About: Hi! I’m Julia and dogs have always been an important part of my life. I grew up with an Old English Sheepdog that I miss dearly, and caring for her showed me how amazing it is to have a strong bond with a pet. Over the years, I’ve been trusted by friends, family, and neighbors to care for their dogs. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I have a flexible schedule and would love the opportunity to help care for your pup! I’m currently applying to graduate school and have a very open schedule. I’m available most weekdays and am often available on weekends, allowing me to provide flexible care for your pets. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every animal with the same care and attention I would give my own. I strive to create a calm, positive environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether we're going for a walk, playing, or simply keeping a routine, I focus on making sure your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away. I'll also keep you updated so you always know how your pet is doing.

Claire was such a wonderful person to have care for our dog, Momo! i received daily updates on their adventures and I never worried about how Momo was doing. He had an absolute blast with her, and when I came home Claire had left the apartment where she stayed with Momo clean and just as great as I had left it! Thanks again Claire and Momo can’t wait to see you again soon.

About: Animals have always trusted me, and I take that seriously. I've cared for pets in all stages of life—whether it’s a high-energy pup needing structure or an older cat who just wants safe and spacious company. I pay close attention to each animal’s unique temperament and needs, and I’m often told I bring a calming presence. Friends and family have relied on me for years to step in when they’re away, knowing their pets—and their homes—will be treated with care and respect. I am a musician and work my own hours. This to say that I am uniquely available to meet the needs of your pet- routine included. I take great care to create a calm, gentle, attentive environment that feels safe and familiar for animals. I pay close attention to their routines, signals, and comfort zones. I am someone who insists on clarity. I understand the importance that instructions are clearly understood and for you to feel the comfort of that while you’re away. I communicate clearly, efficiently, and effectively. It takes a real trust to leave your animals and your home in someone else's hands, and I take that responsibility with utmost seriousness—treating your space and your companion with the respect they both deserve.

It was such a relief to have such an incredible pet sitter looking after our babies while we were away. Plus she got some incredible pics of our little snugglebug to tied us over till we could get home and love them us ourselves.

There is so much to say about Zoe! This was the first time we would be leaving our fur baby for more than one night. This was a 2 week stay. My husband and I were terrified and so anxious that our very attached pup would be sad without us. This was not the case! Zoe made sure to cuddle with our girl, keep her up to date with her training and make sure she was getting mental stimulation throughout the day. I could tell that our Lola had the time of her life through the many videos and pictures that Zoe would send every day (I will never get over how appreciated those updates are!). It’s an unbelievable feeling to be able to go on vacation knowing that your fur child is getting as much love and attention and you want/need them to. I couldn’t imagine Lola staying with anyone else. Zoe treats her like she is her own. Zoe also left the house cleaner than when we left for our trip. Super impressive! There is no doubt that we will continue to work with Zoe for as long as we can. Lola loves her and we do as well!

Hayley dog sat our two little dogs last Saturday and she was lovely. If she has availability to sit your dog, definitely contact and book her! First of all, our one dog is a 15 year old diabetic with a host of other problems. He has to eat at a certain time, take oral medications, and get his insulin shot at a certain time. With a meet and greet, Hayley actually came over and learned how to give him his shot. To be honest, it's really hard to find someone to give an insulin shot who'll also sit, but Hayley got the gist right away! She's really nice and very responsive. I felt very comfortable leaving our dogs in Hayley's care. I got photos all night, updates on their feeding/meds, and when I came home late at night, everything was very tidy and cleaned up. So, the point being, if you can get Hayley to sit for you, do it. It was such a relief having her here with our little guys. We will definitely be asking her to sit for us in the future :) She's great!

About: I’ve been dog sitting and dog watching for several years and have had the opportunity to care for many wonderful dogs, including several families who trust me with their pets year after year. I love spending time with dogs, whether that means going on walks, playing, or simply relaxing together and keeping them company. Since I can’t have a dog of my own right now, dog sitting is a fun and rewarding way for me to get my dog fix while helping pet owners feel confident that their furry family members are being well cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own and enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality. I’m an elementary school teacher, so I have summers off and extra flexibility in my schedule during those months. Rover is a fun way for me to stay active, spend time with animals, and earn a little extra income while school is out. Since I can’t have a dog of my own right now, I love getting my dog fix by caring for and spending time with other people’s pets! Your dog will be cared for in a spacious, pet-friendly apartment where they’ll have plenty of room to relax and feel comfortable. Since I have a flexible schedule, I can provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day. I also live with my partner, who loves dogs and enjoys spending time with them, so your pup will have plenty of companionship and care while staying with us. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, happy, and right at home.

About: I think about my service as to satisfy my clients peace of mind, but also to give the animal I’m caring for nothing short of a fun experience! I want every animal I meet to associate me with fun and excitement I’ve always managed pet care into my daily life, whether it was for others or my own pets! Pet care is a responsibility that I’ve grown up with and have had my entire life, and I wouldn’t let a single thing stop me from making sure animals are cared for the way the need to be. Each animal has its own specific need. That is something that I will talk with the client about, but it’s also something I’ve very observant at. Some would like to just play, others may like to sit with you and enjoy your company. And maybe it’s a mixture of both, or something completely different. I see it as making sure each animal gets what they want so they can live an amazing life that they deserve.

Otis felt comfortable with her and it was obvious that she knows how to care for, and speak to, dogs. We will definitely use Hannah again! Otis has a new best friend and her name is Hannah!

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who treats every pet like family — you’ll find me giving scratches, chatting with pups, and making new furry friends wherever I go. I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, turtles and more) and have hands-on experience raising and training XXL breeds including Cane Corso and Great Pyrenees, as well as few velcro pittie mixes. I’ve rescued and fostered large breeds and have regularly pet-sat for dozens of friends and family, from playful puppies to gentle seniors. I have post-surgical care and recovery experience with extensive TPLO experience: recovery area setup/design, PT routines, non-weight-bearing potty breaks, enrichment, medication administration, wound/bandage care, and handling special-needs or anxious dogs. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and happy to follow your pet’s routine so they feel safe and loved while you’re away. I’m excited to meet your pup and provide an infinite amount of pets and belly rubs! I work remotely, part-time which makes me flexible and available to stick to your pet’s routine—walks, meals, meds, and playtime—and provide reliable, consistent care throughout the day. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I prefer caring for pets in their own home so I can follow their familiar routine and accommodate their quirks and comforts. Before our first booking I’ll do a pre-visit and send a short questionnaire to capture feeding, walking, medication, crate/bed preferences, emergency contacts, and any behavioral notes. I’ll follow your instructions to a T, keep your pet and home secure, maintain feeding and potty schedules, provide enrichment and exercise. Additionally, I'll send regular photo/text updates so you mind can be at ease knowing they are well cared for while you’re away.

About: I've taken care of dogs large and small for over a decade from bull mastiffs to anatolian shepherds. As a Behavioral Interventionist/therapist with 6 years of experience, I have developed strong observation skills, patience, attention to detail, and the ability to respond calmly to changing situations. Pet owners can expect someone who is loving, dependable, observant, and committed to treating their pets with the same care and respect that I would give my own. Whether it's dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, administering routines, or providing companionship while owners are away, I take pride in ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m currently working part-time as a school aide and a first time dad, but have plenty of time to play and attend your pet’s needs this summer. I am available for sitting on weekends and week days anytime until the next school year starts on August 14th 2026. I lived on a fenced property while raising our dogs. I can provide pets with consistent care, attention, and supervision based on their individual needs and routines. Whether that’s indoors or out.

Jezrah-Valerie was a great sitter for my little bad boy, Bu. Bu is a Portuguese water dog, which means that – – even according to the books – – he can be expected to be willful and quarrelsome. He has a bark that you can hear in China. And he knows what he wants and when he wants it he is very opinionated, but he also is the cutest little dog you’ve ever seen all 72 pounds of him and also one of the strongest dogs you will ever find. And also, he is very mouthy, which means that he will run his teeth along your hand, never ever wanting to bite you, but just to let you know that he has teeth just in case you didn’t know. He will not use his teeth on you unless you physically attack him, which is unlikely in a Dogsitter. The only time he ever has used them that I’ve seen was a giant Cane Corso, with close-clipped ears and quite an attitude attack attacked him. And so Bu defended himself admirably, flying through the air to avoid being bitten himself. At any rate,, Jezrah is always thinking. She is proactive and very bright. She loves dogs. She has a charming smile which never disappears. She is sweet. She loves dogs. She is generous. She is cheerful. My little bad mischief-maker was all smiles, even though I had been gone for 9 hours. I boo is not a dog who wants to be on his schedule. When he has to pee, he will tell you. He eats at regular times, but sometimes he is not hungry then so he does not eat. He gets hungry later and wants to eat so he tells you when he is hungry. You either have to have a Dog’s mind, or being in sync with his personality, or pay close attention to him to know when he is hungry and when he has to go out. I have had him since he was little.l, and mamas know these things. But other people might not. Just figured it out pretty quickly. And boo was a happy camper when I came home. I loved her personality and her attitude and the way she took care of BU. I told her she should raise her prices, but she hasn’t done it yet. I would say, if you can get her, and she has the time availability, you should definitely grab her when she is available. She comes up with her own ideas on how to do things sometimes and they work just great. I will definitely be using her again… just don’t take her on the night or days that I need her., please. Ha, ha.

FAQs for House Sitting - Westlake Village

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Westlake Village on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 10,847 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westlake Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westlake Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westlake Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westlake Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
