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I am currently a graduate student in clinical rotations, which currently allows me to offer check ins and walks in the early mornings and afternoons. I am available for boarding on weekends, and can provide attentive, consistent care during those times. When caring for pets in their own home, I will prioritize safety, trust, and maintaining their normal routine. I will carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walking, medications, and house routes. My goal is to create a safe, calm, and comfortable environment so your pet feels comfortable and stress-free while you’re away.
“Marty was amazing! She took care of our pets and home like they were her own! She was great with communication always keeping in touch and sending updates! Would highly recommend Marty if you don’t want to have any second guessed while you are gone as she holds it down! We have 3 dogs - 9 month old puppy, an 8 year old frenchie and a 15 year old Pomeranian! Each dog has specific needs from play time to medication and she takes care of it all with absolutely no problem! Thank you again Marty!”

About: I don’t just stop by for 5 minutes and leave i genuinely want to get to know them and I will cuddle with them and hang out for a while. I can usually be with the dog as much as you need. I am on summer so I have lots of free time now . I usually will be with them inside the house and in the backyard which is usually fenced up and we play fetch and hang out wherever they want to be
“This is our second time using Mireya and hopefully many more to come. We loved having her. I feel so and easy when I have go out of town knowing my fur babies are safe and well cared for. We would highly recommend ☺️”

About: I have owned all sorts of animals my entire life. From dogs to cats, to pigs and chickens, and I have experience caring for all of them. I have regular clients on Rover who I walk for weekly. I have also done multiple drop-ins for people’s cats and dogs in the past. Tasks included feeding, cleaning, and changing litter. I feel so connected to animals and I love spending time with them. They will always be a part in my life. I am pretty open regarding my schedule. Sundays I am only available after 1pm. I prefer not to take walks after 5pm but sometimes I will! On walks I always make sure to be aware of my surroundings and avoid other dogs just in case. For drop-ins I would ensure that all water and food bowls are full/food is given based on strict instructions from the owner. I wouldn’t mind playing with the pets as well!
“Jeremy was great with our boys! They can be quite the handful but we came home to two happy and tired pups! He communicated well thru the whole stay and sent plenty of pictures!! We already have our next house sit with him scheduled 😊”

About: I previously lived on forest land where I cared for six dogs with different routines, temperaments, and activity levels, so I’m comfortable managing multiple needs and keeping structure. I also cared for two senior dogs who required kidney support, including medication, monitoring, and a gentler pace of care. My companion (Adam) is a lifelong dog owner with hands-on experience caring for large and high-energy breeds, including German Shepherds, Huskies, and Golden Retrievers. He is comfortable managing strong dogs on leash, maintaining structure, and creating a calm, safe environment in the home. We are a remote-working couple, which means your dog will not be left alone for long periods. I work as an online special education teacher, and my partner also works remotely, allowing us to be present, attentive, and flexible with your dog’s routine. We specialize in dog care and house sitting for dog-only homes. Due to allergies, we are unable to accept homes with cats, but we are fully committed to providing reliable, attentive care for dogs of all sizes. Can provide care for senior dogs, special diets and medication administration. We’re a remote-working couple providing consistent, attentive dog care with structured walks, play, and companionship throughout the day, keeping routines stable and minimizing time alone. Back in Humboldt County, we care for our Husky with daily walks, regular baths, steady companionship, and frequent forest adventures, bringing that same attentive care into your home. While we’re in the process of relocating to Los Angeles, we’re often staying with friends and family in the area, which gives us flexibility and reliability for house sitting and consistent pet care.
“So very much appreciated Shaun’s professionalism and awesome care she provided while housesitting our cocker spaniel and our visiting Golden Retriever grandpuppy! We would not hesitate to have Shaun housesit again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Simi Valley
Miss Sara was absolutely amazing with my long-haired mini dachshund while I was overseas. From the start, she was incredibly communicative, loving, and attentive, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about my puppy. What really stood out was when my return flight was unexpectedly canceled. Sara completely saved the day by staying an extra day to care for my little fur baby, which gave me so much peace of mind during a stressful situation. She followed all of my instructions perfectly, kept me updated, and treated my puppy like her own. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would absolutely love for Sara to watch my puppy again in the future, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter!

We're giving Cassandra a well deserved 5 star rating! She took care of our elderly dog and house for a week and was wonderful from start to finish. She administered medications on schedule and went above and beyond by handling extras like daily household tasks. Her communication was excellent, with consistent updates and photos throughout our time away. We highly recommend her for anyone looking for a compassionate and trustworthy sitter!

Allie did a fantastic job watching my dog, Pup! He’s older and needs a lot of extra care (medications and anxiety) and he was doing great when I got back from my trip. I was across the country and felt very comfortable while I was away knowing my house and fur babies were taken care of. Allie also made sure the house was clean and tidy before leaving! I really appreciate all she did and trusted her being in my home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Simi Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Simi Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Simi Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Simi Valley. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
