“David was fantastic with our troublemakers. He sent daily updates. He even went out and bought a new leash after one of our dogs ate through two! The house was super clean when we got back. Couldn’t even tell anyone had been here. Super happy and will definitely use him again!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I got my first puppy at six years old, and since then I haven’t been able to imagine a life without animals. I’ve cared for trained and untrained dogs, playful puppies, senior pups who need more assistance and everything in between. I have also been around kitties with all different personalities and needs. While my professional pet care experience has reached almost two years, I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals and I have yet to meet a pet I couldn’t love. I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I am currently a student who is also completing a CNA course for the duration of the summer. My schedule is open for your pets besides my allotted class time which is on Tuesday's, Thursdays and Saturdays at 4.5-6 hours at a time. Since I will be gone for quite some time during the day, I would love to tire them out however they need it. Any other day of the week I would be happy to spend the whole day with your furry friends! In my home or yours, I will create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for your loved ones. I am experienced in adapting to each pet’s unique needs, personality, and routine. I also believe that communication is key, so I will keep you updated with regular messages, photos, and check ins to ensure you always know how your furry family member is doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind while providing your pet with the care, attention, and affection they deserve.
“Austin was wonderful. He really knows his way around crazy puppies as well as senior dogs. Our dogs were very happy having him sit with them while we were gone for the day. We highly recommend Austin.”

About: I have owned all sorts of animals my entire life. From dogs to cats, to pigs and chickens, and I have experience caring for all of them. I have regular clients on Rover who I walk for weekly. I have also done multiple drop-ins for people’s cats and dogs in the past. Tasks included feeding, cleaning, and changing litter. I feel so connected to animals and I love spending time with them. They will always be a part in my life. I am pretty open regarding my schedule. Sundays I am only available after 1pm. I prefer not to take walks after 5pm but sometimes I will! On walks I always make sure to be aware of my surroundings and avoid other dogs just in case. For drop-ins I would ensure that all water and food bowls are full/food is given based on strict instructions from the owner. I wouldn’t mind playing with the pets as well!

I look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🐾 When I’m not at school during the week, I am walking my dog in the morning and evening and playing with my cat at home In my clients home, I will make sure that the pets needs are met by being attentive to their behavior and also playing with them
About: I’ve taken care of family and friend’s pets for a few years. I have worked with a trainer so I have some knowledge of positive reinforcement training. I am not working at this time so my schedule is very flexible. I can stay at your home the full time you are away or just do drop ins. Whatever you need. I do not offer care in my home but will be happy to stay with your pets at your home which puts your pets in a more comfortable environment.

“Kaleigh was very professional from the start, super responsive throughout the whole process, and great to work with. On short notice, Kaleigh set up a meet and greet and stayed in our home to watch our 5 year old and 5 month old golden retrievers. Puppy’s are not easy but we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with Kaleigh. Will definitely use again!”

“Katia and Luben are the BEST! I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. I can tell my dogs miss them. They are so loving, so kind, so helpful. I was out of state for a week and I had absolutely no worries. I got lots of pictures, videos and updates everyday. My home and my dogs were taken care of beautifully. Katia and Luben are my angels!”

I’m happy to provide as many visits over the weekends to ensure your pet is well cared for and happy. “Sierra did such a wonderful job house sitting and taking care of our dog and cat. Our dog is deaf and can be very timid around new people- Sierra was very patient and caring with her and provided us with pictures and updates. We would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a pet sitter.”

“Sarah is always wonderful with my little girl. She is great about sending pictures, she follows the care instructions, and she is very respectful of the house. I always come home to a well cared for pup! Sarah is my go-to sitter!! Would definitely recommend her to anyone!”

About: What truly sets me apart is my background in fostering. Over the past four years, I’ve opened my home to 10+ foster dogs, giving me hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds, personalities, and needs — from energetic 8-week-old puppies to gentle 14-year-old seniors. Fostering has taught me that every dog is different. Some pups are social and playful right away, while others need patience and time to feel comfortable in a new environment. I focus on understanding each dog’s personality, routine, and preferences so they can feel at home. I intentionally care for one guest dog at a time, which allows me to provide personalized attention, maintain their routines, and give them the calm environment they deserve. I am also experienced and comfortable administering oral and topical medications, including supporting senior dogs and pups with specialized care needs. My goal is not just to provide a place for your dog to stay, but to create a home-like experience where they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether we’re enjoying walks, playtime, or simply relaxing at home, I treat every dog like a member of my own family. I offer flexible, personalized care throughout the week! I provide plenty of companionship, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Whether your pup is staying for a weekend getaway or a longer visit, I focus on maintaining their routine and helping them feel comfortable in a new environment. I am available for overnight stays, boarding, and extended care seven days a week. My goal is to provide a calm, home-like experience where your dog receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you’re away. Your pup’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I treat every dog as an individual and focus on creating a calm, clean, and low-stress environment where they can feel at home. To provide the attention each dog deserves, I intentionally care for one guest dog at a time. This allows me to focus on their personality, routine, energy level, and unique needs — whether they are playful and active or prefer a slower, more relaxed pace. I enjoy keeping dogs active and engaged through regular walks, outdoor time, play, and mental stimulation tailored to their comfort level. My home also has a private patio where pups can relax and enjoy some supervised fresh air. I believe that pet parents know their dogs best, so I follow your routines closely — from feeding schedules and favorite activities to crate preferences and special care instructions. I am comfortable administering both oral and topical medications, including supporting senior dogs or pups with specific medical needs. Communication is important to me, and I’m happy to arrange a Meet & Greet before your dog’s stay so we can build trust and make sure it is the right fit. During stays, I provide regular photos and updates so you can feel confident knowing your pup is safe, comfortable, and receiving personalized care.
“Tawny did an incredible job watching our dog Max. Not only did she follow our instructions to the letter, she went above and beyond to make sure he was extra comfortable, since he’s prone to anxiety. This was our first time using Tawny but definitely not the last, I wouldn’t hesitate for one second to recommend her!”

Kailey was an amazing sitter. She stayed with my girls all weekend and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. She followed all instructions and made sure to send me pictures and updates. I highly recommend her for booking and I hope to work with her again soon! 10/10✨

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Gwenyth was while sitting my dog Bogey while we were away. Bogey never took to a new person the way he did with Gwenyth. She constantly sent photos and updates, played with him and was never away for long. We returned to an immaculate home and a very happy Bogey. I would highly recommend Gwen as a pet sitter.

Gaby took care of our three pups while we were away for several days. She did a fantastic job keeping us informed and our pups loved her! She made the entire process flow smoothly, which eased my anxiety about leaving and allowed me to relax and enjoy our family vacation. 100% recommend Gaby, and we will definitely book her for any of our future times away from home. Thank you Gaby!

Nicole is great! Part of me wants to gatekeep her but she deserves the recognition. This is the second time we’ve used her, and once again she was wonderful. She communicated regularly, sent plenty of pictures and updates, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely book with her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Justine was absolutely amazing with our dog! Our pup was recovering from an abscess, wearing a cone, and needed antibiotics twice a day, so we were definitely anxious about leaving her but Justine handled everything so thoughtfully and carefully. We received regular pictures and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind, and it was obvious our dog felt safe, loved, and comfortable the whole time. We came home to a happy dog and could not be more grateful. We would absolutely book with Justine again and highly recommend her!

Johanna was a life saver for us with my sweet, 2 year old Golden who had a previously traumatizing experience having been boarded at a lovely facility but one not meant for her personality . She requires a lot of attention, love and comfort and is not great with being alone. Johanna provided all of that and more. There was not one day I didnt feel at ease knowing my pup was in the very best of hands and we were updated on the regular with photos and videos of their time together. Johanna is a gem of a human who loves these pets like her own and takes the utmost care and responsibility for their feelings, feedings, and everything in between while owners are out. Im so grateful for Johanna and her devotion to her work as is our pup. Core memories plugged for all. Thank you, Johanna. ♥️

Sierra was amazing. We were gone for six days. Sierra cared for our two dogs and two cats. Sierra’s communication w us was perfect. We never worried for a second. The house was in clean condition when we returned. We are so happy with the care our animals received from Sierra. Will definitely use her services in the future. Thank you so much Sierra!!!!!

Sky did more than just take care of our dogs she kept the whole house running. We have a 400 gallon reef fish tank and she took care of that on top of our 5 month old golden doodle our 8 year old frenchie, and we have a 16 year old Pomeranian in diapers. Sky was so on top of everything she even gave the dogs a bath before we came home. 10/10 would rehire and recommend. She leads with love and you can really tell she loves what she does!

Katia and Luben are the BEST! I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. I can tell my dogs miss them. They are so loving, so kind, so helpful. I was out of state for a week and I had absolutely no worries. I got lots of pictures, videos and updates everyday. My home and my dogs were taken care of beautifully. Katia and Luben are my angels!

Best. Petsitting experience. Ever! Freddy went well above and beyond with our babies and our home – truly the most considerate, thoughtful sitter we’ve ever had. He took out the trash, stripped the sheets, cleaned up the yard, washed all the dog food containers, pulled in packages, and even left a sweet note that absolutely made our day. None of it was expected, and all of it meant so much to us. He texted us with photos & updates throughout our trip, and we knew they were in the best hands - so much love & attention. Our dogs were so happy and relaxed when we got home, and the house was spotless. Freddy is hands-down the best sitter we’ve had in 4.5 years and we would hire him again in a heartbeat. Absolutely incredible!

This was our first time using a Rover sitter. Jasmine was wonderful, stopping by a few days ahead of time to get acquainted with Penny. She kept us updated while we were out of town which made us feel more comfortable. We will definitely use Jasmine again the next time we go out of town.

FAQs for House Sitting - Newbury Park
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Newbury Park on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,115 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newbury Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newbury Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newbury Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newbury Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newbury Park. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
